I want to try to be fair because at the end of the day we had a good time with friends at the beach while it was snowing at home. The people working there were very nice and that made up for antiquated rooms and below quality food. It was very clean and the maids were very nice and accommodating. Because it is a smaller hotel the beach was not crowded at all and the access to the pools and beach were very simple and just a few steps from the rooms. The hotel and beach were very clean. The restaurants (only two: one buffet and one a la carte. There was also a grill&bar at the pool) need really to upgrade the quality of their food. Other than the lady making omelettes in the morning the rest of the food was quite bad. We paid for all inclusive and ended up going out for dinner a few times. While the rooms were clean the mattresses were old and hard; you can hear everything going on at the hallway; the AC was an adventure: called two times to get it fixed and ended up being a binary choice: want cold? turn it on; too cold? turn it off. No middle ground.Quite frustrating at night. There seemed to be little international guests at the hotel. The lady at the kids club was very nice and the kids had a great time with her.

Although the Flamingo is an older hotel, I did not have a problem with this. The staff was constantly making improving, either painting hand rails on stair cases, making rock gardens, or just cleaning the premises in general. We were fortunate to secure an ocean view room with a balcony. Some mornings, we would turn off the A/C & just let the ocean breeze filter into our room, I loved the sound of the ocean coming to shore. Although we did not use the pool area, it was very inviting & clean.

The staff was good. The hotel wasn't bad but it doesn't have any activities(kayac, surfing, snorkeling ) as expedia offered , internet wifi is not included and you have to pay for a really slow conexion. Great location! !! Wonderful beach, and Good variety of food.!

arrived on sat 12-6 at 3oo pm. room was not ready. Finally got to our room at 430pm. delux room, very nice, included safe. Flamingo beachs are fantastic. The Albatross restaurant was very good. had dinner there almost every night andit wasvery good with exception of the steaks. It is located near a mall, Outback steakhouse and several bars near by. its right on the bus line which run every few minutes. The bartenders were all excellant. the food in the buffet was ok, not outstanding. When we were there, the majority of the people staying at the hotel were Mexican families, only a few from the USA and Canada

Flamingo is a smallish hotel, with 2 separate pools, 2 restaurants - one right on the beach - and a nice bar. I did the all inclusive and yes, the food is bland, but they are catering to everyone, so its just a matter of choosing wisely @ the buffet. My room was clean + a balcony, I only took the basic room available and still very nice. Not too many kids running around, the other guests were all friendly and from every country with many of them returning to the Flamingo every year. La Isla shopping mall is close by and besides all the shops, there's some nice water front restaurants. I got a 45 min massage right in the middle of the mall and it was excellent.

They have upgraded us to beach view room which is really great... But the restrooms doesn't have the exhaust and it was all moist and shower curtains were in bad condition. Apart from that te view is spectacular and the staff and all were very friendly.

This particular hotel is NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE! Explain: - two bars with no variety of drinks, even "local" wine and beer are presented as "ONE BEER" and "ONE WINE"; - the bar #1 works from 10am to 4pm at the kids pool, the bar #2 situated at the small lobby started serving people from 4pm to 11pm. - the menu at two restaurants are so poor, no cheese or vegetables, NO COFFEe. - no coffeemakers in the room, no refrigerator in the room, no drinking water; - the beach towels are so trashy! - there is such a short list what is INCLUDED. I paid extra for everything. - the first day, there were no sparkling wine, no wine in the bar, good quality alcohol shown on the shelves are for extra, like a shot of good vodka is $10 USD. - in the a la card restaurant "Albatross" coffee machine was broken and never fixed for my 10 day stay over there; - no transfer from and to an airport; - WIFI-extra - the same menu EVERY DAY: simple as ABC. The worst is a breakfast: eggs with eggs, NO CHEESE, NO cold cuts. - front desk people, not every one, but the most are pathological LIARS, - at any restaurants you are not served, you are demonstratively ignored, - for a few days my room was not cleaned due to cleaning ladies appeared as late as 8pm, and, I was, already, in the bed.

They had a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. And they just gave it to us... No extra charge. Access to the beach is immediate. The pool is not too deep, thus my wife's " favorite pool in the world". The buffet breakfast was absolutely excellent. And the staff was friendly, happy and helpful. An absolutely lovely experience.

It was my first trip to mexico/cancun and it was awesome. I had such a great time. My room was very nice and clean and the view over the ocean was breathtaking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Special thanks to guys from the Albatros restuarant Capitano Roman, Luis Fernando, Abenego, Carls and Oscar the barman. It is a very nice hotel close to the beach and restaurants. If you don't want to save some money, the bust stop is outside the hotel and take R1 would take you to downtown. And in playa de tortugas there's a ferry where it would take you to isla de mujeres. The staff was very friendly and professional that made our stay in flamingo more pleasant.

A lot of construction trying to update an old property. The location is good. The beach was very nice. The staff was not very impressive but not bad either. If you want internet just know it is $7/ day, a little overpriced but what can you do. The restaurant with a view to the ocean was the best part, reasonable prices and very good food, and great service. The pool was nice. Beware if you get a room close to the kid center you will not get any sleep in the morning. The restaurants close by are very limited and overpriced. The breakfast buffet in the hotel is $35 and not good at all do not recommend that, but the hotel was very decent for the price and location.

For the price we paid which was 50% off it was good. Wouldnt pay more for that hotel, about $100 a day all inclusive.but this price was apparently for street view only. Hotel seemed remodeled but room bathroom were old and ugly and smelled. AC in room is too cold and does not auto shut. The food was regular not bad but not great. No coffee machine or radio in room. Wifi has a $5 charge which it should be included at least in lobby. Go to mwrcado 28 (market in street open air) to get discounted tour tixs.

You get what you pay for. Not to many options as far as restaurants. Beautiful view. Room was ok if you don't plan on staying in there long. If you do, this hotel isn't for you. We asked for a kings size bed room and we got to Queen beds. When I called to let them know, they said no king beds were available only of I upgraded to ocean view for more money. We ended up leaving hotel and going to a resort. This hotel is situated in a beautiful area it's just not that great of a hotel.

We had a junior suite which was fabulous! Beautiful bed with couch, table & chairs in a separate sitting room. Very nice updated bathroom with invigorating shower (water pressure was unbelievable!) It also had a semi-private patio with loungers that overlooked the beach & water. When we checked in on a Friday evening, there was a lot of activity in their bar, their restaurant & some other type of entertainment going on. It has a really nice pool in the center of the building which is unusual. I would highly recommend this place, as the staff was very pleasant & accommodating and the hotel seemed to be well maintained.

Location is very good, almost in the center of the hotel zone,additionally touching the white sands of the beach.Too many shops and places etc. are nearby.Less than 1 mile to Cancun night life.About 2 miles to US Cancun Embassy. Good facilities within the resort complex. Services etc. satisfactory.Remember this is 3 stars resort, with low budget.Want good services etc. please go to 5 stars resort.Expect what you pay for.Use common sense.Lastly,but very important, don't get overwhelmed and trapped in their timeshare type programe, just attend the presentation, eat free breakfast,receive free gifts and tell them I am not interested.Smokers will face some difficulties.

We came here to celebrate our second anniversary and it was totally disappointing. The room smelled like mildew. There were spots all over the bathroom mirrors. The hotel has a big charge for beach towels if you forget to return them. SERIOUSLY?! Nobody wants to worry about a $30USD per towel charge when on vacation. One of the employees offered a free breakfast to us when we were walking up to the restaurant, this ended up turning into a timeshare-like scam! Took up about 2 hours of our time. The beachside resturant had bugs on the table crawling up to the plates. It was so disgusting. The entire time I wanted to cry, I can't believe Expedia would do business with a hotel like this. Total waste of money. We ended up paying for a day pass at a MUCH better resort that was clean and polite to their guests.

The staff at the Flamingo Cancun Resort was friendly and professional. My room was clean and comfortable, and I was upgraded to a room directly overlooking the ocean. The property has two pools, several restaurants, and is just steps away from the ocean. If you are traveling on a budget, I can't think of a better value for the money. At check-in, the concierge desk will give you coupons for discounts at local eateries. There is a pharmacy, mall stores, and restaurants right across the street. I travelled alone and was a bit nervous due to other reviews I had read about this hotel, but I worried for nothing. My stay was pleasant from start to finish, and I definitely would return again.

The hotel is old and moist. Floor and walls felt wet constantly. The staff did not go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Mostly natives were staying there. Breakfast horrible as well as the dinner. We eventually stayed at the beach palace resort.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the ocean's view is amazing; but unfortunately what matters for us is the service. Service at this hotel is not good at all. The do not make you feel comfortable as in other places. They do not care about you and your family. The rooms are OK, but that's it; nothing to do with what you see on internet. The food was OK, nothing great. The worst part was the check out. Our flight was at 5pm. And, we expected as in other hotels, we could do the check out, but stayed at the pool or surrounding areas. WHAT a surprise when they said NOO. the cut off the bracelet.

Just checking in was not very nice; one of the rooms I had booked a month in advance, 'was not available', so I had to be put in a different one and moved to another one the next day. then, the view on the second room, was a busy street and a bank, instead of the great views advertised in the website. The most disappointing thing about the hotel was the food. If you expect the great Mexican food to be served here, forget it! We had to go out and eat at places some of the staff recommended to try real Mexican dishes. There is WiFi in the rooms, ONLY if you pay for it. Well, you have to pay for one code for each day you want the service. I paid for seven days, and could not use it two of those days, because they gave me the wrong codes.

Hotel was pretty average, with a few errors. For one, the internet was not free, but instead very costly. Secondly, there was minimum security in the hotel room. And lastly, after ten pm, there was no areas open in the hotel, so not recommended for night-owls. Otherwise, the food was okay, nothing too exciting. Same as the other activities provided by the hotel. Overall, a somewhat bland experience, with our personal rating of (at the most) three star hotel.

very disapointed, personel was very rude and misinformed about ameneties. called before book in the hotel and they told me that wifi was complementary then when i got there they informed me that i need to pay for the wifi and it just for one device. never stay there again. personel very rude, they had just one server at the bar next to the pool.

No more bottle water in the rooms.had to pay extra for oceanview when we got there.could not drink out of our mugs.but the service from the bartenders, george, isamel and eric was impeccable the best anywhere I have been.thanks guys.food was very good too

We reserved 8 rooms for our group months in advance. When we arrived we were told that our rooms had been given to others and we were being sent down the road to another hotel. The rooms there were not ready well after check in time. Some of the rooms were sub-standard but overall the replacement hotel was better than the original. Evidently "reservation" has a different meaning for this hotel. One couple was staying 5 days and had to stay at one hotel for 2 nights and them move back to the original.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and the common areas were always being cleaned. They could do a better job in adding variety to the menu. One of the two restaurants served Mexican food every meal.

The view from the Jr. Suites has been ruined by a grove of palm trees. These were our favorite rooms on our last five visits, but now you can barely see the beach from the patio. We were extremely disappointed that we didn't have the view of the beach that we paid extra for.

The food wasn't all that great and staff speaks very little English, But they did try to assist as best they could.

I did not like receiving a note from one of the employees saying that I need it to pay 240 dollars because he offer me a deal package in order for me to spend 90 minutes for a presentation. I was clearly with him about and he said I did not have to buy in order for me to get the activities, he just stop me from going to another hotel then he got mad, that's the only mal sabor de boca q me quedo about this hotel. Other than that small issue everuthyng was good.

WE stayed here for 2 nights during our Honeymoon stay. It was an amazing place to stay. We had a blast and the hotel was very nice and the staff was very accommodating. We needed anything they were right there to help. The pool was very amazing and our suite we stayed in was on the first floor and had an ocean view with a lounge chair on the deck for us to sit in and enjoy the sounds of the beach. It was very romantic and I will definitely go back if we ever visit Cancun again.

Nice hotel, excellent food and very clean room but some employees were very rude. We asked questions and nobody knew anything. The date we were leaving employee Monica called me to give me the wellcome gift and the wine that was supposed to be given on the first day of our arrival. The check out date they had no clue what to do. We asked what was going on and the two girls at the front desk just ignored us. We waited out there 30 minutes before they checked us out.

My and the wife stayed at the Flamingo four years ago and it was magical. No magic this time. The staff were rude, the waiters only provided service to larger parties. We waited 12 minutes one night and finally got our drinks ourselves. If it weren't for the two waiters Mathias and Ricardo, who were awesome, I would have rated total zeros. The toilet wouldn't flush in the room and we called it in, but nada. I fixed it. The food is subpar at the buffet. However the food at the Albatross downstairs was great. At checkout they tried to charge us for a room change. After arguing the charge, it was a different person listed in the invite. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone until the staff has been trained or replaced. Sad that this once good hotel should now be avoided.
