"Cheap "motel" experience!!"
We came here to celebrate our second anniversary and it was totally disappointing. The room smelled like mildew. There were spots all over the bathroom mirrors. The hotel has a big charge for beach towels if you forget to return them. SERIOUSLY?! Nobody wants to worry about a $30USD per towel charge when on vacation. "Great beach area"

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the ocean's view is amazing; but unfortunately what matters for us is the service. Service at this hotel is not good at all. Just checking in was not very nice; one of the rooms I had booked a month in advance, 'was not available', so I had to be put in a different one and moved to another one the next day. then, the view on the second room, was a busy street and a bank, instead of the great views advertised in the website. "Average hotel experience, nothing to exciting."
Hotel was pretty average, with a few errors. For one, the internet was not free, but instead very costly. Secondly, there was minimum security in the hotel room. And lastly, after ten pm, there was no areas open in the hotel, so not recommended for night-owls. Otherwise, the food was okay, nothing too exciting. We reserved 8 rooms for our group months in advance. When we arrived we were told that our rooms had been given to others and we were being sent down the road to another hotel. The rooms there were not ready well after check in time. Some of the rooms were sub-standard but overall the replacement hotel was better than the original. I did not like receiving a note from one of the employees saying that I need it to pay 240 dollars because he offer me a deal package in order for me to spend 90 minutes for a presentation. "Used to be a great experience"
My and the wife stayed at the Flamingo four years ago and it was magical. No magic this time. The staff were rude, the waiters only provided service to larger parties. We waited 12 minutes one night and finally got our drinks ourselves. If it weren't for the two waiters Mathias and Ricardo, who were awesome, I would have rated total zeros. The toilet […] wouldn't flush in the room and we called it in, but nada. I fixed it. The food is subpar at the buffet. However the food at the Albatross downstairs was great. At checkout they tried to charge us for a room change. After arguing the charge, it was a different person listed in the invite. "Nice quiet hotel"
Could have done without the hard sell for the timeshare that they subjected us to immediately upon arrival. Actually had to get nasty in order for them to leave us alone. After that the hotel was great. They upgraded us to an ocean view room which had a great view and was very clean and comfortable. The bartenders at the pool bar excellent but the snack […] bar sucked. They didn't have the advertised chicken wings or pizza, only hamburgers hotdogs and french fries. Like all the food in the buffet most of the stuff was cold. After complaining they did go in and get some hot french fries. As I said the buffet food was always cold and the choices less than desirable. I've been in many better all inclusives in Cancun food wise. On the plus side they didn't have that pounding club music all the time at the pool and they didn't have to be annoying master of ceremonies trying to get everyone involved in stuff. The overall experience was good. The room was great, we had a street view but on 5th floor so not bad. Room was very basic.
