the hotel was fine. but we when booked we didn't have the option for breakfast which was ok because we paid at the hotel. we booked refundable with card guaranty but when we arrived and wanted to check in they told us the money was already withdraw ed from the account. the hotel was very good but to some extent expensive. the staff was helpfull

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff is friendly, the service is marvelous and you feel like a VIP, even though you aren't. It's a short walking distance to the Berlin Philharmoniker and many worthwhile historic sites. There are well marked bike lanes everywhere. I highly suggest you borrow one of the bikes from the hotel and take off to see all of […] the important sites in the city. That said, I happened to stay on the weekend, when both the president and delegation from an important trading partner-country also arrived for a 4-5 day stay. The hotel was surrounded by police; the staff was overwhelmed as they worked to accommodate this group and I felt like an intruder. As I prepared to leave the hotel on Monday morning, I needed a taxi. The lovely bell man was polishing a metal post near the entrance and waved me toward the busy, main street and said, "sorry, you'll have to flag a taxi there" The hotel looked and felt like it was under siege. Police and guns everywhere. Relaxing weekend over. I will return on the basis of the highly trained staff and their authentic interest in my comfort and enjoyment at the hotel just the day before.... We stayed for 5 nights at the end of July. The entire experience was great, the facilities were in line with what you would expect (though the pool is a bit small), the room was excellent and very comfortable, on the top floor with fewer rooms than the other floors so it was very quite. The hotel was stunning, I went there to celebrate a 40th birthday, the staff were amazing, nothing was a problem, they could not do enough for you. The room was beautiful, spotless and very luxurious. This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in and would recommend anyone staying in Berlin try to stay here, they will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ritz Carlton over the August bank holiday weekend, a last minute booking, and although expensive we were not disappointed. A luxurious, opulent hotel which had a very grand feel rather than modern. I would say a more mature clientele (we are 30 and 33) but nevertheless the staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. […] We had a deluxe room with a HUGE kingsize bed - amazing! Big bathroom, plenty of space for two, good air con, bathrobes (although we only had 1 in our room), slippers etc all the things you would expect from a 4* hotel. The breakfast was another highlight - worth spending a bit more to get it included in your stay, a huge variety and all freshly prepared. We loaded up in the morning which meant that we didn't need to have a big lunch or lunch at all. We didn't try the spa facilities unfortuantely. Conceirge very helpful if a bit slow in getting back to us with our dinner reservations but always friendly. All staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Best thing is the location, right in the centre, you can walk to most attractions and sights from the hotel. In fact we only used public transport on one day of our stay to go to Potsdam. Read more

Only maons would be the lack of tea and coffee making in the room. Excellent location. Rooms extremely comfortable. Booked hotel without breakfast. This was an extra 15 pounds per room (7.50 each for 2 people). Contacted prior to arrival and was informed breakfast would be the same price on arrival. However, when we arrived we were told breakfast was 38 euro each. It was the little touches that impressed us. It was my boyfriend's 30th and they sent a little cake up to the room with 'Happy 30th Birthday' on it when we arrived. They always met you with a smile at the door and reception. We had a great 2 nights and would go back again. If in doubt book the breakfast- it's a must...great start to the day.

This is first class hotel in every respect. It is everything one would expect from a 5 star hotel. From the outside it looks like any other modern building but inside, it looks like the Ritz. Great service, great facilities, very comfortable rooms and beds, big bathrooms, someone who makes your bed again if you take and afternoon nap :) peace and quiet with interesting views over Potsdamer-Platz. My boyfriend and I went to the Ritz Carlton for a weekend but we wish we could've stayed longer. The whole experience was wonderful from the moment we walked through the door and were greeted by the friendly staff to the quality of our room and the services the hotel provided. We spent a relaxing evening listening to the hotel's pianist/singer and we […] were both very impressed (we're both performers ourselves so we should know what we're talking about!) and the food was absolutely delicious. I can't think of a single thing I would change about the hotel, and thanks to Expedia we were able to get a great price on the room (I have paid more to stay in far less luxurious hotels in the past!).
