A good place to stay if you want to be in the centre of Georgetown. However the rooms are very small for the price you pay, but they are clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a good variety of foods and styles, but can be extremely busy at peak times and the food is not always available. Overall, a good place to stay with a good location.

This was our 3rd trip to what is now the Sunway Putra Hotel in recent years. Why do we keep coming back? We love KL and in our eyes this hotel is a great place to stay and offers value for money. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. All staff greeted you and smiled in passing. English is good enough that they can understand you. Our room was not huge but as we didn't spend alot of time in there-it was sufficient. Clean. The buffet breakfast is an absolute must! Great location. The Location is quite convenience, Red Garden food centre is just few min. walk only, the hotel is not very new but quite clean, items that i need all in the room, like hair dryer. International breakfast much better than previous hotel that we stay. I will be back for my next visit.

Room was very small. Booked for 3 people (twin beds and a rollout) which left almost no floor room. Took multiple phonecalls and over an hour to try and have the rollout delivered to the room, then had to give up as we had dinner plans so had it delivered while we were out. Comparatively, I could have rated it five star if only the room is a bit bigger or the price is a bit lower by about 15%. For 10% lower, Melia Hotel of Kuala Lumpur has bigger room and newer facilities.

Booked thru hotel.com and while checking in found out that internet was free to all who booked thru other means ie i had to pay extra for internet charges because i booked thru an agent, otherwise it would have been foc! a bit strange but i think this is beacuse of the hotel and agent agreement.

Our room's bathroom was not clean so we were upgraded to a deluxe room which was nice of the hotel. There is no need to order breakfasts as there are tons of better food stalls around the hotel. The location is good.

Booked deluxe rooms as they were renovated. Unblocked views from high floor. Rooms were small but have basic amenities. Stale musky smell present and we got housekeeping to spray some air freshener. Good variety at breakfast but quality of food varies.

Hotel foyer looked impressive but rooms very small, tired and needed up a good clean up. Only meals available were Japanese, so nothing else to select from. Were told to use the Paradise Foodcourt across the road very safe and good food but alas we got food poisoning so didin't see anything of Penang just our hotel room.

The Cititel is located in the center of Georgetown, so it was easy to get to the things we wanted to see and accomplish what we wanted to accomplish. Hotel staff was responsive to our needs. The room was clean, though the mattress was very firm by USA standards. The Japanese Restaurant in the hotel was great and the breakfast buffet was fabulous!

We stayed at the Cititel Penang for three nights from 8 - 11 June 2011 on Floor 12 with a seaview. The room was very clean and comfortable. A buffet breakfast was included in the rate. The location is very strategic especially if you want to stay in Georgetown area. Taxi and bus stop are just in front of the hotel. I took the free georgetown shuttle bus which come every 15-30mins and found that very convenient. Lots of coffee shops and penang's food stalls around this area. Breakfast was OK. The only let down was probably the room […] carpet that wasn't really clean, but that;s probably because we are staying in smoking room, I hope they will steam or clean it. Located just opposite to "Red Garden" hawker center the CAT bus stop, it is very convenitent to have supper at night or visit major attractions within George Town during the day time. The rate is also quite reasonable for a 4-star hotel.

Great experience. Easy check-in/out, no surprises. Friendly staff. Clean rooms, spacious. We had a nice view of Penang Road and the waterfront. Nice breakfast spread. Computers available with free Internet access. Great location near shops, buses, trishaws and taxis - all outside the front door. I will definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

Couldn't be better located for touring the historic parts of Georgetown! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Particularly enjoyed the free internet service in the Main St. Cafe which also had a great breakfast buffet. After arriving at the hotel at about 1.45pm, I was told that my room would be ready only in 30 to 45 minutes. The official check-in time is supposed to be 2pm. After spending much effort to talk to the check-in staff, she finally agreed to re-assigned another room (for which the guest has not arrived yet) to me. In the process, she even offer a room […] that was designated for fogging (how ridiculous?). I find that their room assignment system is very inflexible. Can;t it be based on first come first served? And why did the hotel allowed the previous guest late check-out to affect the room cleaning when it knows that it will delay the check-in of the next guest? On the bright side, the hotel's location is good. Within 10-15 minutes walking distance to Lomtar. The Hop-On free shuttle bus stop is directly opposite the hotel. The room is clean. The breakfast is good and have variety of dishes which changes daily. For dinning out, there are a numbers of hawker foods and restaurant nearby. Read more

窓から少し海が見えるお部屋になり気持ちよく過ごせました。 この金額で、このホテルに泊れるなんて安いと、夫婦で感動していました。 お部屋は程よい広さで清潔で、バスルームは広く、大きなバスタブがあり言うことなしでした。 ホテルには室内ジャグジープールがあり、一度行きましたが、ジャグジーは出ていませんでした。日本の温水プールとは違い、そのままの温度だったので少し水が冷たかったです。横にはサウナが2種類あり、そちらで温まりました。ジムもありました。 観光、移動にとても便利で、また機会があればぜひ泊りたいです。

8月15日から2泊滞在しました。 George Townの中心にホテルが位置しているので観光の拠点として大変重宝しました。 また、ホテルの清掃が行き届いており、大変満足でした。唯一気になった点は、ホテルの水道のお湯が若干茶色掛かっていたため水道水は不安でした（これはPenang島に共通している点かもしれません）。 注意点としては、ホテルの無線LAN接続が有料かつ低速なので、3Gインターネットモデムをプリペイド契約した方が高速なインターネットを楽しめます。

角部屋のとても眺めの良い部屋に宿泊できました。Red Gardenという屋台集合のフードコートが近くにあります。世界遺産のジョージタウンらしい街並みに囲まれています。インターネットのつながりが悪くなることがあり、何度もIT課の人に来てもらいました。対応は親切でしたが、強いて言えば、そこがマイナスです。

観光にお金を使いたかったので、ホテルは経済性を考えて選びました。 そのためホテルの質はそれほど期待していませんでしたが、実際にはとても快適でした。 もちろん、設備は古いところもありますし個性的なホテルではありませんが、お値段なりのものを想定していけば裏切られることはありません。 ジョージタウンの中でもかなり背が高いホテルなので、街の中で迷子になりそうになった時、目印になってくれて助かりました（笑） また、CAT（無料バス）の停留所（８番）も近いですし、屋台村（Red Garden）もすぐ近く。 ホテルスタッフも感じのいい人が多かったです。 次は豪華ホテルにしようと思っていましたが、終わってみるとまたシティテルでもいいかも、と思うくらい気に入りました。

The drainage in the bath is relatively slow although there is no hair clog. About the hotel faciliaties, the buffet breakfast was good in Malaysian/ Indian/ Japanese styles.
