Vi hadde et deilig opphold i 4 dager på et flott hotell.Vi var på besøk i området west monroe - så det var lett å kjøre til familien som bodde lenger ut i området. Hotellet var veldig fint for oss.Utrolig hyggelig betjening. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

As soon as I walked into the room at this hotel I knew it was a mistake to stay there. The room smelled horrible! I can't even describe the smell. There was a huge red stain on the carpet in the middle of the floor, the bathtub had water standing in it from who knows what, the chair in the corner was ripped in several places and the bed, well, I'm sure I'll have recurring back problems from the bed. I was actually a bit nervous to even sleep in it given the cleanliness of the rest of the room. This hotel sits on the access road beside of the freeway.....very noisy! The free Wi-Fi didn't work and the TV remote was broken. Needless to say, I checked out very early the next morning and haven't looked back. This is not a hotel you want to stay at!
"Subpar for IHG chain"

This hotel is low on my list of places to stay. I have to be in Monroe for work occasionally and the quality and friendliness have slipped in the past six months. Staff is not friendly and often not even at the desk. Rooms are often dusty and there are sometimes smelly odors. I would not stay here except it is the only hotel in the IHG line within 30 miles.
"very poor service."

On a two day stay, over the Labor Day Holiday for our Daughter and Son-in-law, they refused to service the room after the first night. No clean towels or whatever the second morning of the stay. Not to smart.....
"Beware! Black Mold & horrible experience!"
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel chain has gone way downhill over these past 2 years! We just traveled across country for a period of 3 weeks and booked Holiday Inn Express hotels for each night. This hotel chain has given up on their "quality of service" and it was reflected quite loudly during our cross country trip in other locations! This particular hotel in West Monroe, Louisiana was probably the WORST we have stayed at to date! This is the second time I have stayed at this particular hotel with my family, and it will definitely be our last! We paid a lot of money for the garbage we received. First off, the "Executive Suite" was pure junk! The walls were filthy dirty with small holes in the walls. There were very noticeable marks on the walls consisting of scratches, dirt, and filth - YUCK!!! The paint was even rubbing off in various spots in the room. The hotel maid service was a big joke! They never made our beds (skipped us) and never cleaned our "Executive Suite" room, including standard supplies! How GROSS! My wife had to go to the front desk and ask for towels, shampoo, and other essentials. After she received them, they made her carry them back to our room!! ***Attention Manager: So much for your dedication or commitment to any form of customer service! Does my wife get a tip or a bonus check for doing YOUR JOB?!! How ridiculous!!!! You should be fully dedicated and committed in serving your guests!! The guest doesn't serve you! When we went to use the shower, we noticed that the bathtub & shower combination was plugged up with about an inch of water pooled up over the drain hole. It was clogged up and dirty! Looking up at the ceiling in the bathroom we immediately noticed BLACK MOLD! How disgusting! This is NOT acceptable and is a serious health concern. The beds were also itchy and disgusting too! I had bites on my body &, face as a result of sleeping here - pathetic!!!!!!! It apearred that there was some type of event involving construction workers during our stay, so no other rooms were available. Management: Do you personally inspect your rooms (your product) to make certain they meet your hotels corporate expectations of great quality, presentation, and cleanliness? This might be a good time to START! At breakfast time we noticed that the food items were a joke too. The pancake machine didn't even work, in fact, it had a sign on it. What a let down for the kids - they ALWAYS look forward to this treat at the Holiday Inn Express hotel chains! The coffee was empty, and no creamer was available either. I had to hunt down an employee to get some some coffee & creamer (She was put out that I even asked her such a question). When I walked across the floor in our room with my bare feet, the bottom of my feet turned black in color. The air conditioner in our room was loud, annoying, and was stuck on one speed - low. This room is way over due for a remodel, an update, and a health and safety inspection!! I took photos of our described experience at this hotel (attached to photo section). We are so upset at this hotel chain for their garbage product (hotel). They don't seem to care when you bring it to their attention. They only give you "empty words" and that's it. Your customers expect the VERY BEST when they book a room - nothing less!!! I have been a PRIORITY REWARD customer for many years. Holiday Inn Express & Suites does NOT seem to deliver a good product anymore! We see a poor trend occurring with this chain. We are no longer going to book any future hotel stays with ANY Holiday Inn ever again! Priority rewards means something totally different than what this hotel chain advertises! Who wants to receive a reward from this type of experience? Do yourself a favor....RUN from this substandard hotel chain and go somewhere else! TIP: If you want a real deal, try staying at an Embassy Suites or Hampton Inn & Suites. They know customer service & they care about YOUR hotel experience and your future return visits! Bye bye Holiday Inn Express hotel chain! You don't listen to your loyal customers and your product no longer meets any of our expectations! At this point, I wouldn't even stay at your hotel chain for free! Remember that your product reflects you, your employees, and your corporate management/owners. "Not the best"

I hardly ever saw someone at the front desk when I was coming or going, which isn't good as pretty much anyone could just walk right in. I did not get to have breakfast because I had to be at work to early. The tub had drainage issues when taking a shower. I stayed here for 9 days March 15-24

With my husband being in sales, he travels and we are able to go with him a lot; thus we stay in many hotels. We chose to stay in this hotel on our way to Florida for vacation. This was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed. The front desk staff was not welcoming and very rude during our overnight stay. The room was filthy overall and it was not stocked with supplies. There was not enough breakfast out during a very busy Saturday morning and with only one staff trying to keep up with it, many guests went without eating. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
"Very poorly managed."

Wifi was virtually non-existent in the suite I had. Despite repeated complaints, the only attempt made to resolve the problem was to "reset" the router. Every other time I have stayed at every other similarly rated (or lesser) class of chain of hotels, they at least tried to redirect the router. The breakfast options are dismal, unless you can stomach the ersatz scrambled eggs, cold cereal, hard biscuits and surly servers. The semi-fascinating wonder of the pancake machine was not an option. The room was nice enough if you can stand faulty lighting and beige, weird tasting water. Stay somewhere else, like Rayville or Ruston.

Our room was fine. Tubs won't plug so shower only unless u block drain with rag. Water is brown and stinks. Note at front desk says it's some kind of water double filtered. I only know it stinks. U smell bad after shower. Tastes nasty for brushing teeth too. Stinky nasty

Horrible experience, Carpet was filthy worst I have ever seen. The room was extremely loud, bed and pillows were uncomfortable. I will never stay at a Holiday inn again!!! The water was extremely nasty smelling as well I refused to shower in it.
"Not impressed with this H-I Express"

Checked in late on a Friday night w/o a reservation. We specifically asked for a king room w/a fridge because we had food we didn't want to keep on ice in a soft sided cooler. We parked at the back entrance door so we could get to our room easier from the car. Tried the key card several times on the outside door w/no luck. Then just tried the door & found it wasn't even locked. As we made our way to the elevator, noticed a sour/foul smell (perhaps pet friendly area?) in the 1st floor hallway & a pizza box on the floor outside a room. Made it to our room (#324) & looked around. Fridge was not in kitchentte area, but almost behind entry door - nearly ran into it in the dark room. Everything looked fairly neat, but it was late & we were tired. I asked my husband to put the food in the fridge. He opened it & discovered it wasn't even plugged in! When he did plug it in, it made lots of noise. We opted then to just add ice to our cooler, set it in the sink in case of a leak, & be done with it. I went to close the black-out curtains, & couldn't find the "pull rod" to move one side along it's track. After fighting with tugging on the fabric to close the curtains, I noticed the rod on the floor next to the window. I then tried to adjust the temperature setting on the AC unit, but I'm sure that wasn't working properly either. It was set at 67 when we got there, I dropped it to 65, but the room just never seemed to cool down much - and we arrived after 9 pm. I can't imagine what it would feel like in the daytime of summer in LA. Finally got into bed, & sheets felt damp! Not just humidity damp, but pulled out of the drier too soon & put on bed slightly wet damp. But by this point, we were exhausted & didn't want to switch rooms, so we toughed it out. In the morning, we took our bags to the car before coming back inside to eat. Pizza box was still on the floor out side of room door on 1st floor hallway! Breakfast was barely adequate. Pancake maker was out of order, sausage in "hot box" was cold, & lemonade in juice dispenser was just cloudy water. We specifically stayed at the H-I Express in Monroe, & avoided older lodgings, because of wonderful past experiences. Not sure we will do that again - this place needs a lot of attention to get back to standards! I am certain we didn't get our $109+ taxes vavlue on this overnight lodging. I've had better experiences at other locations for much less money & frustration.
