"Stay at Rembrandt Atsugi"
Arrived at 21:30, reservation through Expedia seemed in order until I entered the room and realized they had given me a smoking room. The Expedia choice, in the dropdown indicated non-smoking and to be sure I even requested/entered non-smoking in the comment section of the booking page on Expedia. I called the front desk and requested to change my room, […] first reaction was that they do not have any available, and then they said they do NOT assign/confirm non-smoking room for Expedia reservations! After some insisting, they came up with a non-smoking room but slightly bigger room with a balcony, for which I had to pay an additional amount, not a big deal and worth it to avoid the smoke stench for a whole week! The room was very clean with everything in perfect working order, except no English speaking channels on the TV, but good choice of Japanese shows and cartoons, if you understand Japanese!! The remote control is in Japanese so hard to figure out what you can do with it, until a friend informed me to use a button that changes the satellite band and you can get a small, fuzzy CNN screen, but preferred reading the daily Japan Times for the news. And the hotel has no gym facilities and no arrangements with outside gyms. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Even though i was given a non-smoking room you could still smell cigarrette smoke from other rooms and a lingering smell of cigarette smoke in my room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is conveniently located close to Honatsugi station and the service is good. The staff can manage English. The rooms are a bit old but spacious relative to the other hotels I have stayed at in Japan.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean, comfortable. Large rooms and convenient to train"
09/13/14 tripbuff Boston
Stayed here for business. My room was clean and comfortable, and I slept well. The rooms were more spacious than other hotels, which was appreciated. It was a few blocks walk to the Hong Atsugi station, which made it convenient to transportation. The area is pretty urban, and the nearby streets are loaded with bars and casual restaurants, so there's no shortage of places to eat or have a drink. I would stay here again.
"OK hotel in Atsugi"

I stayed there multiple times. Good for a business trip. Usually clean and neat service. Rooms are smaller compared to western countries but are good size by Japanese standards. Enough room for one person to walk around. Onsite restaurants are little pricey but always consistent. I wish they provide a fitness center. Wifi works only on laptops, it does not work on cellphone/ipad.
"Good Facility and Location"

This hotel is a short walk to Atsugi station and bus terminal. From the airports its possible to ride a non-stop bus to Atsugi. Rolling your bags for the 3-4 blocks to the hotel would not be very hard. There is Still no in-room Wifi. A wireless Ethernet LAN cable is provided. The LAN signal was erratic and sluggish. Some web sites it just did not want to load. Wifi is available in the lobby, but its also pretty weak. Only 1 block to 7-11 and there is an ATM there that takes my US debit cards. If you need cash check right away, as sometimes the network for international banking is down. The room pillows are those super-hard Japanese buckwheat style, and they can double as sandbags during a typhoon! Actually since the pillows are small they fit nicely under my head. Only one pillow is provided, but if you find the cleaning lady and hold up a pillow and make the international sign for "2" (or peace), she will provide another one. A tip to the hotel for improving internet. It is expensive installing wifi coverage throughout the hotel. Consider this: it is possible to purchase and easily install small room wifi units. These small units will plug into your existing LAN, so no installation costs. You could provide them on request, so no need to install them in every room at first. Also, make it a practice to reboot the LAN every night.
Stayed for 6 nights on business. I was not familiar with this hotel and it was recommended by a business associate who had used this hotel for many years prior to moving to Japan. There are no major hotel brands in Hon-Atsugi and you can only find Japanese boutique hotels and I believe Rembrandt is as good as it gets. I arrived late on a Sunday evening, checked in pretty tired after a direct flight from US, got into the room they gave me to find out it was a pretty small, SMOKING room, which I cannot stand. I called the front desk and mentioned that I had booked and requested non-smoking. It appeared that they did not have any, but they did manage to find a slightly bigger room on their non smoking floor (4th) at a slightly higher rate, which I accepted willingly. It was nice not to smell the smoke residue for 6 nights! The room was reasonable, about half the size of a typical US hotel room, good clean bathroom/tub-shower, small fridge, a very small TV with no English channel, although on my last day someone told me about a secret button on the remote (the remote is in Japanese) that gets you a very blurry CNN! Breakfast was not supposed to be included, but somehow they did give it to myself and another colleague at no extra charge (they give you vouchers for each day). There are three restaurants and a bar in the hotel which is nice if you do not want to venture out. My biggest gripe was that the hotel does not have a gym (hard to find in smaller Japanese hotels) and they do not have any arrangements with facilities outside the hotel. There is a very nice, big fitness center close by, from the pictures it looks like a Lifetime Fitness, but I was informed by hotel staff that you have to be a resident of Japan in order to join, there is also a Gold's Gym very close, but did not inquire about that one. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Hon-Atsugi station and close to a lot of restaurants and stores, including 7-Eleven and Lawsons (like 7-Eleven) where you can buy variety of food, necessities, drinks, etc. without breaking the bank. There is a young lady at the hotel front desk (late shift), Mariko (sp?), she speaks fluent English and was very helpful with answering questions, helping with transportation, and she is the one that sorted out my room when I checked in. Other hotel staff speak English but not as fluent.
"Not the greatest, but apparently good for the area"
03/21/13 Jamaica_Jeff Pleasanton, CA
The hotel is old and in need of renovation. The bathroom fixtures are bizarre, and the shower has been set up such that you need to hold the detachable shower head at all times when it could have easily been mounted high and stable so that you didn't need to. The rooms have only wired Internet access, so if you're using a tablet or a MacBook Air you need to go to the lobby to use the wireless. On a positive note, there are good restaurants within walking distance. The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive. Three of us ate a great sushi meal with drinks at a nearby restaurant for what I paid for a meal for one in the hotel's Japanese restaurant. The breakfast buffet is so so as well, but sort of the "only game in town".
"Comfortable Stay in a Good Location"
02/21/13 JamboME Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Very good service here. Rooms tiny, but clean. Internet access is excellent via Ethernet cable. This hotel is not listed on most discount hotel searches. It can be difficult to make reservations as their web site is Japanese only at this time. However the front staff speak English, so you could make reservations via email. A good price for a Japanese busines hotel, just don't have a drink in the bar! its $$$! Breakfast will get you fed western style or Japanese. Its a large buttet and can handle large groups. They often have groups staying here, as well as weddings. Its a short walk to the train station. Also, from Narita or Haneda airport, you can take a bus directly to Atsugi station area, and then walk to the hotel about 3 blocks.
"Average for area"
12/09/12 ReluctantTraveler31 South Pole
Stayed in hotel for 4 nights on a November trip, and 3 nights during a December trip. Room and bathroom quite small, but seem to be average for Japanese standards. The room was somewhat dirty and dingy, and could really use an update (re-wall paper, re-paint). Wifi only in lobby area, ethernet in rooms, which is ok if you are using a lap top, but a bit of a hassle if you are using a smart phone with data roaming off. The breakfast selection is above average (a reasonable selection of western-friendly food), and the lobby and bar are nice. There is no fitness center, but the floors seem to be made of concrete, which allows one to do some excercising in the room without affecting people below (although given the room size, there is a limited amount of movements that one can do). The staff are typically friendly and helpful, and the location is within walking distance of the train station and bus stop. There are also a lot of decent restaurants in the area. Hotel is ok for a short stay, but perhaps something better can be found for longer stays.

Upmarket Japanese small city hotel. Like many Japanense hotels, rooms are pokey and a little dirty. Bathroom on the small side, but not so different to others. Breakfast is good, but can get very crowded. The two restaurants locally are OK, but pricey for the service and quality of food. Staff as always in Japan are friendly and helpful. Could do with a few western TV channels. No wireless in rooms, so no good if you are using i-pad.
"Best for westener choice in this area"
06/24/12 globetravelerNL Emmen,
I stayed here for one night in May-2012. Room was Average size compared to Japanes standard, Hotel was meeting to all my minimum requirements for Good guiet sleep, fast internet, enough toilet amneties and good breakfast. I had business in nearby Isehara and was placed in this hotel after consulting Tripadvisor and discuss with my supplier. Actually the city Atsugi itself is nothing to do in evening... do not know for culture and site seeing in close distance on daytime. Would stay here next time again when in the area.
"Nice Hotel @Small City"
02/20/12 avinashtrivedi72 India
Nice hotel by any standard being located in small city ATSUGI. Good Location, close to railway station, very near to CBD, shopping & nightlife areas. Room size OK however small as compared to any hotel of equal size. Frankly speaking not to expect too much in such small plcaces. Breakfast OK however some asian food options are desirable considering the fact that place is frequented by many visitors from asian countries (inclding India).
