"My wedding night"
It was pretty awesome, the Hilton downtown is beautiful, and everyone is very helpful and nice. The only thing I did not like was housekeeping opening our door at 9:30am while we where sleeping to see if we where still in there.............i found that alittle odd if our check out time was at noon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Good location with walking distance to 6th st. Not much of a party hotel. They did come by twice before we checked out to see if we had left but other than that no problems. "Great, but thin walls"

"Could Be Better"
The hotel's valet was full for the duration of my visit, which was a huge inconvenience. In addition, the attendants seemed incapable of getting taxi cabs to come to the hotel on a Saturday night. Further, the housekeeper arrived at my room at 8:00 am on Monday morning, and returned every thirty minutes until I had left for the day.Genuine Expedia guest review

When I called the desk to ask for the key to the mini bar, help w/ how to get a signal for tv, and a pkt of reg. cofee....... "Poor Experience"
Great Service and beautiful lobby, but the condition and quality of guest room was severely disappointing. Upon first entrance of room, it had a horrible smell. I could see how this hotel may be better, and I was just there at a bad time, but there were too many issues I had to deal with during my 4 days. Lack of hot water. "Second Stay Was Great but not perfect"
My first stay here was perfect. This stay was great as well but not as good as before. First the put us in one of the smaller queen rooms, which was fine nice and clean and comfortable so I can't complain too much. It was busy during the New Year but it seemed like not all of the elevators were running to it took some time going up and down from our […] room. "Hotel oberwhelmed by convention"
Negative: Hotel was completely overwhelmed by convention. Often took 20 min to get to room via elevator. "Love the Hilton!"
Stayed here two nights last weekend and I must say that it was a wonderful hotel experience! The staff is more that helpful and polite. Our room was clean, neat, and comfortable (and the view was incredible). While the pool area was closed for rennovation, I'm sure that the newly upgraded pool will be beautiful (can't wait to go back and check it out […] once it's completed).My boyfriend and I travel quite often and we were both pleasantly suprised by how lovely our experience was at the Hilton. "WHAT HAPPENED TO HILTON SERVICE??"
bellman to help with my bags and after waiting on hold I for 10 min I was told it would be 10-15 to have somebody there. I made 2 trips and did the job myself. Four is the killer. I left my briefcase at a clients office 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel. When I called the hotel I was swithched around 2x and help for 10 min for the hotel mgr who I was told […] was at the top of the stairs. After waiting for another 10 min I hung. Thr mgr called me 1 1/2 hrs later I said they could do nothing. I asked if he didn't have a messenger service in Austin and he said no and didn't offer to direct me to one. Hilton Hotel staff was super nice from the moment we checked in, until the day we checked out. For two days, we did not see our truck! We were able to walk everywhere from our Hotel room.The Starbucks Coffee downstairs was great.The Hotel Lounge Bar was very nice and convenient.The first night I lost my camera and tourist t-shirt we had purchased.I […] was sad because I really thought I'd never see both again. After calling the front desk the next morning, we found out the staff had turned in my stuff to the hotel. A security guard came all the way up to the 26th floor to return my items. Very pleased and surprised by that! And thankful.Only bad thing-we had issues with parking payments when we left. It was not the hotel's fault, but it was frusturating.On our way out, the front desk lady gave us a receipt for our paid parking and a room key to use at the gate.At the parking exit gate, the machine said the card was unrecognized.There was no one out there to help us and cars waiting behind us. So pretty much we had no choice but to pay again.So $80 was paid for two days of parking. Furniture and Carpet are very dated. Bed linens do not stay tucked in and create a mess. Mattress is very dated. It nothing else, PLEASE get new mattresses!!!!! "Located right on the rail station"

"Security issues"
The check in was easy and the room was clean and comfortable. However, the tv was in an armoire that faced the bed so if you wanted to watch tv you had to be in the bed or sitting on the end of the bed. I am not sure if they knocked as I was sleeping. I got up and opened the door and she apologized. Needless to say I could not go back to sleep. Around 1030 I was sitting on the end of the bed drinking coffee and watching the tv when someone put a key card in and attempted to open my door which thankfully again was latched. This time I can assure you there was no knock or announcement of housekeeping. By the time I got up and opened the door (probably not a smart move) the person was gone. SCARY!!! At this point I decided to get outta there. I packed my bags and went to the front desk and asked for the manager. Was OK but if we had known the hotel was a convention center we would have gone elsewhere! Hilton should have notified us that there was a major event happening during our stay that we were not part of, given us an alternative Hilton chain hotel to stay at. The hotel was nice. We didn't do much there other than go straight to our room and sleep. The room was cozy, but not anything super special. When we stayed it was really crowded with a convention which made taking the elevators to our floor take an extra 20 min. Parking was in a garage underground for $20/day, and was full becuase of the convention. […] Parking a truck was not easy either in the tight garage.
