Everything at this place was perfect. I had a great time and so did the kids. The only problem that I had that was fixed was the restaurant was not too good. The sea food was over cooked and did not taste right. I talked to Thomas the manager and he fixed it. What an awesome staff. Everyone was 5 stars. I have stayed at this hotel many times with no problems. This recent trip involved a long wait to check in and the place was dead so I don't know why the gal at the desk was so slow. The machines were tight but the tables were fine. They changed the Timber Lodge restaurant and now it is expensive but it was very, very good. Breakfast is still awesome […] and reasonably priced. This is an old hotel and we were booked into their newer, remodeled section and it was not up to par. The vent fans didn't work, the bathrooms were old and had no water pressure and the carpets were the worst design ever. Worst of all, despite the "do not disturb" sign placed on the door knob, housekeeping came into our room an hour before our wake […] up call and again 5 minutes before our wake up call. Even though we locked the deadbolt, they just burst right in after a quick knock, not allowing us time to answer. The first time we were in bed, the second time I was in the shower. I was mortified! I will never book here again, especially since I can book down the street at a nicer resort for the same price. At the time we made the reservations, we thought being down the street from town in a cabin- like room would be wonderful...WRONG! Montebleu is where we're going next time, for sure. Read more

Some friends and I stayed here for a few days for a birthday getaway to Tahoe. I found the hotel to be mediocre, but priced fairly thru Hotels.com. The pillow casings in my room had old make-up on them, which was disgusting. The maids were very much on top of getting in and cleaning up, however. Had a horrible experience with the steak place upstairs, horrible service; ordered steaks when they were not busy at all and didn't get our dinner until over an hour later, when they brought us COLD STEAK!!! The Latin Fusion place was great, however. Highly recommend them. There was great live music in the bar downstairs on Saturday night. The casino was ok, but you'll do most of your gaming elsewhere. My stay here was less than acceptable. I chose to stay in their Parlor room which was supposed to be an upgraded room from their normal. When we arrived the girl at the check in was very rude. Clearly she was annoyed that she had to look up from her facebook page and help me. Granted it was rather late and most check ins had been completed Im sure, […] but I didnt expect to be treated this way. When we arrived at the room, some one used the bathroom (#1) and the toiled overflowed leaving a huge mess. As it was late, we were pretty frustrated that we had to wait for the maintenance to come and fix it and clean up. Thirty minutes later we could finally relax in peace. Or so we hoped. The rooms are nothing special. The furniture is rustic at best- which you might think is nice since you are in the mountains- but no. Its just old and outdated. This place is about a half mile from Harrah's, it has nice cozy rooms you can park your car right outside. The casino is real low key, and the employees are really nice. It has 2 restaraunts the, and a great Prime Rib Dinner, and the drinks are only 2 bucks!

while we loved the room, I was very unhappy with the quality of service. We could not get extra pillows or blankets seems there was no staff available to bring us up any.I asked for a bellhop and cart for my luggage to be taken down to our van and they bring a cart and drop it at my door instead of assisting us.

If you want to feel like you are in a cabin in the snow this is the perfect place with the hotel amenities. We got a dog room on our trip. The room was standard nothing fancy. The carpets were clean, the bathrooms were clean, the smell of the room was clean. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear people outside and if noisy enough you can hear people […] in the next rooms. The casino is small but convenient. It can be smokey at times. The Timber House Restaurant for breakfast is such an awesome deal. The staff are always prompt and the food is always great. If you wait til after 7pm for dinner however you will have to wait in a line that can be up to an hour long. Overall, we recommend this place to our friends and family. Rooms access are through the parking lot. Is more a motel rather than a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel that as soon as you get in, it protects you from the weather, take your jacket off and feel warm, walk through the aisles and access directly the casino. This is not a good choice.

The room and the staff were good, but I don't recommend this hotel for families. The casino seems to attract some "family unfriendly guests". We actually had to call the reception to complain about the guests in the next room, they were drunk and making huge noises at 4:00AM. The staff acted fast, and in about 5 minutes they were quite.

As I read here the staff is very friendly, unfortunately as soon as we got to the room was pretty cool and we tried to turn the heater on and didn't work. They send us the engeenier and he tried to fix it and nothing, so they decided to give us another room, add that to a 5 and a half hour trip with a little one, usually our trip is 3 hours and a half. […] But overall experience we think that we would go back next year. Loved the place. We got the parlor and it was spatious for the 5 of my friends. Service was great - folks were attentive. We asked for extra towels and blankets and got them immediately. Everything was good except that TV was old, the bed covers were not so clean but the bed sheets were clean. Windows were old and heater/air condition system was inside the room which was noisy. The shower was great and bathroom was very clean. The room had everything that I needed. I would definitely stay in this hotel in future visits.
