"Good value for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
Very well appointed with many amenities. I felt a bit being "cheap" to charge an extra $5.00 for a code for internet connection. Their offer for free internet service, means a single terminal in the main lobby with internet connection. Long line up, and inconvenience. For a daily $5.00 guest can obtain their personal code to use their own equipment in privacy.Other than that, it was a pleasant stay
"nice room in ideal location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
Our double room was small but we live in NYC so we didn’t feel cramped. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. The roof of the Chateau Frontenac was visible from our window. The location in the heart of the historic district and within walking distance of the newer sections is perfect for tourists. We were very happy here, and I doubt you could do much better for the price. Two cautions: (1) you need to check-in at another hotel across the street and a few doors down, as they will tell you when you ring the bell; and (2) avoid the hotel’s breakfast at a neighboring restaurant--it costs $10 Canadian and consists of powdered eggs and such. There is an excellent brunch spot just down the street from the hotel where you can eat well for not much more--it's on the left side as you walk down Rue St Ursule.
"restaurant nothing special"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
although the hotel per se was fine, the location wa quite a distance from the old city, and the restuarant left something to be desired. Having never in my life sent anything back, I actually did send back a salad with ingredients other than what was specified in the menu. the seoncd one was not much better, but I did not send it back a second time. service was barely acceptable.
"Perfect Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 22, 2012
Amazing location, almost every other building on the street was restaurant with any type of ambiance from Italian to Indian and beyond!

"Hotel St. Paul - close to Marche du Vieux Port"
Having been to Quebec City before we knew the location in Lower Town was what we wanted. The restaurant downstairs was nice for breakfast but expensive, but that seems to be true of most restaurants in the city. For dinner the food was OK but did not measure up to price. The manager was very helpful with directions and tourist tips. As other reviewers […] have said, the lighting in the room was very poor and the room was small but quite comfortable and the price was right (thru hotels.com). Read more

The hotel is old and hallway carpet is dirty-you have to pay to park your car across the street-they have no decaf coffee in the hotel room -and none in the hotel-the bathroom is a very awkard set up -the toilet paper is behind your head-the hallways are dark and dingy-not at all what I would call a good hotel.
"Pleasant place to stay"
Very conveniently located with easy walking to Old Quebec City. There's a great market across the street with vendors and foods of all types. Recommend

This was a really cute hotel! It is older, but did have an elevator and a restaurant. The rooms were clean and nice. There was a friendly, helpful staff. The only parking was in the public lot across the street, which was fine. The hotel is a short walk to Old Quebec. It is directly across the street from the free outdoor movie about Quebec (which was […] awesome) and a short walk to the free Cirque du Soleil show. It was about a 5-minute drive to the Montmorency Falls. Read more
"Best Value"
This is the best value in Quebec City. Great price and location. Very nice staff.
"Old World."
My stay at the Hotel was a real treat ! A great location, excellent service and a wonderful in house cafe .The cafe staff was always ready to please. This was my second stay at the hotel and it only gets better !! Recommended
"Hotel le Saint Paul - great location, nice staff"
My husband, and I, and our 1 year old son recently stayed. They were very helpful and provided a baby crib. The hotel was fully modernized but still retained the old building's charm. It's located in the old port section, right across from the train station and the farmer's market. Just a short walk to lower quebec and up the hill to old Quebec. (You […] can't be afraid of hills if you're visiting Quebec city). The only downsides were that the room lighting could have been better and the bed was comfortable, but a bit squeaky. I would definitely stay again. Read more
"Great location, hard bed"
A quiet pleasant hotel within walking distance of Old Town. Very friendly staff. Rooms are a bit small and our mattress was too firm, but otherwise this is highly recommended.
"Fabulous !"
Hotel Le Saint Paul :Wow what a great location . Friendly service and staff..Clean and comfortable . We were very satisfied and would definatly stay there again . Thanks Tina from NY
"Winter Carnival Stay"
The hotel was within walking distance to the Parliament building, which is where Winter Carnival was located. However, the walk was relatively steep and elderly guests may need a cab to help get around. The historic downtown was even closer, with great restaurants nearby. I stayed in the "Superior King" room. The room and bed were very clean, with […] very soft sheets and pillows. Noise was never a concern. While the facade of the building appears historically appropriate for old Quebec city, the interior was quite modern. The showerheads were ceiling-mounted (pointed straight down) with a large, square surface. The sink was equally modern, with an appreciably tall spout, which appeared as a silver/chrome block coming straight out of the wall over a rectangular basin. The water was always hot, with great pressure (even on the top floor). The bathroom was surrounded by black tile. My room did not have a bath tub. Lighting was unique in the room, with lights built into the bathroom mirror, behind the headboard of the bed, and reading lights built into the headboard as well (one on each side of the bed). Power outlets were conveniently located on the side of the headboard, too. One night I went back early to the hotel just because of how comfortable it was. The staff was always courteous and helpful. Wi-fi was available at no charge, with a strong signal. A restaurant on ground-level was quite cozy with a fantastic menu. They particularly have a great breakfast menu, and all dishes were professionally arranged (spiraling, sliced fruit, for instance). I will definitely stay there again! Read more

Across the street from the Farmer's Market. Easy walking distance to the lower old town and upper town. Hotel was comfortable, but nothing fancy. Good deal for the price.
"Hotel Le St-Paul in Québec"
The room was nicely decorated, very modern, and the bed was soooooo comfy. Well located in the heart of Old Québec 10 mins from Plaines D'Abraham and Carré d'Youville. No parking. But there's a municipal parking right in front that's not too pricy. We went there during one of the busiest days of summer and there was still a few spots available which […] was convenient. But I wasn't satisfied with the cleaning service at all. At least the sheet were fresh, but I could swear the toilet hadn't been cleaned. I didn't feel like making a fuss, after all I could be wrong, so I just gave it a good wipe and carried on with my life. The next morning, I did not request the room to be made, but they cleaned it anyways. They didn't even clean the bathroom, but they took the time to fumble in our personal stuff. Things had been misplaced and clothes piled up all dirty and clean mixed up together. That was not pleasant and unfortunately will probably discourage me from going back to this hotel. Read more

"Nice Little Hotel"
This is a nice little hotel. The room was small but very comfortable. The hotel is in a GREAT location, right on the edge of Old Quebec City. The view from the front of the hotel is not good, a gas station and not much beyond it, but that is the only drawback.
"Not bad. Not great. Not what I was looking for."
The location is not in the heart of Old Quebec. It's more on the outskirts. Be prepared to do a lot of walking uphill. It wasn't a bad location, but it was two blocks from any of the real shopping & eating centers. The one thing I really liked about the location was its proximity to the vast indoor farmer's market, which is right across the street, […] as well as how easy it was to get in and out of by car. When I booked this room I was looking for old world charm, a comfortable bed, and a good location .. not unreasonable for the amount I was paying. The photos of rooms seemed to indicate that. However, when we checked in, we were taken to the 3rd floor, which was in the middle of renovations. The newly-renovated room we stayed in was very modern in its decor, black & white everything, angular, and frankly masculine and kind of cold in appearance. It was missing a lot of little things, like towel bars, a place in the shower for your shampoo, or space on the vanity for your personal items. And the bed was the hardest, nastiest hotel bed I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to sleep on. I woke up tired and crying at 4am. The worst part about the newly renovated room was the sadly underpowered dual-flush toilet, which was already plugged up when we arrived. My husband was pretty upset about it, and we immediately complained. When we returned from dinner, the toilet had been unstuck, or so we thought. It kept getting worse. Finally on day 2 he stole the plunger from the housekeeping closet and tried to fix the problem himself, and after several minutes told me to pack my things, he was demanding another room. The staff quickly obliged, though they were surprised that we did not like their newly renovated room. There were a TON of independent little boutique hotels within the old city that aren't on hotels.com .. I'll probably stay in one of those next time. We were moved down to the first floor (floor 2 for us Americans), into a non-renovated room. It was decor Read more

"great for the money"
good location. nice staff.
"good affordable option"
We were happy with our stay at this little hotel. It is conveniently located in the lower Vieux Quebec a few block away from the petit-Champlain quarter, the musee de la civilization and la Place Royale. A gas station and a municipal parking lot are located across the hotel and it is within easy access from highway if you manage to understand the signs […] of Quebec (sometimes the signs are not conveniently located throughout the highways). The restaurant attached to the hotel offers good omelette options. The room was a bit small and a little dark but that's what you probably get in this area as most buildings are old but charming. I would recommend this hotel and would come back. Read more
"Great price"
small room, great location, well worth the money
Fair price, great location, pretty comfortable room, nice bathtub and ok service. The only negative point is the lack of a free breakfast.

"good value"
Stayed here after a splurge night at Chateau Frontenac -- but still thought this was a nice hotel. Not huge, but the staff was polite and friendly and while you aren't in the heart of old Quebec, it feels a bit more real and less touristy (though you are still right by everything, there is an Esso station across the street). City parking nearby is 14$/24hrs […] with privleges. Would stay here again. Read more
"St, Paul hotel"
The hotel is very good indeed. It is close to the station and an easy uphill walk to the old town only about 700 meters away. There is a convenience store in the gas station across the road which is open 24/7. Don't stay anywhere else.

"Convenient & Comfortable Lune de Miel :)"
Finding our hotel online we did not really know what to expect, but were extremely and pleasantly surprised to have booked a perfect hotel for our romantic getaway. The hotel happened to be right in the heart of everything, only steps away from Vieux Quebec. The Hotel was very historic and old-looking from the photos and facade, however the interior […] and rooms were newly renovated and modernized. The king-sized bed in our room was to die for and the multi-nozzle shower was a great way to wake up in the morning. We highly recommend this hotel to future travellers! Read more

"Iggy's Canadian Adventure"
Hotel is superbly located to visist the old town of Quebec on foot. Also check out the market accross the street. Our bed was very creaky but we were so tired every night we just fell asleep, but woke us in the morning. We were out of season so the hotel bar and rest shut early. Rec restaurant called St Malo just along Rue St Pauls, very querky and […] great food, plus the owner / waiter was very eccentric. Read more
"Hotel le Saint Paul in Quebec city - pretty ok"
Pretty decent considering the price. Overall, not a bad place to stay, but perhaps not the most comfortable. The placement of the room was a bit awkward and there were also issues with temperature control in the room, However I would stay again.
"Fantastic"
A real gem! Just outside the city wall. The rooms are lovely and the management extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
"otel Saint-Paul"

Gutes Hotel in guter Lage. Vom Stil würde das Hotel auch gut nach Paris passen. Der Preis ging völlig in Ordnung. Das Hotelpersonal zeigte sich hilfsbereit und unaufdringlich.
