The hotel was nice but there is very little access to the beach view side that you pay more for. I would not recommend paying for the beach side view cause you won't really have one. Two times the air conditioning broke and made our stay uncomfortable. When checking out they offered us a discount on our next stay but I am doubtful if I will ever stay […] there again. It would have been helpful to reduce expectations and let us know that Oceanside didn't mean ocean view. Otherwise we were very pleased with the recently renovated villa although the downside was the one next door was being renovated and at times the noise was almost unbearable. Would still consdier going back though.

The only issues I had with this hotel was the hugh tree or bush blocking my ocean view and the broken towel rack in one of the bathrooms, otherwise everything was great. The bistro had wonderful food.

We LOVED the lodging of the Villas by the Sea! The oceanside villa was awesome! The fitness center needs a little TLC, but overall the villas were clean, perfectly located, and great staff for our holiday stay!

Wife and I just went there to play a little golf and celebrate Thanksgiving together. Having stayed at The Villas in previous visits we kind of knew what to expect although this was the first time we booked a Studio Villa. Other than the refrigerator and the HVAC unit being a little noisy at night it suited us just fine.

The Villas By the Sea Resort is quite lovely and the restaurant (open only for supper) is great, but we didn't get what we booked. We booked a non-smoking room on the ocean with a queen sized bed - we GOT a room as far away from the water as is possible on this property with only a double sized bed. The water in the bathroom was reversed so it was impossible […] to get a warm shower - only cold, hot or lukewarm. We asked for it to be fixed, but never got any resolution to the problem. The bikes, which are perfect for getting around Jekyll Island, were low quality and poorly maintained. Rent from the facility down the road!! Read more

My husband and I live a little over an hour away from Jekyll and visit the island several times a year, we've stayed @ most of the Inns and I'd highly recommend Villa's By The Sea. However, If your looking for lots of "beach" space you may wish to stay farther south on the Island. We look forward to our next visit.

The place was clean but cluttered. The furniture, paint needs updating. The furniture is clean but uncomfortable. The place is dated. 1970s alive and well. They painted the bathtub and the refrigerator white wall paint.

Our condo apparently had been flooded at some point because the 1/2 bath on the main level smelled of mold and mildew. The condo was very nice and had everything needed for a family of five. The daily maid service consisted of someone knocking on the door and handing us clean towels and retrieving the dirty ones. We selected this hotel for a long weekend at the beach. We rented a two bedroom/one bath villa. Immediately upon walking in, we noticed a distinct musty odor that lingered throughout the weekend despite our efforts to eliminate it with Febreeze. The sofas in the living room had stains. The carpet was so dirty, we walked around the entire weekend with […] our shoes on!! The hotel furnishings were drab and dated. When we returned from dinner on Saturday night, we turned on the lights and were greeted by a large cockroach!!! The unit we were in was a 2 bedroom. It was very pleasant, clean and comfortable. Our unit was not totally updated but the beds were comfortable and everything was thought of including dishwasher soap and all the small details. The location is great and I would definately stay there again.

This was my husband's and my second time and we had a nice mini-villa last year, but the one we had this year was absolutely wonderful! The only thing I would improve, which we would appreciate, is to have king size beds. But other than that, I highly recommend Villas by the Sea and we plan to continue going back!

We stayed for 3 nights. The check-in process was good but not exceptional. We located our "ocean side" room which was on the ground floor and our view was bushes well over 6 feet tall but we lived with it since it was next to the walk to the beach and it didn't say "ocean view" in the documents. For the money this was a nice stay. There is a lot for families to do at Villas by the Sea as well as on the island, which we loved. The resturant at the hotel was probably the best on the island.

I have been going to jekyll for 15 yrs now,for some reason,i never stayed here,villas by the sea.i had the best service,people that worked the front desk,treated me like family,even maintenance people were very helpful.i would recomend to everyone,visiting the wonderful, beautiful jekyll island.

We were very disappointed. It is not worth the price we paid, I would have rather stayed in a budget hotel than this one. The decor is extremely dated and random unrelated objects in the room. We saw bugs in the room. An overall regret.

The rooms were nice and fairly comfortable, but the downstairs bedroom had alot of fleas. I was bitten several times and killed several fleas. I feel like the high amount paid for the room, It should have been nicer, and without fleas.

Stayed in a two bedroom beachfront condo. Lobby staff was very pleasant and helpful. Condo was clean and appropriately appointed. View of the ocean was non existent from first floor but could be seen from master bedroom. I am glad we went for beachfront as by the pool it was extremely noisy. Family enjoyed discovering all the sea creatures on the beach […] at low tide. Driftwood beach is just a short walk down the beach for wonderful pictures.
