Optimally located near the embarcadero shops and harbor, yet out of the way of traffic, the inn is a comfortable, clean home base for any Morro Bay stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The receptionist when we arrived seemed a bit abrupt and laid out the hotel rules like a drill sergeant. The view from the room, while described as "Partial" was disappointing because there was no view of Morro Rock and the fishing cranes were not especially attractive. We really enjoyed our large room near the bay, a perfect and quiet location on the south end of town and everything in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and the hotel offers free DVD rentals as well as a good breakfast. This is our number one choice for future stays!

Second visit. Love the way this place feels. Cozy but huge rooms. We walked from our room to the end of the main drag easily. The beds are so very comfortable. The room was nicely furnished and decorated with a usable balcony. There were good views of the water and Morro Rock, partially blocked by adjacent buildings from our 2nd floor room. Hotel is a bit dated but very well maintained and generally quite pleasant. Excellent location very close to the waterfront promenade and restaurants and shops. It appeared that all rooms had at least some view of the bay. All in all a very good experience.

We stayed one night at the Embarcadero on our drive North. The rooms are quite spacious and the location is awesome. Less than a block's walk from all the shops and restaurants, every room has a water view tho I'm sure the top floor has the best. It's obviously an older hotel but they work hard to make it a comfortable stay. Loves = 1.Customer service. […] I requested a knife to dig into my candy apple I purchased downtown, less than 3 minutes later they were at our door with plates and all the utensils. 2.Parking is covered and felt secure. They even provide window squeegees to remove the millions of bugs from the drive. Dislikes = 1.Walls are a bit thin. Not a big deal until the trash trucks go by or the kids run screaming up the halls in the morning. 2.Showers. My GOD. That was the worst shower of my life. Couldn't finish it. A painful jet stream you couldn't change or control. Even my very manly fiance couldn't handle it. Seriously Embarcadero, change your shower heads. 3. Free WIFI is so bad. Non-existant really. We would stay here again. It's a lovely little hotel. But the showers scare me. Read more

The hotel has a great location. You can walk to stores and restaurants. The hotel offers complimentary trolley ride tickets to tour the town. The staff is very friendly. The carport has windshield cleaning items to clean the bugs you pick up on the road.

A little cozy hotel with a covered parking, elevator and all the necessary amenities. The corridor leading to the hotel room looks a bit tired but the room is clean and tidy. The day I arrived was raining heavily and we have 2 very big luggages. Therefore the covered car park which connected to the elevator and reception is very usefully.

Great location in Morro Bay. We literally stepped out of the parking lot and could stroll the many touristy shops along the bay. They even supplied window washing squeegy, paper towels, and water for your car. Really well equipped breakfast, too! We loved the waffle maker. Sure we'll be back.

Generally happy with this choice, with one big exception - thelisting promised a fireplace in our room, and there wasn't one. We were celebrting our aniversary, so this was kind of a big deal. Everything else was as promised, celan and comfortable. If a fireplace is important to you, beware.

My wife and I had our wedding anniversary here and came away very impressed. We've vacationed as a couple and as a family all over the western USA and this is one of our all-time favorites. If you can reserve a specific room, the king full-view fireplace room (such as room 315) is one of the best. From the balcony we had an unobstructed view of the […] harbor, including wildlife like birds, gulls, heron, and also seals! This room is far enough south to have an unobstructed view of Morro Rock too. I think a lot of the rooms will not be able to see Morro Rock, but certainly from our room it was plainly visible. Aside from the view which from our room which was truly amazing, the hotel is very nice. It's an older hotel for sure, but it is nicely renovated. Only the old style 3-knob shower faucets kind of bugged me. There are a number of underground parking spaces so you don't get wet walking between your car and the hotel elevator if it's raining. In the summer I can picture it might be busy enough that all the underground parking gets taken up, but for our November extended weekend trip only about a third to half the underground spaces were taken. The hotel staff was very nice. They had free cookies one of the nights and a catalog of at least 50 or more recent DVDs you can take back to your room to watch on the generous sized flat screen TV. Our fireplace room had a nice gas fireplace that was pleasing to look at and put off a lot of heat. We didn't need to use the room heater at all thanks to the fireplace heat while we were awake and warm covers while asleep. Minor downside; something in the natural gas system for either the heater or fireplace smelled like cigarette smoke, which is odd since it's a non-smoking hotel and nothing should have smelled like smoke. We brought our bicycles and were even told we can keep them on our balcony rather than having to lock them to our car's trailer hitch each night. Although our stay at the Embarcadero was brief as we were driving up the coast, we couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was wonderful - so accomodating. Everything from Check In to Check Our was smooth. The staff was really friendly. The housekeeping service was excellent. We loved the fact that we were at the end of the Embarcadero because the location was very quiet. The walls are a little thin and we could definitely hear our neighbors during the day but there is a policy that you must not disturb […] your neighbors after 10:00 p.m. The last night we were there, we had to have the desk call our neighbors because they were a little loud but they quieted down after that. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay in a cute, well-maintained hotel. We enjoyed out stay at the Embarcadero Inn. The motel is located near the end of a dead end street so there was not a lot of traffic noise. It is close to town, so you can walk everywhere. It is a two star motel, so the walls are thin, but this was not a problem . The room was very clean, well appointed, there was a microwave oven and a refrigerator. […] We had a very nice partial view of the ocean with a balcony.
