The hotel was lovely and the room cozy. Since we were on our way south in the morning, weren't able to use all of the free wine tastings that came with the room. Did use the one downstairs in the shop and it was great. Purchased several bottles of great wine! Friendly staff and the great rate even included a full breakfast in the lovely greek restaurant […] in the hotel. We will stay here again. Just perfect! Thanks. "Great Hotel in Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country"
Had a superb stay here. The room was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Lovely breakfasts although didnt eat in the restaurant in the evenings. Los Olivos may be a little quiet for some but for us it was a perfect way to relax for my birthday. Very peaceful and very handy (by car) for lots of wineries and the little towns of Solvang […] and Buellton. Santa Barbara, with its lovely beach and shopping etc are only 45 mins drive if you want something a little more lively. As guests of the hotel you also get complimentary wine tasting at the Fess Parker Winery, the tasting rooms of Epiphany and Tessa Marie in Los Olivos and also the on site Wine Tasting room in the hotel. Would definitely recommend it to others. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Totally charming and luxurious!"
Love the hotel, love the town, a perfect weekend getaway. Some people must love those feather beds. I like mine harder... but that's a minor complaint.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fess Parker review"
The receptionist was extremely welcoming, and we were given some vouchers for some complimentary wine-tastings in the area which saved us quite a few dollars. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a stylish, luxurious feel. There are some nice touches - coffee and tea-making facilities in the room, cosy fireplace, Molton Brown goodies, and dvds […] are available to hire for free. An ice bucket's provided - with ice machine in the corridor - as you're bound to buy some wine locally! Make the trip up the Foxen Canyon wine trail to Fess Brown's and Rancho Sisquoc (which has a picnic area). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beautiful hotel, immaculate rooms. Our room was on the first ( ground) floor in the building opposite the main building. The disadvantage of such ground floor being that you can hear noise in the room above,in case the guest above you starts walking in the middle of the night,as happened to us. The staff is very friendly. The food in restaurant Petros is excellent: the Greek taste was very good incorporated and the choice of wines abundant. All in all a very pleasant place. The hotel boasts an environmental ,ecological approach.Great. Hence my surprise that the bottled water is Voss, bottled and flew in all the way from Norway. That must leave a bad ecological fingerprint...

This was a perfect place. The inn only has 19 rooms. Ours was appointed beautifully and was quite spacious. Front desk staff was very helpful. The pool area was nice and relaxing with coffee and tea always available. We do not normally dine at hotels having had mixed results in the past, but we did enjoy a wonderful dinner at their restaurant called Petros. Although it is described as Mediterranean, they has a variety of meals that made it hard to choose from. We will definitely return.

This property is wonderful, a tranquil little spot right in the center of town. Walkable to everything you want to do in wine country, and surrounded by so many tasting rooms you're likely to find one that you love. There are two amazing restaurants within the one block of the hotel, and so many cute places to visit right there. The hotel staff were top notch, always on it. The pool area is very cool, and you can get all of the food that they offer in their restaurant, served there. I will go back there, without a doubt. I would give this place 5 Stars except that I was disappointed in it's restaurant. It's good Greek food, and seems to be a local favorite. I usually like more variety in a hotel restaurant, especially if the food tends to be on the heavy side. I ate breakfast there both days of our stay, also, as it was included in the room price. It wasn't remarkable but was satisfying.

We spent a couple of days here, a very beautiful hotel, first rate. They are very accommodating, cordial and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. The restaurant there was first class all the way. The chef even came out and talked to us about how our appetizer was prepared. The room was extremely clean and very beautifully decorated. The fireplace was wonderful in the cool of the morning. If you like wine you will love it here.

Stayed here for four nights when we needed a quiet place to get some work accomplished. This hotel is very peaceful. We stayed in Room 1 which was a suite that included a large living area, spacious wet bar, powder room, bedroom and full bath. The hotel has been recently updated and renovated and is quite lovely. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Food in the restaurant was well done. We had breakfast either via room service or in the restaurant each day which was included in our stay (needed to present vouchers). Although we did not have dinner there, we did enjoy appetizers one evening which were delicious. The hotel is divided into two sections, with the restaurant and main lobby on one side of the street (which is where our room was located) and the pool and balance of the rooms across the street. The pool area is quiet and serene. For us, it was ideal as we could work in our room during the day and then just walk out the door and be right in town when we needed a break. There is also a lounge area that is open to guests to use which we took advantage of when we tired of working in our room. No hesitation that we would return. Only negatives: our bed was WAY too soft for us, and the bed linens were "pill-y" so they felt cheap. Also, each morning either a trash truck or a delivery truck was outside our window by about 6AM (we were on the 2nd floor). If you like to sleep later than this, you may want to request a room where windows face the street rather than the alley.
"Beautiful and Unique Property - A Real Treat"

We were planning a last minute trip and stumbled across the Fess Parker Wine Country Inn here on TripAdvisor. We called to see if they were available for the next four days, and were in luck that they were available. The place sounded charming, and I think it is the first hotel we have ever stayed in where there were no poor or terrible reviews at all. We now see why! This place is as fabulous as it sounds. We stayed in Suite 1 (of the main building (there are two, across the street from each other). We had a wonderful stay. The room was spotlessly clean and large, with plenty of storage space, full and a half bathroom, living room with sofa chairs and a desk, wet bar, small fridge and two large new Samsung flat screens. We booked directly with the hotel but had seen that they had a special book 3 get the 4th free rate from Amex rate running at the time. When we called, the person handling reservations could not get the rate to come up on her system, even though it showed available on-line. The total amount for the stay was similar under either rate plan, but the Amex rate included better amenities. When we arrived and explained this to the manager, she switched us to the Amex rate and provided us with the appropriate amenities (including a delicious bottle of Fess Parker wine and a goody basket of treats). The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the area. The facilities were top notch. We were working, so we spent some time in their lounge area, which was well-appointed, We did not use the gym facilities, but all the equipment looked to be relatively new and of high quality. We also did not use the pool, located in the building across the street from ours, but sat out in that area on two occasions and it was beautiful and comfortable. The restaurant, which we understood was run by a different company was good. Being Greek, I loved it, but it is a bit unusual to have a Greek Restaurant as the only restaurant in the hotel. We ordered both room service breakfast and ate in the dining room (breakfast was included in the rate), and the food was very good. We ate dinner there one of our evening, and it was also excellent. The Taramasalata was some of the best I have ever had. The one area we had a small issue with was with the television remote controls. They have a relatively sophisticated automation system. We actually have the same one in our home (RTI). We could not get the remotes to function properly. We had the front desk person come and help us with it once, but we continued to have issues with it throughout the stay. This is such a minor issue, but we mention it because we know from experience the RTI system can be finicky, and perhaps having the staff double check that it is working, and a card explaining how to use it would be helpful. We took advantage of the wine tastings at all three of the wineries associated with the hotel (and came home with several cases of their wine). As someone who grew up when Fess Parker was a major Disney star, and who watched his shows regularly, the nostalgic images, the books in the room, etc., were an added special treat. We would visit again for sure and would certainly recommend this hotel to our friends.
"Gem in a gem of a town"

This is a remarkably beautiful hotel in a tucked away community wherein the hotel in and of itself makes visiting Los Olivos well worth doing. It is not inexpensive, but any costs disappear as one feels more then fairly compensated by the calm and charm of the hotel and friendly staff. Fess Parker seems to have put his heart and soul into the creation of this remarkable hotel. The amazing number of wine tasting opportunities on the main street up and down from the hotel add to one's enjoyment if one enjoys wine. My wife and I will return.

My second time here on my way back to L.A. from a Monterey business trip. What a jewel this place is. Rooms are immaculate with all the amenities. Very relaxing atmosphere and staff really go out of their way. The property restaurant, Petros, is excellent. The chicken soup might very well be the best dish I have ever had, in my lifetime.
"Small but superb hotel in the heart of wine country"

Had an impeccable experience at Fess this past week. Wife and I were upgraded upon arrival, and the courteous staff made every effort to make sure our stay was a memorable one. The hotel itself was small, but very luxurious, clean, and well maintained. Our room was very spacious, and the bathroom amenities were first-rate. Breakfast was included in our stay and was well worth the extra cost - some of the best breakfast I have had on the road. The town itself is a must for wine lovers, as the streets surrounding the hotel are filled with tasting rooms of all types. The Fess is a bit pricey, but well worth the extra expense. We will be staying here again.

If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing get-away weekend, travel to Los Olivos and say at Fess Parker's. You can spend an entire weekend without getting in your car and taking in the lovely village atmosphere, or you can drive to the countless surrounding wineries for yet more peace and beauty. The rooms are beautifully appointed and luxurious without being stuffy or snobby. The lobby restaurant is lovely, but you can also step out the front door and literally walk to every restaurant or tasting room in town. If you're truly in decompression mode, you could quite contently spend the weekend never setting foot off the property except to cross the street to the spa and pool. My shoulders relax just thinking of it.
