"Great getaway weekend"
Great service and the outdoor shower is fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is exactly the place for a romantic getaway. My husband and I had never been to Napa, but we will be going again and we will stay at The Carneros Inn. Perfect location, beautiful setting and scenery. The modern gym had state of the art, new equipment and a large pool for lap swimmimg, which I love as I like to exercise on vacation. The Cottages […] are clean modern, Beautiful and the bed very comfortable. We couldnt get a late check out, but because we had spa treatments the day before the spa let us use its facilities to shower so we could hang at the pool for a few extra hours before departing for our flight. I literally have no complants about this hotel, just loved it!!! We didnt have time to grab lunch one day before heading out to our wine tour so the Market store on the property put together some delicious sandwiches we ate on our way! "If you want to relax - come to Carneros Inn"
It is a very relaxing place. The rooms are great and the pool is super. Friendly staff. We stayed over Monday and Tuesday which unfortunately meant the only restaurant open on site was the Boon fly Cafe. We must admit we don't understand why not have the farm is not open every day as it is a much more cosy place. If we are in Napa again we will for […] sure come back. "great one night getaway"
cool cottage-style rooms, incredibly nice staff, and complete surrounding "town" with everything you need for a fun and relaxing few days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel puts the "R" of R&R in Relaxation. They make you feel welcome from the moment you pull up to registration and the valet greets you. Then they make you feel like vacation has immediately begun with a glass of wine to enjoy upon check-in. Then you are taken to your room and you never want to leave, except that "Farm" is such a great restaurant […] that you wouldn't want to miss it! Enjoy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful Resort for a Romantic Getaway"
My Girlfriend and I had a great time during our stay and the resort is absolutley beautiful and the staff is great. We only had one small issue with the outside heating lamp (damaged by bees) but the service staff came right away to fix it. We will definiltey be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Carneros Farm/Inn impresses experienced globe trotters"
My husband was enamored with Shadow the cow! He feed her, she licked him and in the pastoral setting of the Carneros Farm - they bonded. Serene and quintessentially wine country vistas delight from every location on the property. The cottages were like havens of solitude from others guests - with modern and comfortable decor and amenities (outdoor firepits, […] BBQ and loung areas with heat lamps for each cottage). The menu was outstanding and enough to put any Yountville restaurant to shame. The staff were pleasant but never obtrusive, knowledgeable but not pushy and friendly but not overbearing. The location is at the southern end of Napa valley and near enough to Sonoma that it is an easy drive. We will be returning ! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Caneros Inn Weekend Getaway"
Caneros Inn was a one of a kind experience. Located in the lower part of Napa close to SF. Does not take long to get to from anywhere in the bay area. All the buildings/restaurants, cottages and grounds are immaculate. Stayed in a harvest cottage with outdoor shower, tub and firepit. Highly recommend for a romantic weekend. Downsides - there were a […] few. Price. If you are on a budget this is not the place to stay. Also location. While close to SF its a little bit of a drive to some of the nicer wineries located in the northern part of Napa around St. Helena and Rutherford. Approx 15 minutes from Yountville with the Boudin Bakery and French Laundry. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Carneros Inn, Napa Valley"
Perfect location for touring Napa Valley. Easy to find from San Francisco airport. The outdoor "lap pool" was amazing. Steaming hot in February in the middle of the night. We had jet lag and swam at four in the morning. Gym - beautiful new equipment. Nice service, helpful people and the Boonfly Cafe for breakfast does great food. Rooms were luxuriously […] equipped too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Amazing Place to tay while visiting wine country!"
04/06/14 Chefv760 San Diego, California
We stayed in an amazing room overlooking the vineyard. We had an outdoor shower that had a window that overlooked the vinyard as well. So fun! Carneros has great wine but it was so nice staying there because one day we did Sonoma and the next day we did Napa. Carneros is right in the middle so it was great! Splurge on the vineyard view or you will be sad you didn't!
"Great for a relaxing break!"
We stayed here during an ill-fated "skiing" holiday when, due to an absence of snow, we diverted to Napa for a few days. We escaped here looking for some relaxing down-time by a pool in an upscale hotel and weren't disappointed. The resort was everything you would expect - clean, modern with staff everywhere. It is laid out like a small village with a premium set on privacy so you don't overlook another room's, ahem, private areas. This does mean a bit of a walk to get up to breakfast etc, but it's not exactly a long way. Other than the breakfast (which was great), we didn't use the either of the restaurants, preferring to stay in our garden by the fire-pit with some take-away and a bottle of wine, but it made for a fantastic evening. The outdoor bath is a nice touch. Nice and relaxing by the pool, with attentive service and - critically - no screaming children..!!! It was lovely and I'd go back in principle - but am conscious there are probably other places to explore in the area, so would probably try somewhere else as, after a couple of days, I think we'd exhausted it...
"This place is AMAZING! But we didn't have to pay for it..."

My husbands company had a weekend getaway at the Carneros Inn last weekend. This place is phenomenal. The grounds look like a little town. The rooms are little individual cottages with their own backyards. Our room was very bright, with a fireplace and heated bathroom floors. The decor was perfect, very Napa Valley w/a hint of modern touches. The backyard was a dream...it had an outdoor soaking tub, rain shower that had access to the indoor shower. There was a fire pit and a lounge area with heaters. It is exactly how I would design my own backyard...(just on a smaller scale). The service at the reception was outstanding. The location of the Inn was great. We rode bikes to a few wineries nearby. The inn provides bikes that you can take out for 3 hours, however, they are first come first serve. We didn't want to risk the bikes not being available and we wanted to keep them longer than 3hrs, so we rented bikes from Good Time Bike Rentals. We had a great time, however, I would warn people that the bike ride is tough...depending on the direction you go, you will be on the busy highway for a little bit, which was scary. Also, my husband and I are in great shape, and the bike ride was pretty tough for us...so if you are hesitant at all, I would just hire a car. We spent our last day at the spa, which was just ok. The spa is pretty small, but clean and has the essentials. Again, we weren't paying, so its hard to say if it was worth the price... Overall our stay was fantastic, especially since we didn't have to pay for anything.
"Bad food bad service bad experience"
03/26/14 Hank S Jerusalem, Israel
The headline says it all. We were sent with poor directions to different areas, none of them had what we asked for. Trying to drive around the grounds was difficult at best. Once we decided where to eat, we were greeted with bad food, bad service and a bad attitude.
"How Green This Valley"

It is impossible to not be charmed by the vistas in Napa/Sonoma, and this quiet little patch tucked between the two, carved out of the farmland and rocky hills that form the region captures so much of that natural charm. It is a little village, or at least feels like one, with clusters of "cabins" a central path, a "town square" neatly splayed on this plot of the Napa valley. The relatively small size allows a real customer focus by staff. The lodging is comprised of separate units made to reflect the farm building and sheds of the countryside with wood and corrugated metal. They are very private, each with an inner courtyard, completely enclosed, wood deck, stone patio, table, chairs and native plantings. Oh, let's not forget, they have an outdoor rain shower as well - you can really be one with nature, all cleverly designed to ensure privacy and seclusion. The cabins are sophisticated with wood burning fireplaces, heated tile floors in the bathroom, and the amenities you would expect in a lux accommodation, plus hotel logo flip flops instead of slippers! The beds are large, with silky smooth cotton linens. A sitting area is near the fireplace. A switch on the wall lets staff know if you do not want to be disturbed or want your room serviced. The exterior is replete with flowers and shrubs, lavender, cherry, jasmine too many to name but the birds bees and butterflies must think they are on vacation as well in this place. Room service is carted to your cabin, and the menu is adequate, but limited for extended stays. We found the items are prepared well and to order. Spa and pool area a a short hike up the hill depending on your cabin location. The spa has a menu with some unique treatments we have not seen elsewhere and they incorporate many local herbs and ingredients in some. They also have cabana like rooms that can open on one end to the outdoors. Both restaurants offer an exceptionally satisfying dining experience, but Napa has a trove of top notch restaurants you will want to venture out to. Bottom line: this is a place I would not tire of returning to again and again. When the weather is mild and sunny, the skies crystal clear, a light breeze is blowing, and the hills have all turned green you will believe you've been granted admission to a corner of heaven.
"Fabulous in every way!"

This is a fabulous Napa hotel. The property is just visually gorgeous and the views from the top are serene and beautiful. From the spa (e.g., couples massage, mani/pedi) to the food (e.g., The Farm) to the rooms (e.g., Harvest Cottages) to the service (e.g., reception, bellmen, room service, housekeeping), the experience is nothing short of excellent.
"I want to go back!"

This is a delayed review but we had such a nice experience here that I thought I should write one. The rooms, the location, the design, the pool, the restaurants - everything was spot on! From the moment we arrived it was special. A glass of wine was given to us during check in. Just what we needed after a long day of travel and we immediately felt more relaxed. Check in was quick and pleasant and we were then shown to our very sweet and well designed cottage (Peck or Mahoney area). It had every amenity we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and outdoor shower were wonderful. Loved the swinging door between the two. Having our own private patio with deck chairs and table (we ate breakfast out here a couple of time) capped off the space. We ate at Farm and it was VERY good. I typically hesitate to eat at hotel restaurants, thinking they are often mediocre, but our experience here was very good. Food was great, ambience was cozy and romantic. We also had "the" donuts from Boonfly - the smaller more casual restaurant, and they were yummy. The pool area is beautiful and we spent a nice amount of time here. After vineyard visits or in the morning. The food here and at the Hilltop restaurant is also good and the drinks hit the spot. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and road over to a local vineyard. This was great fun. Location was good. Maybe a bit far south, but this would make exploring Sonoma easy, too. Yes, it is expensive. But I think competitive with other hotels of similar caliber. Overall we would go back in a second. And hope to one day.
"Worth the splurge"

We stayed at the Carneros Inn in Nov 2013 so this review is a bit delayed. The hotel was recommended by a friend who was married here and I can see why - the property is gorgeous. We booked using a Virtuoso agent and received an upgrade, $100 spa credit, and complimentary breakfast. The free breakfast turned out to be only a $40 credit, which is misleading and in my opinion, poor customer service. however, breakfast at the BoonFly Café every morning was delicious! The coffee and donuts are spectacular! Even with our upgrade, the room was on the small side with not a ton of drawer space. The outside space was enormous and could have been smaller to make the interior larger. However, the room was beautiful with all the best amenities - huge bathrooms with double sinks, large soaking tub, indoor/outdoor shower, heated slate floors, coffee machine and espresso maker, and a small refrigerator with complimentary soda and milk. The outdoor space had 2 lounge chairs with a heater over them, patio set, fire pit, and outdoor bath. The room and property in general is very quiet and so relaxing. The pool and hot tubs looked over the rolling hills and the spa was fabulous. Only downside of the hotel is that its very far from many wineries and restaurants as its located at the southern most point of Napa. Due to the high cost, I'd recommend this hotel if you have the time to enjoy the property and its amenities. If you're in town for a quick Napa weekend, I would stay somewhere a bit more centrally located.
"Not worth the price"

Pros: Location - close to all the wineries and feels secluded from all Privacy: individual cottages Con's: Cleanliness - linen had dark smudges and black stains, grounds had dog poop everywhere. Staff: unfriendly - no eye contact from anyone. They didn't appear to want to be there. Items we used in the room such as shower cap, firewood, etc. were not refilled the next day. Food: We ate twice at the inn and both times the food was bland and came out somewhat cold. All in all, for $600/night, we expected better service and quality. We will not return.
