"quick napa stop on a sunday before busy work trip"
the property is spectacular - the front desk, concierge, housekeeping service was great - the service at the pool by the pool attendants was great but it took way too long to get food on a busy sunday afternoon mid summer after lunchtime they source their food from one of their venues very far from this pool and it was min 30-45 min for food at a 5 […] star resort this normal is unacceptable will stay there again and give the food service at pool another shot! on the other hand boon fly cafe which they own as well went there for dinner exceptional ! "Wife loved it!"
As soon as she stepped into our cottage, my wife could not stop raving about how wonderful the room was. She really loved the design and decor, especially the patio and outdoor shower. Definitely a nice place for a getaway. Also, what's great is that the hotel has several restaurants and it's own market. It felt like we were in our own little town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but a bit disappointing for the price"
The stand alone cottages are lovely. Clean and well appointed. My only complaint is that the mattresses could be more comfortable. Biggest disappointment was the family pool area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great getaway weekend"
Great service and the outdoor shower is fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is exactly the place for a romantic getaway. My husband and I had never been to Napa, but we will be going again and we will stay at The Carneros Inn. Perfect location, beautiful setting and scenery. The modern gym had state of the art, new equipment and a large pool for lap swimmimg, which I love as I like to exercise on vacation. The Cottages […] are clean modern, Beautiful and the bed very comfortable. We couldnt get a late check out, but because we had spa treatments the day before the spa let us use its facilities to shower so we could hang at the pool for a few extra hours before departing for our flight. I literally have no complants about this hotel, just loved it!!! We didnt have time to grab lunch one day before heading out to our wine tour so the Market store on the property put together some delicious sandwiches we ate on our way! "If you want to relax - come to Carneros Inn"
It is a very relaxing place. The rooms are great and the pool is super. Friendly staff. We stayed over Monday and Tuesday which unfortunately meant the only restaurant open on site was the Boon fly Cafe. We must admit we don't understand why not have the farm is not open every day as it is a much more cosy place. If we are in Napa again we will for […] sure come back. "great one night getaway"
cool cottage-style rooms, incredibly nice staff, and complete surrounding "town" with everything you need for a fun and relaxing few days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel puts the "R" of R&R in Relaxation. They make you feel welcome from the moment you pull up to registration and the valet greets you. Then they make you feel like vacation has immediately begun with a glass of wine to enjoy upon check-in. Then you are taken to your room and you never want to leave, except that "Farm" is such a great restaurant […] that you wouldn't want to miss it! Enjoy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My Girlfriend and I had a great time during our stay and the resort is absolutley beautiful and the staff is great. We only had one small issue with the outside heating lamp (damaged by bees) but the service staff came right away to fix it. We will definiltey be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Carneros Farm/Inn impresses experienced globe trotters"
My husband was enamored with Shadow the cow! He feed her, she licked him and in the pastoral setting of the Carneros Farm - they bonded. Serene and quintessentially wine country vistas delight from every location on the property. The cottages were like havens of solitude from others guests - with modern and comfortable decor and amenities (outdoor firepits, […] BBQ and loung areas with heat lamps for each cottage). The menu was outstanding and enough to put any Yountville restaurant to shame. The staff were pleasant but never obtrusive, knowledgeable but not pushy and friendly but not overbearing. The location is at the southern end of Napa valley and near enough to Sonoma that it is an easy drive. We will be returning ! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Carneros Inn, Napa Valley"
Perfect location for touring Napa Valley. Easy to find from San Francisco airport. The outdoor "lap pool" was amazing. Steaming hot in February in the middle of the night. We had jet lag and swam at four in the morning. Gym - beautiful new equipment. Nice service, helpful people and the Boonfly Cafe for breakfast does great food. Rooms were luxuriously […] equipped too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We came here on a very busy harvest weekend. The place was very expensive for what we needed, however we were able to have a great one night (that's all we could afford)!. I would say that the family suite is nice, with a great back patio for some fun at night. The fireplaces were great add to the rooms. My sisters both tried the outdoor showers which they liked. I would probably not come again, but rather stay in a hotel in St. Helena or Yountville, closer to wineries and where you would spend most of your time anyway. And, the price just didn't seem worth it. The one plus was the great concierge that helped us plan all of our activities and meals.

What a nightmare! We checked into the Orchard at Carneros Inn expecting a week of autumn relaxation in beautiful Napa Valley. Aesthetically, Carneros Inn was lovely. We unpacked late afternoon and settled onto the deck of our unit. While our husbands headed out to buy some groceries, my friend and I relaxed by a freshly lit fire. Not long into our respite, we spotted a mouse running through thekitchen/living room area. Minutes afterwards, another appeared. Thinking that they had come in from the open doors on the patio, we called the front desk to have the two mice shooed out. A kind man appeared shortly and placed a mouse trap under the sink. He acknowledge that mice were prevalent in the row of villas where we were staying. When our husbands arrived back at the villa, we unpacked the groceries and opened a bottle of wine. Back on the patio, we watched in horror as several mice began to appear in the kitchen. Soon, they were literally coming out of the woodwork, scurrying out from the cabinets and the refrigerator. To our amazement, when we called the front desk to complain, our request to be moved to another unit was dismissed and we were told there was nothing else available. The kind man came back, but offered little in the way of help. Now the mice were boldly climbing up on the kitchen counter and were even spied in the burners in the stove. What's more, we found mice droppings on the cutting board in the kitchen (which we photographed). This was not an issue of a couple of little field mice--this was a flat-out rodent problem. At this point, we had placed all of the food on the counter in the microwave and were literally placing towels under the bedroom doors to keep the mice from invading our beds. Two and a half hours after our first call, we called the front desk to ask that they move use to another hotel. The night night manager, Jason [--], told us that he was unable to do anything and that there was no regular manager available or reachable to address our issue. We relocated to the Vintage Inn, a beautiful hotel nestled in the town of Yountville, where Maria with guest services greeted us warmly. Our rooms were spacious and wonderfully appointed. The next morning after a delicious breakfast at the Vintage Inn, we called Carneros Inn and were finally able to speak to the manager (whom we were later told was not the manger), James [--]. He denied that there was a problem, despite the tell-tale moused droppings in the kitchen and the fact that the man who brought the mouse trap admitted this was a prevalent problem. His "solution" was to put us back in the same villa with more mouse traps. Not surprisingly, we declined the offer. Mr. [--] was neiher apologetic nor helpful about our experience, telling us it was our problem. Mice plus poor cutomer service was too much. Our experience would have been appalling at a motor lodge, but considering the "five star" rating of our accommodations at Carneros Inn, we were dumb-founded. We cancelled our reservation for the week and will NEVER go back. Bottom line, if you plan to stay at Carneros Inn, bring a cat. Make that two. Better yet, don't go there at all.
"Serene high-end resort"

What a wonderful place to get away from it all. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. While the property is fairly large, it was well laid out and easy to get around. For those not physically fit or not wanting to overheat, you can call for a golf cart, and they come remarkably fast. My room was a well appointed free standing cottage with fireplace, flat screen TV, desk, mini bar (unlimited water/soda) with beautifully appointment bathroom, and if desired an additional outdoor shower. I took advantage of the outdoor sitting area with chaise lounge and overhead heater and used the free wifi to check in at home. The restaurants (all) served up delicious meals and the service in general from check in, to calling the operator, to turn down service to bellman were top notch. Check out the attached pictures then book yourself a room. You can't beat the location.
Nice play to stay with your significant other. The restaurant is great, but make sure to make a reservation. I don't understand why but as a guest you don;t have any advantage to eat in their restaurant. That's the bad part.

My wife and I were staying only one night before heading to San Fran on a weeklong trip from east coast. Within 15 minutes of arriving on the property, I was on the phone cancelling our SF reservation and extending our stay at the Carneros Inn. I am rather picky and I must say everything was perfect. The greeting, the service, the room and restaurants were just awesome. Dinner at the farm and breakfast at the Boon Fly Café could not have been better. We will return for sure again within the next 10 months and plan to stay here. Yes, it is on the pricey side, and I am tight as a tick...however, I feel I received good value for my money!

We had a great experience 2 years ago when we brought a group of 15 for a special birthday celebration. We received very personalized service and it was thoroughly enjoyable. While it was quite expensive, it was what we had expected. This time, with a group of 8, it was a totally different experience. We felt like we were just another group of suckers to pay a high price for nothing special. No one to meet our group. No explanation of the grounds. No turn down service two nights in a row (though they claimed to have tried - a total fallacy!) Dinner at The Farm was completely uninspiring and expensive. The grounds were unmaintained with rotten fruits and a host of flies everywhere on the ground. Ugh! Outside, the furniture is not maintained. Couldn't actually sit in the chairs.Too dirty! Not likely to return anytime soon.
"Solid Hotel in Carneros Area"

This is a unique resort. It is spread out and some spots have a nice view of the rolling hills, mountains, and some of fields of grape vines. Lets make this clear, if you are looking for a room in Napa with a view of vineyards, that isn't happening. However, if you want a well put together room in a quality resort, then this is an ok choice. Our room is lovely. It has a fireplace inside, a sitting area with large flat screen tv, soft drink stocked refrigerator, very comfy king bed, desk, and a very attractive bathroom. The open air, private patio has another fireplace, outdoor shower, water fountain, a couple of lounge chairs and a round picnic table with umbrella. There's a couch in front of the fireplace and it's great to sit outside, sip wine, etc, etc. There is even a heater above the lounge chairs. There are many touches that show the smart design and planning in putting the grounds together. The food, depending upon restaurant availability, is quite good. The staff is trained and friendly. The concierge is helpful and personalize your requests. There is a communal infinity pool with service, comfy chairs, and a great view of the lower part of the valley. The hotel seems sprawling, but it really is manageable. There's a spa, which is small. They feel they cannot let hotel guests routinely in to the locker room (steam and sauna) because of it's small size. Occasionally, they say they'll allow for a guest to purchase a daily pass to use the spa facilities, but make no promises. Must admit, I found that to be a bit strange and not in sync with other nice, guest friendly services at the hotel. There are bikes for use for free. There's a night time bar area. It's quiet, serene, and put together well. My only caution is the location. To be fair, look at a map. This is barely Napa. Way south. If you are planning on wine tastings, restaurants, or other activities in the usual suspects of Napa, Oak Knoll, St. Helena, Yountville, etc., some of these places can be a drive. Other resorts/hotels/inns can be more centrally located.
"a bit disappointing and frustrating"
10/11/14 eh555 San Francisco
I hate to write this review because we have had great experiences at CI in the past. But unfortunately our most recent one was a disappointment. But first let me say that the Napa earthquake happened while we were there, and the staff handled it beautifully. They were calm, poised and efficient, especially at the restaurants where they managed to clean up huge messes in record time. Well done. The rest of the weekend was not so impressive. Our 2BR suite was fine/nice, but not what we were hoping for at $1850/nt (!). Each of the three rooms were a touch small and cluttered (hard to get around). There was almost as much outdoor space as indoor, though very little of it was ever in the sun. Seemed a bit of a waste. And there was a lot of noise from other rooms and driveways etc. We are big fans of the food on site, and it was as tasty as ever. And the grounds remain absolutely gorgeous. The facilities are very nice, but the pool at the top of the hill needs to be bigger and have more chairs. It was extremely difficult to get a seat, even with the VERY strict policy of not allowing saving. Those poor pool boys are tasked with being serious enforcers. At this price point one should be able to get a seat at the pool and be allowed to save a seat for someone without being hassled about it. The chairs are extremely close together and because of the no saving policy, you end up on top of strangers with your companion across the pool, also with strangers. That is if you're lucky enough to get a seat. It's a bit unpleasant and not what you'd expect at a high end resort. But by far the biggest issue we had was with trying to have a dialogue with management about a problem we had at check-in. We had a very disappointing and frustrating experience to start our special weekend (birthday & anniversary), and I still can't get anyone to speak to me about it 6 weeks later. It's completely understandable that no one was available when we checked out a day after the earthquake. But since then I have left voice mails and sent emails to two different people in management without any response. Overall disappointing. We may try CI again in the off season when rates are a bit more reasonable. But I doubt we'll go for a splurge or special occasion again. I know we can have a better experience in wine country for that amount of money (and/or less).

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this unique resort. The staff was so helpful, our bungalow was roomy and private, the food was amazing. We enjoyed our room service breakfast - the ultimate luxury. Wine tastings early, infinity pool and snacks in the afternoon and fabulous dinners at night.... perfect long weekend in wine country!
"Definitely will go again"

The Carneros Inn is great. The cottages are very private and the rooms clean and comfy. LOVE the heated bathroom floor and indoor/outdoor shower. Even if you don't want to use the outdoor shower you can open the door and let the sun shine in. We ate at Farm one night and it was really fantastic. The hotel is situated on the south end of Napa valley so Sonoma is close by. I suppose the only negative is that because it's south its a little drive to Napa (10 minutes) and Yountville (20 minutes).
