"Excellent location and close to everything"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The hotel and staff are wonderful and we will definitely stay there on our next visit to Barcelona! The room was very clean and neat and the daily maid service was exceptional. The front desk staff was very professional and courteous. Wi-Fi in the room was excellent. Walking out of the hotel and looking up at the Cathederal every morning was surreal. Beautiful hotel and wonderful location!

The hotel was clean and neat, the staff very helpful, and the bathroom was great. We also found the price fair and reasonable. The view out of the back of the hotel was not the best- apartment back porches and dirty laundry, so keep the curtains closed.

"Unbelievably Great Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed for a five night family vacation. Our room for three was very nice with a king bed and sofa bed. Efficiency kitchen with dishes and silverware and cookware. Compact refrigerator. Very well located in Eixample neighborhood one block from metro station. Easy walk to many restaurants and the Passieg Gracia or upper part of the Rambla Cataluna. However the BEST was the service of the front desk. Whatever the request they were ceaseless in their efforts to please and accommodate. Information, directions, recommendations for eating and transportation, ticketing. The staff could not do enough for us. This is service that is rare to find in the amenities industry: a true personal touch. My family can heartily recommend the Acacia Suites for a Barcelona vacation. The only negative for some is that it is not located directly on Plaza Cataluna or the Rambla but if you want a quieter neighborhood, with a local feel it is a very nice place.

The Eixample suburb was created 1860–1920 and consequently holds the city’s finest Modernist buildings. The Passeig de Gràcia is the main artery, its wide pavements lined with designer shops and chic cafes. It is also home to Gaudí’s two fairy-tale masterpieces, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, plus many other architectural gems. The undoubted star of the Eixample is La Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s fabulous unfinished emblematic church.

Would not recommend this hotel. The beds were like sleeping on box springs. We asked for another room and all of their beds are the same. The hotel is not in a very desirable location.
"GBB Hotel Aranea - Good Hotel, Good Bargain"
Those who don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel , but want a decent room should consider the Hotel Aranea. My room was fine, and everything from the AC to the bathroom plumbing worked well. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful. It is located not far from Passeig de Gracia, a main shopping/restaurant avenue and less than a 10 minute walk […] to La Segrada Familia, the Gaudi Cathedral. The only drawback I would say was no cable TV only local stations which wasn't much of an issue for me. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Read more
"Great Stay"
This is a very good value for the price. The room was not spacious but acceptable. The personnel were helpful and pleasant. It's a nice neighborhood, quiet and close to Sagrada Familia, as well as metro stops. Finding it from the metro proved to be a consistent challenge, but the hotel is solid.
"Impersonal but acceptable from all points of view."
Fairly decent but minimum of services and contact, expensive 'small' breakfast (coffee+ 2 small danish cookies), (much more expensive full buffet) odd shaped rooms with little space to spare, clean and airy but we were visited by a few ants at the 7th floor (swifttly dealt with by the cleaning personnel, to their credit; ants probably imported by the […] guests before us, not indigent to the hotel, which otherwise is very clean), good location next to Sagrada Familia but this means 20 minutes walk to other sites (to be fair, it's a big city anyway; cannot just walk all over); a good choice at a moderate price. "A little far"
We had a beautiful room, but the location was a little removed from most of what we wanted to see and there wasn't a lot going on in the neighborhood.
"No air condition"
This Hotel did not have air condition in the room for 2 nights. After we complain the offer a small portable fan. The temparature in the room was 84 degrees.
"Away from the crowds"
The Hotel was difficult to find by car as a tree outside covers its name! Arrived with my wife who uses a mobility scooter and was allocated a larger inside room - we tend not to request disabled room as this is not essential. Unfortunately after unpacking we realised that we were on a smoking floor (floor 7), but the room was clean with only a slight […] smell of smoke so we did not ask to be transferred. The reception staff were helpful with various requests and our only regret was that they had tickets for FC Barcelona soccer match which we did not take up as this could have been a highlight of our trip. Hotel serves a light breakfast and there are plenty of cafes nearby if you need something more substantial at a reasonable price. Metro stations Monumental and Tetuan are close by and both are suitable for disabled travellers. Some distance from Barcelona's attractions, apart from Sagrada Familia but ok if you like walking. "Small but great room for the money."
The room had good amenities (AC, nice private bath with shower, safe, good closet space). There was little hotel service (no bellman, just a luggage room). Breakfast started too late to partake in due to a morning flight. We stayed one night at the end of a two week vacation. It was a good choice.
"Hotel Aranea Barcelona - Needs a lot of work"
I only stayed at this hotel for one night and wish I would have gone somewhere else. The front of the hotel looks nice enough and the lobby is all fancy but the room was awful. The walls had scuff marks everywhere, the beds were stiff, the bathtub had hair in it when we arrived to the room, there was no trash can in the bathroom, the TV stand was filthy […] with dust, and the beds moved across the floor if you moved at all while you were sitting on them. Not to mention the walls are paper thin and you can hear all your neighbors lovely night noises. Do not stay here. Read more
"Gbb hotel Aranea"
Nice clean hotel a bit out of town nice staff but avoid breakfast 12euros for hot but it was cold just not nice there are a couple of nice cafes within a few hundreds of metres that were really good and cost about 3euros for a cake and tea or coffee
"GBB Hotel Aranea, Barcelona"
The hotel was located a bit far from the main center of activity, but quiet at night for sleeping. Guest services were minimal, no bell service, store your own luggage before checkin, no ice or ice buckets - you have to go to a market a few doors down and buy ice. Room was small but clean. Continental breakfast expensive for the quality. Would recommend […] this hotel for those not needing to stay in the party district. Read more
"GBB Hotel Aranea Good 3Plus hotel"
this a good hotel near the Sagrada Familia one of the must see atractions in Barcelona, just outside the city centre, ideal for us ,party goers may prefer to be closer to the city centre though. It was a,residential type area, quietat night so sleeping was no worries, which can be a problem athe Spanish do like to party. Overall a very good hotel.

"Aranea Hotel"
As a low cost Hotel for business absolutely fine. View from my room was a brick wall but not crucial given circumstances of my stay.

Read more

"hotel Aranea Consell De cent. Del 444"
Read more
