Barceló Varadero - Guia de Isora 28.22588, -16.83842

Advertised as a 4-star, think it's more like a 3-star. Breakfast mediocre - a good selection but not of great quality. Had lunch one day at the pool bar - dreadful! Room reasonable but furnishings could do with an update - curtains hanging crooked etc. Also as bedroom backed on to street, had to keep curtains closed there all the time. Twin metal beds hard and narrow. If it's just somewhere to put your head down, fine, if you're hoping for luxury try somewhere else.

Quite basic hotel but with a very nice and beautiful pool area. Room had ok standard eventhough everything had to be bought such as dishwashing liquid, salt, peppar, oil etc. Very friendly staff. The entertainment during the evening was very low standard and it felt like the 70´s old charter level. Overall a good standard hotel with no extra frills.

Arrived to find the hotel to actually be converted self catering apartments - around 2* standard, not 4* as advertised. Staff miserable. went for dinner on the first night to find a poor buffet selection of which the hot foot was cold and the cold food warm! Went to the other side of the island for 2 days, came back to find our room had been allocated to someone else and our food thrown away. Was allocated another room only to walk in on a family who were scared at our walking in on their young children - hardly surprising really. All in all and absolute disaster from start to finish and most disappointing from the Barcelo chain whose other hotels have always proved to be very good.

Brukte det bare til overnatting. Spiste ikke ett måltid der i løpet av en uke, men tok et par pils i baren. Enerverende salsamusikk ved bassengene og "festlige" aktivitører som aldri holdt fred. Bingo og all-inclusive-akitiviteter på kveldene - aldri om jeg skal dit!
