This was our first visit to Cortona and it was a delight! Can't say enough great things about the Villa Marsili -- location is great, just on the edge of Cortona, a short 5-7 minute walk to the town center. The hotel's public rooms are beautifully decorated, as was our guest room and we had a wonderful view (we had room 31). Big bathroom with tub and […] shower. The continental breakfast was fabulous - fresh fruit, Tuscan meats and cheeses, breads (loved the whole wheat, seeded croissants), cereals with a huge selection of nuts, dried fruits and goodies to add on, fresh juice selection, and made-to-order cappuccino, coffee and tea. Most of all, the entire staff was warm and welcoming. Julia greeted us enthusiastically when we arrived and made us feel immediately at home -- she spent 20 minutes showing us a map of Cortona and describing the sights. She also gave excellent recommendations for places to dine. Gina and all other staff we met were cheerful and helpful. Can't wait to return!!! Read more

We were warmly greeted upon arrival and helped with our luggage and parking for our vehicle. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the panorama. Unfortunately it was not a great day for the weather, but the hotel was charming and the people were extremley friendly and helpful. We would stay again!

The service and amenities were first rate. I was actually sad to leave. The breakfast was outstanding and my decorated cappuccinos heavenly. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. Stayed here for 3 nights in August . After traveling to over 20 countries I safely can say this hotel was my favorite. It's an unbelievable value for a four star place. Fresh, delicious fruit and salamis, fresh cheeses, yogurts, pastries. The best European buffet breakfast I've ever had. The servers in the morning were genuinely sweet and would go out of their way to make you feel at home. Anytime we needed a bottle of water or a drink they would bring it to us free of charge. The minibar in the room is stocked and is included as well which was so convenient. The front desk staff was soooo patient and helpful and spoke many languages. They were the warmest staff I've ever encountered. Location: absolutely perfect. A bus stop is located literally out the front door. If you walk about 100 feet down the road there is an outdoor escalator that will take you to the main road in Cortona. The hotel is on the edge of a road which is very quiet and overlooks the Tuscan countryside. The outdoor patio is incredibley cute and comfortable, yet private. Recently returned from honeymoon where we stopped in Cortona. The hotel staff was extremely accomodating and besides a great location overlooking the valley, the hotel provided a generous breakfast, happy hour, and post dinner snack. Not the plush beds of the US, but otherwise could not have been happier with our stay.

Fabulous staff and hands on manager, Stefano. The rooms are large and comfortable with free wi-fi. Breakfast were plentiful and a nice variety of foods, along with great coffee drinks. It was located about 2 blocks down the hill from the square which was nice on the weekend nights when the square tends to be noisy. Incredible. I booked one night and ended up staying four. The entire staff was so warm and friendly that it was hard to say goodbye! The room had a view of the valley that was more beautiful than any view I have ever had anywhere. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel.The staff were so helpful and everyone from the cleaning ladies to the office staff couldn't have been nicer. The hotel is convenient for the historic centre. The room was spotless and comfortable, with nice little extras like bathroom slippers. Above all the staff were wonderful - friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. They even parked our car for us on the busy street outside. If you're in Cortona, don't stay anywhere else.

Il personale è molto cortese e da ottimi consigli su come visitare Cortona. Una piacevole sorpresa, la consumazione nel frigor bar in camera è compresa nel prezzo della camera (una rarità). Decisamente in postazione comodissima perchè dispone di posti auto non a pagamento lungo la strada sottostante e in trenta secondi si arriva a piedi nel centro di Cortona. Una piccola vacanza di tre giorni con mio marito e mio figlio di tre anni e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di avere una camera con vista sulla vallata.....che dire....sembrava di essere […] sospesi sulle nuvole, una vista mozzafiato. Il personale sempre presente e disponibile, con tante piccole attenzioni.....la sera al nostro rientro dopo la cena abbiamo trovato in camera un tappeto steso come scendi letto, un cioccolatino sul comodino e il bagno nuovamente pulito e asciugato dalle nostre docce fatte nel pomeriggio. Viene offerto anche l'aperitivo, cioè le bevande sono a pagamento ma c'è un bel buffet di tartine da smangiucchiare. Read more
