Good value for money, good accommodation
"Our Favorite Place to Stay in T.O."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Our room had two minor issues which we reported at checkout. (Refrigerator did not work well due to broken seal on door and toilet needed a little tightening) I will trust the hotel will address these maintenance issues. The suite was clean, comfortable and pleasing for our stay. This is always our first choice of accommodations, so much better than a standard room. The Hotel has simple elegance and a top rate, friendly and efficient staff.

"A poorly done extended stay concept"
This hotel while looks ok from the pictures on this site but apon arrivail i found that it was in fact an apartment a really small and dingy apartment. While i did have a kitchen it was almost useless. The TV made a horrible whine and the carpet wa disgusting. The bed only had sheets and one green motel six style blanket not even a bed spread or duvet. […] DO not go here unless you can't afford anything else. The heat was also on and uncontrollable so even though i was there in February i needed to keep one window open in order to not sweat. Read more

"The GlenGrove suites in Toronto are convenient"
This old, quaint, hotel was very convenient, clean and comfortable. The service was just okay, though, and I was very disappointed that you had to pay an extra $10.00 a day for parking!! That should be included with the nightly rate. Also the wyfi did not work for us during our stay even though we tried to log on with the given code several times. The […] other issue I had were the noisy heating pipes. It sounds like a pipe band was playing all night! I had a lot of trouble sleeping. Even though the rate was good, I need sleep! Read more
"Glengrove Suits"
The hotel is unique and the surrounding area is beautiful scenery. The room had amazing hardwood flooring. There is tons of storage space. The room is kept clean. The kitchen was a wonderful asset to the room, made late night cooking easy. And all rooms have wi-fi, which is also very convenient. I would definitely recommend!
"Better Than What I've Expected"
The room was better sweet. I checked out a room that included one queen and one pull-out bed. I was expecting to a tiny room and got a mini apartment. The spot was chill and location very close to various restaurants. The hotel was also close to the big city. someone that is looking to save money on hotel expenses, i recommend this hotel to you! The […] assistant reception, Mel, was very friendly and helpful. Read more
"Not fancy but good value"
Location was great for my needs and a good price for a Toronto hotel. Everything was clean but it is not fancy e.g. tiles in bathroom are cracked. Bed was comfy. My suite was just behind the antique elevator shaft which was rather noisy. (Quite a retro piece with the brass cage - apparently only three operating like this in Toronto) Thankfully not much […] activity late at night so I did not get wakened much. Fully equipped kitchen and new full size refrigerator. Was like an apartment and would be good value for a longer stay too. Need to bring your hair dryer and there are not too many plugs (none in the bathroom). New flat screen TV. Furnishings were newer and quite nice. Lots of closets around. I did not stay long enough to access other amenities, but there is internet, ironing board available, weekly cleaning service for long stay. Read more

"Older Hotel Suites in the heart of the city"
quite a convenient location and reasonable rate improvements like new blankets, and the pull-out bed for sitting needs to be replaced. You didn't have the feeling of cleanliness when there are holes in the blankets and chesterfield. furnishings are nice, and bed was comfortable good sized rooms, but old fashioned
"Glengrove Suites 2837 Yonge St"
Reasonable, clean but old. Bare wood floors. Lot of character and charm, but basic. Did not use kitchenette, but looked well maintained.
"Glen Grove rocks (well, almost!)"
We are two seniors from London and this was our first time in Canada. The Glen Grove reviews are a mixed bag but this was the nearest affordable and available accommodation to our cousin's apartment. Frankly, we were well looked after and have no substantial complaints. Granted, we were out most of the time and, had we chosen to cook, the kitchen utensils […] are very limited and the knives were blunt. Otherwise, our only niggles were a fridge door that needed lifting to shut and the same for the bathroom door! Just one thing: make sure you know where this is in relation to where you see yourself spending most of your time. Yonge Street is the longest one in Canada - we were told the world - and while the nearest subway (Lawrence) is just 10mins walk and the bus stop just across the road, it is not exactly central to shopping or night life. "Old hotel , just a place to sleep !"
This hotel is quite old but the rooms are Sufficient to sleep. I chose it because it was close to my client's office . As simple as that to sleep , take a shower and head out! Nothing overly special about this hotel, just a place to sleep!
"Convenient location with a home like feel."
This is a smaller sized hotel in an older building with character. Not very hi-tech which some people may prefer, but they do have wi-fi available. The staff is friendly and helpful. The suite that I stayed in overlooks a beautiful old church on Younge Street. There were some renovations needed, but overall I liked the feel of it. Many of the suites […] have already been renovated. There is a variety store and fantastic park that are a two minute walk from this location. Also there are resturaunts and stores nearby. Read more
"Location is the key"
It is so handy to visit friends in the neighbourhood, and close to subway and buses to go further afield and downtown. The neighbourhood there is also quite nice, unlike some downtown hotel locations.
