Nice 3 night stay. Hotel staff nice and friendly. Building showing some neglect. Had frequent problems with room locks, at least once a day for 3 rooms. Pool bar service very slow and understaffed, stood at bar for 10 minutes before I was acknowleged and waited another 15 minutes for drink. Hotel is located right on the water. The beach is very narrow due to erosion caused by storms, but water is clean and clear. Rooms are updated with nice tile work and decor. Grounds and nice and clean. Pool bar and pool are nice. Drinks were great, food was really good. Atmosphere was subdued, but that could be because I stayed one night on a Monday. […] You could find a higher end place in the Rincon area but it would cost $200 or more per night for only slightly better accommodations. There was a problem with the water and we did not have water for one day. the restaurant was dark. Construction on a new deck was very bothersome but the staff moved us after we were bothered by the noise. Overall everyone was helpful and nice.

it was a very nice hoyel and very clean. Nice pool and beach with lawnchairs and there was water activities(jet skis, banana boats and kayaks ) just down the beach.i didn't eat there because they were a little spendy at their restaurant. Only problems I had was now they are charging $10 a night for a fridge(even tho they are in the room and plugged […] in. they have them locked) and there is no coffee maker in room and you have to go to the buffet to get coffee. they informed me that soon they will be charging for the coffee at the buffet and the breakfast buffet is too expensive for just breakfast($14). especially for kids that don't eat that much. town is not far and there is a grocery store just down the road. Rincon of the seas is an older property which packs charm in a "deco" fashion. We enjoyed the flora,fauna and ocean from our balcony, every day. No concrete jungle..The beach was private, quiet and offered great swimming. The room was large, nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed and pillows. We had the use of a refrigerator included in our reservation, […] some guest were charged an extra $10 /day. Internet service is restricted to the open air lobby which has a cool breeze passing through and views of the Ocean. The complimentary Puerto Rican style cafe con latte was delicious and served from 7 am until 10 am. The location is superior to most, close to downtown, easy drive to Domes, lighthouse and Joyoda and the Carribean. The food served at the hotel restaurants was delicious at the end of a long travel day, while relaxing at the beach.. or when escaping the sun for a siesta during lunch. A few suggestions that would go a long way to making our stay even better.; Guest cards vs organge glow in the dark wrist bands to access amenities, availability of beach umbrellas(rental or otherwise) for those of us who are faint of skin, coffee makers in the room for the lazy at heart who want to simply sip in the wee hours of the morning on the balcony watching the sunrise. Overall, this hotel is average. The staff was pleasant and attentive, room was clean and the furniture OK but not especially comfortable. The bar-pool area on a Saturday night was very loud until around 11 pm, with a thumping disco beat that was not to our taste.

Pros: Get the ocean view room for sunset view. I guess if you are going with kids it would be convenient to have the walk-out poolside rooms and you can easily walk to the beach to see the sunset. We paid $300 for a Junior Suite for 1 night. The first thing we saw when we entered the room was a dying (not yet dead) cockroach in the middle of the floor. That was about 10pm right after we checked in. We left the room and went to the lobby to inform the hotel. There was nobody there (because of the hour) except the night guard who said the desk […] person had gone on break. I asked who could get us a new room and was told that only the desk person could do so. Then I asked who was in charge and was told it was the desk person. We had ordered room service already so I told the night guard to call room service and have them deliver our food to the lobby because we weren't going to eat with the cockroach. After 20 minutes or so the desk person returned, called housekeeping, and got us into another Junior Suite. We ate there. The next day we couldn't connect with the internet. We went to the pool area and still couldn't connect. We went to the lobby and then we were told that the internet was only in the lobby. The contract stated it was available and included for in-room with the suite, but it wasn't available at all. It was supposed to be available at the pool area too, but it was not. So, we had to relocate to the lobby and transact several hours of business there instead of in our room. Not good, and not as promised. Nobody ever apologized about the cockroach, but we took video to "prove" it was there in our room squirming around. Read more

Rincon of the Seas offers a clean, prime location on the beach for a great sunset. The pool is a great alternative for relaxing and staying cool in the heat. The staff was very helpful. They quickly responded to some bathroom issues. All in all, Rincon of the Seas is great!

This hotel has a lot of potential, but needs a bit of work. It seems like work was being done (breakfast area being redone), it was low season and quite empty.
