Clean, comfortable, convenient and inexpensive for the neighborhood. I stay here every time I pass through Narita Airport and that is several times a year. Take the JR train or Keisei train from the airport to Narita station and the hotel is minutes away by foot. The rooms are fairly large by Japanese standards and you have everything you need. However, […] the past two stays I have had less than perfect rooms. One had no WiFi and the LAN didn't work either. I spent about an hour on the phone with tech support and finally got spotty WiFi. The other had a sloping entry way that was quite disconcerting. Every time I stepped out of the bathroom, I had to hang onto something because I was afraid I'd fall over backwards. I missed a connecting flight at Narita Airport and was all set to travel in to Tokyo for the night when a member of my flight's crew encouraged me to "take the day in Narita." He mentioned two hotel options -- Mercure was less expensive, so I went for it. Wow. For the very reasonable rate I paid, I prepared myself for the worst. I was so completely […] wrong. The lobby and staff were lovely, I had (plastic) slippers and a cotton night shirt waiting on the foot of the bed, there was access to BBC for English television, a kettle and basic green tea bag, hair dryer, and quite nice shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the admittedly small bathroom. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable I've slept on, but it was clean, the price was right, and I slept quite soundly. I should include part of my delight with my 23 hours in Narita was a morning walk around the sportsplex North of Mercure, jaunt through the town to the Naritasan Temple and surrounding (beautiful!) park. Just a great -- and very unexpected -- experience all around. I should mention that the complimentary Mercure shuttle to/from the airport made this all simple to navigate and their strong included wifi signal helped me rebook necessary travel arrangements due to my missed flight. The restaurants in the hotel were too expensive for my budget but many nearby options were tasty and budget-friendly. Read more

I needed a one night hotel stay that was close to the Narita Airport before my flight home the next day. I was traveling late in the evening from Misawa towards Tokyo via the Shinkasen and needed to take public trans to get to Narita station. After arriving at the JP Narita station, I followed the directions given on the Mercure site from the station […] to the hotel and found it without a problem late in the evening. Once inside, the men at the front desk were very helpful in finding an open restaurant for me and the room was very spacious and very clean. The neighborhood I gave a four because it is a little confusing if you are traveling on foot and there is no real good way to get around other than by taxi (Which I find are very expensive in Japan). The streets are narrow and you have to be careful to stick close to the buildings when walking. But the town is very pretty, and when it opens its eyes first thing, you get a real feeling of suburban life in Japan. I would definitely stay here again, and, perhaps, even give Narita two full days to explore. Read more

One of the reasons I choce this hotel was dubecause I stayed at the same brand when I was in China and it was amazing..but this was nothing like what I expected. The shuttle bus runs approx. every hour, there is no safe in the room, however u can rent one downstairs in the lobby. Japan is well known for being expensive but these kind of services I expected to be included in the hotel fee. We had a day between flights and rather than stay at the airport, we chose this hotel in the town of Narita. It's a nice little town for one day. Plenty of great food, excellent temples for sightseeing and much cheaper souvenirs than central Tokyo. The room was quite small, but for the extremely low price, I can't complain.

The reviews were somewhat mixed but we chose this for the location and convenience to and from the airport. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff spoke very good English, the hotel room including the beds were clean and comfortable, the hotel itself looked well maintained, the breakfast buffet was adequate with American and Japanese food and the location […] was excellent. Going to the AEON and JUSCO shopping mall was so easy with the bus just around the corner. It's ¥200 per person, exact change only, one way. There is a ¥100 yen store there, like our Dollar stores in the states, where you can spend a lot of time just looking for interesting cheap finds. If you're shopping for clothes there are shops from moderately priced to expensive. I was still able to find and buy relatively good priced handbags and fashionable hats. If you want to go to Tokyo, it is best to take the hotel shuttle back to the airport and take the train or limousine bus from the airport to Tokyo. That is straightforward than having to manage the transfers involved if you take the train from the station close to the hotel. There are lots of restaurants nearby the hotel area plus bakery and convenience stores where you can also buy snacks, etc. There is a McDonalds a block away with free WiFi but the signal was so low when we were there we couldn't get a connection. There is no free WiFi in the hotel, you have to pay for Internet. The hotel may still be able to keep your luggage if you have a late flight and you want to still hang out in the area or still go to the mall. Or, the Narita airport has so many shops and restaurants, a mini-mall, so to speak, that can keep you "entertained" if you have a late flight. This was what we chose to do and before we know it we just had enough time to go through security and immigration. Mercure Hotel Narita was chosen for the price and that they had a free shuttle from the airport. It was a last minute choice but it turned out to be a good one. We were able to walk to the Naritasan Shinshoji temple which took us around 15 minutes and enjoy all the little shops that line the street. We usually stay at an airport hote which is in t.he middle of nowhere. Although it is further away and therefore a longer journey to and from the airport we loved the fact that t.his hotel is right in the centre of Narita so we were able to walk out and choose from any number of restaurants. 15-20 mins from the airport with hotel shuttle bus and 1 min walk to JR Narita and Keisei Narita station. A lot of shop and restaurant nearby. rooms are standard but clean and firm beds I wish we had more time to explore this town we could walk to famous Narita Shrine. The hotel's glory days were obviously in the 1990's, but that being said it is clean and well kept. Great for if are you getting in late to Narita airport, but the shuttle bus finishes at 9.15pm. A basic hotel. Room was small but sufficent for an overnight stay. Staff are very helpful and speak English. One block from the train station, 2 stops from the Airport. 10 min walk to the Narita markets and temple area (worth the walk by the way). Excellent place to stay for a lay-over in Tokyo. Lots of local restaurants, even a Maccas if you prefer. Breakfast buffet to suite all tastes. Shuttle to and from the airport was easy.
