"I was asked to pay for WIFI"
08/11/14 Leonid L Shoham
I booked the hotel through the web in advance. Once booking and upon arriving I got a clear statement that the wifi is included in the rate. Once I tried to connect to the internet the message with the price of Br$40/24 appeared. I used to prolong it every 24 hours. When I came to pay the bill at the reception desk I was told that this is the cost. After negotiation a reception lady agreed to make 50% discount so I had to pay Br$ 120 for 6 days use of internet. Also at the restaurant nobody I met speaks a basic English but just a Portuguese. SO no possibility for communication at all there. The rest was Ok, I have no experience in other hotels in Sao Paulo so it's difficult to judge compare with other options at the city. I have no preference to come/not not to come to this hotel during my next trip to Sao Paulo
"Perfect Business Location"

This was my second time staying at the Tryp Jesuino Arruda for business purposes. This time we used this hotel as a base for our company during some meetings in Sao Paulo. There are many hotel options in the Itaim Bibi area and I am happy to say this hotel was a perfect choice for us. It started with contacting the sales department "eventos". Vitoria was extremely helpful throughout the planning process she was on top of our requirements and constant changes. We were able to negotiate an acceptable rate and the reservations were made without a single problem. With short notice, Vitoria was also able to arrange a meeting room at the hotel and we couldn't have been happier with the room. Check in was without incident - 6 of us arrived at the same time. Check In (and check out for that matter) may seem a bit slow for us Americans - but the front desk team was very capable in their English and made each of us feel welcome. The bell hop also managed to organize all 12 pieces of our luggage into the correct rooms. Our rooms were more than adequate, ok - I am known to be a "delicate" road warrior and I am very picky about my room. The bathroom had plenty of counter space for all of my "things" and I really liked having the make-up mirror - though it was a little too high for me. The soap and shampoo was of good quality and having all the other little accessories was nice. The king bed was very, very comfortable and having a pillow menu to choose from was appreciated. Room cleaning was excellent and I looked forward to the chocolate I received each evening. The rest of our team arrived in Sao Paulo the day of the World Cup Final. Our group didn't plan ahead and ended up opening up the bar at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating to our groups request and made many people's first world cup experience in Brasil memorable. We had breakfast included in our room rate. The breakfast offerings were plentiful, the fruit was good, but with being there 10 days, the offerings never varied on each day and having a different option would have been nice to break up the monotony. There are many dining options near the hotel. I would recommend quite a few places down Jesuino Arruda a few blocks toward R. Dr. Renato Paes de Barros. This isn't a super large hotel and we really liked our stay there. We had a very tight budget for our travel and this property is well suited to the "mindful of the budget" type. You will not sacrifice anything by staying at this property and our company was very happy with the location, value and the service the staff provided . This hotel had a variety of folks staying for both for business and leisure purposes. We plan on using the Tryp Jesuino Arruda for all of our subsequent trips to Sao Paulo.
"Decent hotel in nice area of Sao Paolo"
07/19/14 AndrejBolkovic Amsterdam, The Netherlands
A decent hotel with a large nice bedroom. When you enter the hotel you do not immediately feel you are in a hotel as the entrance is quite small. Let's say it gives a homely feel to it. A stated the rooms are good. I only used the breakfast in the hotel. That part is OK and not more than that. Breakfast could offer a better choice of healthier food. If you are for cakes and sweets then it is excellent, because you can even have special cakes. The gym is very very small, was not airconditioned and quite shabby. I used it because I was already there but it did not exactly invite for a return visit. Location is within walking distance of some good restaurants and excellent food. All in all I will return if coming for a future visit. Partially also because the location suits me.

"Good hotel, nice location, friendly staff"
07/01/14 robtoledo Mexico City
This was the third time that I have stayed at this hotel but was the first one with the family and during the World Cup with a completely full hotel. The hotel is very well located at Itaim Bibi neighborhood, breakfast is very good, and staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms, though very small (usual in Sao Paulo), are comfortable. We had a problem with a FedEx delivery that couldn’t be received two days in a row, but the General Manager called to offer apologies and offered free transportation to the FedEx office, so no complains here. Very good experience in general.
"Good location, poor service and instalations"
06/05/14 Gcmdv Weston, Florida
Positive: Well located. Negative: Bad experience The service is bad, nobody welcomes you when you enter the hotel or pass by the reception area The food is terrible (restaurant and room service) Room has a good size, bed is comfortable, but the TV set is minimum, very difficult to watch anything! Gym is a miniature...
"Excellent option in SP"
04/11/14 Enrique R Miramar, Florida
This is a well located hotel in the business district of Itaim in SP. As in most of the Melia hotels in Brazil, attention of the personel, environment, quality of the food and other services are good. Rooms are big enough and higher standard than other options in Brazil, even in the more expensive ones. Definitely one of the good options for business traveling in this city

Stayed here on business. The check-in process took 20 minutes. After I returned home, the hotel claimed they had not received payment...which made no sense because they had my credit card when I checked in and they did not say anything at check out. The Internet service was not functional. I will not stay here in the future.
"Business hotel without personality"
06/05/13 GabrielRJ Rio de Janeiro
Nice rooms, but a bit small for the value. Location is just average as the hotel services and staff. Breakfast is expensive for what it offers and is not worthy. There are better options in the area. Not good value for its price.
