Super 8 Santa Cruz/Beach Boardwalk East - Santa Cruz

This is good place to stay if you want to be close to the beach boardwalk. Friendly staff and very helpful. Decent pricing and would definitely come back for a weekend get away at a great price. Only problem I had is that the iron was broken but no big deal. Cool that they provided a mini fridge and an ice machine too.

The room was a decent size and surprisingly quiet considering it was between the freeway and the parking lot. There was no dining area for breakfast, but it worked fine to bring food back to our room where there was a small table. The desk manager was very sweet and helpful with directions. The location is walkable to the boardwalk and a short drive […] to the UCSC campus. Not too many dining options nearby, but the boardwalk and rollercoasters are just at the end of the street. Location is great for boardwalk or quick car ride to downtown, good restaurants, etc. Fridge, microwave, hair dryer are nice amenities. Breakfast was very lacking & minimal. Napkins ran out, no more danishes, etc.

This hotel was ok. There was never anyone at the front desk, and the housekeepers were very noisy, yelling back and forth at each other. I won't stay there again unless all the other hotels were fully booked.

We had only been to Santa Cruz once before so we weren't sure where to stay. This place wasn't the cheapest but very reasonable. It is a great location and the room was clean and newly renovated. I'm pretty picky as a mom of a toddler but I would definately come back and stay again.

I know. A Super 8 hotel. I have never stayed in one but this had so many good reviews on Hotel.com, we gave it a try. Really a great choice. I would recommend it also. Down the street from the boardwalk. We only stayed one night on a coastal drive, but it was convenient to find, very clean and great people. This Super 8 Hotel is excellent in every way. Affordable, friendly and accommodating staff, POOL, and only a block away from the venerable Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The free breakfast was great too! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Santa Cruz. Cheers!

Pluses: Great location for beach and boardwalk, clean room, prompt and courteous service. Minuses: I had to call front desk at 7am when I realized there was no shower curtain in the room, ice machine didn't work very well, a ton of noise from other guests. Still, we got a pretty good night's sleep.
