"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Not a good a place or price"
The room did not smell good. It's a completed outdated place.
"Murray Hill East Suites"
First: I am a little reluctant to write a positive review of this hotel. I have stayed here several times and they have always been enjoyable stays. This is a hotel type that used to dot the East Side of Manhattan, but has become increasingly rare as these hotels have been "upgraded" to much more expensive accommodations. There are a few little things, […] like the towels probably show more wear than they should and the kitchen has no dish soap or scrubber to allow the guest to clean up (but the maid cleaned everything perfectly each morning). I am reluctant to write a positive review, because next time I may find that you have reservered "my room."!! Read more
"TRULY AMAZING!"
I booked this hotel for a one night Valentine's Day get-away treat for my husband and myself. Since we were staying for just one night I booked the junior suite. To my pure amazement, the room was MUCH MORE than we bargained for. Since we love weekend getaways we know what to expect from a hotel room, but this room was much more than expected. We will […] DEFINITELY book with this hotel again! Read more
"WOW"
I stay in NYC frequently for business, so I have stayed at many, many hotels covering a wide range of prices and amenities. I had actually booked this hotel in error believing it was another hotel I had stayed at previously. WOW -- for less than the price of a room at one of the big name hotels, I had a fully equiped 1-bedroom apartment. I want to live […] there!!!! Read more
A great no thrills hotel 2 blocks from Grand Central Station. With 2 rooms, a full kitchen and average size bathroom you can't beat this place for the buck. This was my second stay in 2 months. I took my 17 year old son for college auditions and he really loved the space we had. My only complaint this time was the slow drainge in the bathtub while […] showering Read more
"Filthy dirty hotel"
No maintenance on this hotel in over 20 years. Filthy dirty carpet (wear socks), paint peeling in the shower and bathroom. Just disgusting!
"Great location"
Great location in midtown Manhattan. Full kitchen let us enjoy our left overs from great restaurants. Lots of room. Love it more each time we stay.
"Murray Hill"
Nice, clean, and comfortable.
"Convenient"
I was with my wife and 2 kids. I stayed at a double bed suite. Very confortable. Bathroom was small. Personell very friendly and eager to help. Short walk to 5th avenue. Safe area.

"Great Staff"
Staff at the hotel was very nice and very accommodating. When I arrived they gave me a VERY nice upgrade for no reason whatsoever. The doormen were very respectful and friendly. The young man at the door doubled as the IT expert and, while he was not able to solve my internet connectivity issues, he was very kind and did his best to assist. Just a really […] nice, simple and easy place to stay. At a great price. Thanks guys! Read more
"excellant"
nice spacious rooms at a great location at a even better price, I hope it remains a well kept secret. No bar but plenty of choices right across the street.

"Murray Hill - nice area and hotel"
Always a great place to stay. They had trouble with the elevator, but the hotel can only contact the hotel company to repair this.
"Great location"
Really liked hotel. Biggest problem-- not very good bed. You never know how important a bed is until you get a bad one

"Murray Hill East Suites"
I was very disappointed with this hotel. I love the location but will not stay here again. It is in dire need of rennovation. The door to my room didn't lock from the outside. Dingy would be the best descriptor of decor. There is no sound insulation and I heard every door bang all night long.
"Murray Hill East Suites good to go"
The Hotel is convenient to GCT, many restaurants and an EZ walk to shopping. Hotel is clean and in good condition. It is a good value for the money.
"Old, but fine"
What a strange hotel! Murray Hill East is a converted apartment building - which we loved. The suites are spacious and quiet and if the furnishings are a bit dated and funny (like, where did they GET some of this stuff?), who cares? It's clean, the staff is great, the beds are comfortable. We will definitely be back.
I was in the city on business and booked hotel last minute based on price. For the money, it was a great value. I would stay there again.

"Murray Hill East Suites"
Made reservations only 2 days ahead because of a change in plans; arrived later in the evening and was upgraded to a one-bedroom: bigger than a lot of NYC 1 BR apartments! Flat screen TV, quiet street, friendly staff. Hard to beat for a central NYC location. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
"Average Hotel in Good Location at Good Price"
In NYC, when there is an event or high season, and hotels are at a premium, you can't be too picky. This hotel is a reliable, clean and friendly older hotel in a good location that can be had at a reasonable price.
"Older, but clean"
This hotel is in a good location. It is an older hotel with old style keys instead of the electronic keys found in newer hotels. It also had older style TVs (no flat screens). More important items such and beds and carpets seemed to be updated or at least well cared for. Customer service was excellent.
"All Things Considered - It's A Great Choice"
The good news first: Having a suite that feels like a one-bedroom apartment for less than the price of a hotel room is a no-brainer. Who could refuse? So what if it's not fancy? So what if the interior designer isn't Martha Stewart? So what if the silverware tray sits on top of the microwave? Hey, at least there's a full kitchen, right down to a dishwasher […] (for the housekeeper). The not-so-bad news: I didn't think the staff was all that accommodating - not only to my needs, but to other guests. I noticed that they were very friendly to some guests (who seemed to be repeat customers), not so friendly - though not outright rude - to me and others. Just a tad indifferent, especially, it seemed, to people who had trouble speaking English. .The bad-ish news: They charge $7.95 for in-room internet access, and although they claim it's free in the lobby, it seems to work intermittently and also seems to depend on where you sit in the lobby which I was only informed of by another guest - not by anyone behind the front desk who I had informed of the problem. Still, I'd go back in a New York heartbeat. Read more

"Murray Hill East Suites"
The hotel is a converted rental apartment building built in the 1950's or 1960's. Suites (former studios and 1 bedrooms) are spacious and reasonably quiet but other than updated bathroom and some kitchen appliances, there isn't anything fresh about the place. The furnishings and carpeting are adequate but hardly recent. The TV, telephones and elevators […] are old. Since there are kitchens in the units, the hotel doesn't offer breakfast. Staff is less than eager to please. Doorman is sometimes there, sometimes not. Internet went down while I was there and the staff seemed uninterested in helping get it fixed. Neighborhood is convenient. It's cheap and clean enough to consider staying there again but it's bear-bones and hardly impressive. No pay-per view. Cable TV only. Read more

"Good Deal"
Convenient to Midtown tunnel. Parking nearby. Walking distance to Times Square and Rockefeller Center. Nice Bars and Restaurants in the area. The Junior suite was spacious and clean. Old furniture and rug but very clean. Great value, would definitely stay again.

"Close to Grand Central"
It's a quick walk from Grand Central, a nice neighborhood. Once you have your luggage stored, you're off on a New York adventure. Staff was very friendly, room was extremely comfortable. For the price, we'd stay there again and recommend it to others.
"Murray Hill"
This is the 2nd time we've had a last minute thing and needed to stay at Murray Suites. I picked it again because of the first stay. It's nice. They have a doorman, 24 hr front desk and the rooms are ample size for NYC. The only thing I really didnt like was that we had an EARLY morning appointment and requested an extra 30 minutes on check out and […] when we got back to the room after the appointment, they had already gone in and cleaned. I don't really care for the idea of anyone coming in to my room if I'm still checked in. We requested no service either. Other than that it's a great little place to stay, prices are fair for what you get, the location is pretty good, depending on where you're going and the front desk staff is great, unless you forgot your toothbrush, then they send you 4 blocks over and 5 blocks up to some store thats open 24 hours because they dont carry any amenties if anything was forgotten. "Murray Hill Suites - Awesome location"
We loved staying at this hotel as the price was affordable and it is close to subway and eateries and on a good day it is a nice walk to empire state building and times square. We loved the location and enjoyed the stay. Only cons were that the room was not clean enough, the sheets were smelly and the couch was smelly. The carpets looked dirty and […] there was a moldy lived in smell in the room when we were expecting it to be fresh and inviting. Still I think it is a good option for people like us who just stayed at the hotel to shower and spent the rest of the time outdoors. Read more

"Murray Hill East Suites Perfect for Vacation Stays"
The suite was well sized. Maid service was excellent. Cleanliness was excellent. My only complaint is that the heat register in the bedroom did not function very well, even after they reported that workmen were working on it that day. The one in the living room was fine.
"Murray Hill East"
Great location and very nice hotel--the room/suite is excellent. Only drawback is that the fitness center is not very interesting--old equipment and little variety.
"Murray Hill East Suites"
Excellent location, helpful staff. good for business or leisure.
"Great suite, great price"
I remember staying here about 30 years ago, and enjoying it. Okay, so it's not the newest hotel in NYC. But the location is excellent (5 minute walk to Grand Central and the subway), the neighborhood is safe, reasonably-priced parking is available within one block, and the room was better than we expected. Our studio apartment for two had three (count […] 'em, three) closets, a comfortable bed, a living room, a small dining area, and a useful and well equiped kitchen. Couldn't be happier, especially because we got it at such a great price. Our friends were envious. We'll be back. Read more
"Murray Hill East Suites in New York"
This was my second stay in 4 months. The location is excellent and the hotel is a good find for the money. I was treated well by the staff and was pleased with the room. My hotel standards are that it be safe and clean...and it was both.
"Pleasantly Surprised"
I chose this hotel for my stay solely based on its location. This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Grand Central Terminal for both arrival and departure. It is also reasonably close to the other venues I planned on seeing while in town. Upon checking in, I was pleasantly surprised that the room had been upgraded to a larger […] suite, which for a NYC hotel room, was incredibly spacious. The upgraded room included a living area, separate kitchen & dining area, separate bedroom, private bath as well as a private roof top patio/balcony off the bedroom. Some of the furniture was a little dated, primarily in the kitchen, but for the price to value ratio, it was an incredible value. I would highly recommend Murray Hill Suites. The service was very friendly, and the accommodations significantly exceeded my expectations. 4 thumbs up =) Read more
"great nyc hotel"
I stay here every time I visit NYC...haven't found accommodations with the same great price and location...its like home away from home...nice restaurants surround it...grand central station is 3 blocks away...and its a short walk to times square and the shopping on 5th and 6th avenues...highly recommended location...
