very small room, excellent breakfast, staff was great except for lady on duty when we arrived fri. morn 5/31, she was rude to my wife and generally unfriendly. 15 walk to beach was good. one block from train station puts this hotel in poor location, but walk two blocks south and neighborhood improves.

I had intended to stay only in Nice to go to Monaco via train, but it was clear the hotel wasn't aware of the schedule times and halfheartedly told me that they knew for sure the train ran every half an hour. Hotel very good overall. Very central, 5 min from train station and ten minutes or less from stores and restaurants. However the Promenaide de l'Anglais is a good 20-25 min walk. FYI. And I am a fast walker. Staff was very very helpful and help me plan my stay of 9 days. Had been in Nice many times before so I explored the lil villages around by bus. […] When you arrive buy a 7 day pass for all buses Lignes d'azur w 15 euros. Saves you money, Norbert was genuinly helpful and extremely good in planning my visits around. His English is perfect and he is the best hotel has. The reception people were very friendly and helpfull, they gave good advices about dining, travel, train, etc., especially Norbert, he was really great and surprisingly speaking Hungarian, he was very helpfull. The breakfast service was a bit poor, if it was a bit more busy, then you had to wait allways to get knives or glasses, etc. The location of the hotel is also good, very easy access from the airport with bus 99 and it is 100 meter from railway station as well. It is 3 blocks from the Nice train station, from where you can get to Cannes or any town in the vicinity quite cheaply (6.3E to Cannes), plus there is a bus stop at the train station where you can catch the Airport express(number 99). The bathroom was clean and nicely appointed, with a generous and very clean tub. This hotel was better than the Hotel Martinez (rated very highly) I stayed in Cannes. The main drag in Nice- Place Massena is within walking distance, plus you can catch a tram for 1E to many options. The bfast at the hotel was not lavish but enough, coffee was good, and they gave a boxed lunch! Free wireless was the cake topper. Real good value and great location- will stay there again! It is amazing that for the price we paid, we not only got a good room in a good location, we also got a welcome drink, breakfast each morning and a lunch to go with chicken salad sandwich, water, chips and sliced apple. The Best Western Riviera was exactly what we read about and why we chose the hotel. The complimentary breakfast and lunch box was perfect for those of us on a budget.......however, we splurged on dinners! If there is a bus tour staying at the hotel beware that the breakfast will be gone by 7:30 a.m. Not only did one group eat everything in sight, they also packed up all the rolls, breads, croissants, ham, eggs, and even the yogurt and stuffed in their back packs. Very rude on their part, and not the hotel's fault. The night before we left, we asked for a wake-up call at 5:00 a.m. and for a taxi to be a the hotel at 5:30 a.m. to the airport. The concierge let us know that coffee and croissants would be available because breakfast isn't normally served until 7:00 a.m. and it they were provided at 5:25 a.m. which was a pleasant surprise. Hotel was well situated for us close to the main rail station (100m) which had a direct bus link to the airport (bus 99) which meant we came out of the airport, got on a bus and got dropped 100m from the hotel. Being so close to the rail station we were easily able to explore Monaco and Cannes which are both only about 30 minutes away. Tram at the end […] of the road if you do not like walking, but only 15 minutes down to the old town anyway. Not the hotel to stay in if you want a nice view or want to be in the centre or in the old town, mainly for sleeping and as a base to start and finish your day. Continental breakfast was included in our price. Staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpfull. Compfortable bed and tea/coffee making facilities in the room along with fridge. We caught the train from Paris and this hotel is just a short walk across the road from the train station so it was very handy. Room was a bit on the small side and we had a problem with the hot water on the first morning whiich they had fixed very quickly. We only had one large towel in the room, and had to ring for a second one. However, when I wanted them to make a phone call to confirm a hotel pick-up time for a tour we had booked for the following day, they wouldn't do it, apparently because they were too busy that time of day - seemed to think it unimportant although our voucher said to confirm the time a day in advance. (The tourist office rang for us, however.) We did appreciate the provided packed lunch. We chose this hotel because it was close to the railway station and (as usual for such a location) the area was not the best and it was a bit of a hike to the main shopping street and down to the coast.
