I have stayed at the Crown Moran many times and have never been disappointed. The neighborhood might shock some at first as will the distance from the heart of London. Neither is an obstacle. I have been here often with university groups with great success. It is a value oriented property with friendly staff....

I knew from reading the reviews that this hotel stay was going to be enjoyable and, in fact, it exceeded my expectations. Even though it's quite a ways from the center of London, I didn't mind because there is a bus stop right outside the hotel and several bus lines run right by there to the Kilburn underground. From there it's an easy journey to any […] place you want to go. Just one word of advice, try to have the correct amount of bus fare ((£2.30 per adult one way) or a five or 10 pound note. It will save you the embarrassment of getting a grouchy bus driver. My companion and I ended up taking the black taxi cabs when the distance was not so great inside London, and the fares were quite reasonable.. The hotel has a beautiful lobby with the original pub just next door and through a door in the lobby. The room was spacious, lovely and spotless. The bathroom is elegant but the tub is deep so if you need one that is easier to get into, let the hotel staff know. The swimming pool was great; large enough and just under 5 ft. deep. There's an in-house dining hall and the full breakfast that's included with the room is wonderful. The dinner menu is somewhat limited but try the rib-eye or chicken breast. Everyone on staff was absolutely helpful, polite and eager to please. If you do need to hire a cab for a day, ask for Alan -- he has a home base at the hotel itself. This was the perfect place to stay! I traveled to London by myself and found the Crown Moran to be in the perfect place (just outside the city but on the Tube line). I am not a well-seasoned traveler but this 4-star hotel could not have been any better! My room was modern, clean and very comfortable. The Crown Moran is a well-maintained hotel in a working class area of London. It is a little-far from Central London, but it was interesting to stay in a non-touristy section. The breakfast was excellent and there is a nice pub attached to the hotel. With the exception of the extremely rude man who checked us out, everyone was professional and courteous. […] I was shocked by his lack of professionalism, but everyone else was fantastic. Initially, we were placed in a room with a broken shower head on the 6th floor, but when we asked for a new room we were given one the following day. The two major problems with this hotel were noise and no heat in our room. There is a lot of street noise (which clearly isn't the Crown Moran's fault) and internal noise. One night during our stay, there was a wedding reception with lots of small children. Not a problem except the children were running up and down the hallway banging on doors. This wasn't at 5 or 6 or even 10 pm, but after midnight. It was ridiculous. We complained, but were politely told that there wasn't anything that could be done. It made sleep impossible and left me wishing (at least for that night) that I had booked elsewhere. I'm no delicate flower when it comes to noise--I'm from NYC for goodness sake--but it was really hard to take. I'd stay at the Crown Moran if you are looking for a nice place that won't destroy your budget. If you are looking for a restful night of sleep and a more centrally located hotel, you may want to consider another place. Read more

The Crown Moran is a beautiful hotel with very comfortable rooms and beds. The hotel was farther from the tourist sights so required a little more travel time. We used the buses most of the time and the bus stop was very close. The closest tube station was about a 15 minute walk but minutes by bus. Though a little out of the way if you are spending a lot of time in central London, the Crown is a great Hotel and Pub. The rooms very very clean and comfortable and the staff was great with any of the requests that we had. The food in the pub and restaurant was especially excellent and we almost didnt feel we needed to leave the hotel to eat or grab […] a drink. Also the complimentary Irish breakfast was great for saving money and charging up before a day of site-seeing. This hotel was very nice as to the size and modernity of our room and bathroom, given the cost. It also has a pool, which unfortunately was closed when we visited due to some repairs, and a gym. The entrance hall was bright and pleasant, and the reception clerks welcoming. Several things, however, detracted from the hotel's initial attractiveness. One, […] it is located in a not very nice neighborhood (Cricklewood) and is rather far from the must-see sights of London. The nearest Tube station (Kilburn) is a long walk away. Getting there or continuing all the way to town by bus (which fortunately stops right in front of the hotel) is the best alternative or by taxi, e.g., to Marble Arch (which is rather expensive - about 28 pounds). Two, the hotel's restaurant is located in an adjoining old building which houses a well-known pub, the Crown, but unfortunately it is not appointed as attractively as the hotel itself. Breakfast is self-serve and traditional English. Dinner is served, but on tables without tablecloths. The food is very bland indeed and the service impossibly slow. The servers are not well informed about the make-up of the dishes on the menu and unfortunately not very fluent in the English language, but nevertheless very polite and trying their best. But the overall impression is disappointing. Three, accommodations for handicapped guests are lacking, e.g., ready access to the restaurant. Overall, this hotel was fair value for the money, but one should not expect much beyond a nice room. Read more

Hotel service is very good. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. Air Conditioner did not work when it was very hot outside. Surrounding neighborhood is very questionable. Hotel is 30 mins from Central London. To get to tube is 20 mins walk or 6 mins bus ride. Hotel is good for the money. Will not stay there during summer.

From all my stays in london, this is where i definetly got my money's worth. The service was very good and most of the staffers are english which is a refreshing change when you consider that most of 4* and below hotels feel like you went ona safari. We stayed 6 nights at this hotel and were in 2 rooms, there was no phone service in either room. The heat was very difficult to regulate, it was so hot almost 80 degrees. The advertised pool and gym were not in service during our stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a work trip. I was impressed by the hotel quality and service, its on a very busy main road, but you wouldn't know this once in the hotel, superb value, meals were fantastic as was the bar service. I wasn't too happy with my room, cleaniness was superb, but my room did not have a window, it was a light box with curtains, […] so was very stuffy, the air con seemed complicated to understand and work. I found the Hotel a great base to use for my 6 nights in London with the nearly Tube Station serviced by buses stopping outside every few minutes. The room itself was roomy and bed better than my own. I found fthe lack of a bar fridge which I'm use to in other hotels I've said at a little off putting but nothing major. The front office staff where […] great to deal with, check in and out was easy, but I mark the staff down because I was incorrectly charged for drinks to my room when I wasn't at the hotel but at a Football match, a mistake the hotel waived when I produced the match ticket to their credit and also the amount a times housekeeping cut corners in making up my room while out on at least 3 of the days I was there. Overall I would find difficulties minor and would recommend the hotel to anyone would is looking a place to base themselves in London for a week. Read more

The executive king room was getting a bit tired. The furniture looks old and worn. I stayed Saturday night overlooking the patio by the pub. I was on the 4th floor. The drunks dudnt stop swearing at other until about 3am.
