The hotel looked nicer online and also was advertised as newly renovated. The elevator didn't work one time we tried it, the room had no towels when we entered and it had a musty smell. The breakfast was good though.

I was happy with my stay overall. The only problem in the room was the thermostat was broken and by the end of my three day stay I had to keep the window open to balance the extreme heat in the room.

It was in a quiet location, no busy highways, airports, loud bars, etc. Very easy to get to shopping and food. Very friendly staff, breakfast was great, rooms were clean. The only thing I didn't like were the pillows. They were too thick for me. Other than that, it was great!

Last time we were here we had a bit of a problem with the heat and being able to regulate it. But we overlooked that as the price was great and the place was clean. This time the heat problem was worse and when my husband talked to someone it didn't really help. We kept a window open a little so we wouldn't overheat. Also i tried to use the whirlpool tub and the hot water ran out before it was half full resulting in a lukewarm bath (last time no problem with this). We would go here again due to the great price for a suite and the convenience of the location to Grand Valley State, but wish the problems could be corrected. Read more

We found the motel to be comfortable, clean and neat. The staff we did meet was always friendly and helpful. Typical complimentary breakfast with waffle maker, cereals, bagles, etc. All was good, fresh and plentiful. A definate, positive change from some Day's Inns we've been to in the past.

The original room smelled of smoke, and the vent filter looked as though it had not been changed in over 6 months at least. We were given a second room, which was better. If you like managers that will flat out call you a liar and spiders crawling all over your room, I suggest staying here. The room was fairly clean. There was a burn hole in the flat sheet on the bed. The front desk worker was very nice but the manager was flat out rude.

My family really liked this hotel It is pretty new and very clean and we got as very good deal on it. If you plan to visit Dutch Village/Windmill Island in Holland it is only 20 minutes away. The elevator was really slow so a lot of people were taking the stairs to the 3rd floor. this used to be a really nice little hotel. The quality seems to have gone down. It's kinda hard to pinpoint the changes from staying there a year ago. The "jacuzzi" suite consisted of little water jets drilled into the bathtub. Speaking of which, there were still some hairs from the previous occupant still in the tub. It took an hour to get a rollaway […] bed, as there wasn't a sofa bed. Everything about the place was mediocre. The room's price was cheap and, in this case, you get what you pay for. The security lock was not very secure but the hotel was very pleasant and quiet, doors coming in and out by front desk. Horrible experience. Manager was insulting, locked our rooms on second night for no reason. Heat was locked at 68 degrees and manager turned off heat completely on second night after finally getting rooms unlocked.

everything was fine until saturday morning when I took my shower the previous guests left their wash cloths over top of the shower rod and house keeping did not remove them. I also noticed that the smoke detector did not have a battery in it. but the only thing that concerned the frt desk attendant when we checked out was the fact that there were 2 […] extra people that stayed in the room with us and that we had to be charged for. i don't think i will ever use the wynngate hotel franchise again infact i will also advise all of my friends to use the choise hotel's the next time we travel. sorry for any inconvienience we may have caused by having two extra guests in our room. This is what I call the hotel from hell. The room they booked us in was aweful. The bed was completely collapsed. It wasn't even sewn together anymore like a mattress should be. You could open it up, and lom at the squised springs. The room was also located next to the plumbing junction for the entire hotel, so every 30 secs was this annoyingly loud […] clank, bang. Went into Lobby, no employees were there. There was a sign that said call this number for service. I called the number, the phone next to me rang 8 times, I hung up. I waited for a total of 10 minutes, called again, this time someone answered from a handheld unit and said they would be right down. The rooms were old and dated. The sink had been removed […] from the bathroom and placed out in the bedroom/hallway area of my jacuzzi sweet. Where the sink was in the bathroom was now replaced with a granite counter built on a plywood box. Yep cheap plywood with orange paint (construction style). It was obvious the sink was there because the paint was faded. There was also a nasty ring of filth in the toilet. I know the price was low, but for a little bit more I could have done a lot better. We stay here because of it's convenience regarding location. However, the breakfast leaves something to be desired. We've stayed here multiple times for the past three years and the breakfast has never been good. So, plan to go somewhere else for breakfast.
