Overall rating is 4 only because there wasn't enough tables for the continental breakfast. I learned that none of the hotels in Ellijay, Ga. have elevators! We were told by the check-in clerk that there's no one who knows how to service elevators. There was only two floors, and we had them take our luggage upstairs for us. Hotel was well kept and everything worked. It was a real disappointment to find that our room was on the second floor and no elivator. Not much fun after a long day of travel to lug all that stuff up the stairs, especialy for a couple that is well beyond prime years. We really enjoyed the hotel. Very clean, friendly staff, convenient location, hot continental breakfast - but the walls and floors were paper thin. You could hear people talking and walking in adjacent rooms. Fortunately, they went to bed early and had no kids. Other than that, you couldn't have asked for better accomodations for the price.

Inconvenient layout for the room. Had two upholstered hard-back chairs, but no chair for the desk/table area and no outlet near it either. Breakfast was typical, coffee was good. Very clean and well maintained, staff friendly, nothing misrepresented.

I've stayed here recently and returned for a seminar on this occasion. The hotel is lovely, with a nice indoor pool I looked forward to a dip in - since it was HOT out. But, I arrived to find that I was in a hotel full of Little League Ball players who ran amok both days of my stay. No way I was getting in that pool! It was noisy and the kids (hey! […] I'm a mom and now a grandmom - I understand it's hard to control them!) were so noisy I barely slept. My suggestion is call before booking to ascertain if there are an "events" in the hotel. Also, I was stuck in a handicap room - really missed the joy of soaking in a bathtub. I wanted a relaxing weekend away from the pressures and noise of the city. Mountainview Inn was perfect for this retreat. Admittedly, finding it was a bit difficult and my GPS didn't help much, but the night auditor guided me in via phone. I feel like it should be called "MountainTOP Inn" for being on such a high hill! Overall, our stay was quite enjoyable with the exception of the 10 pm curfew for the pool and hot tub. We are both 50+ and to be told to leave the pool area at 10 pm seemed a bit extreme.

We could not get the air conditioner to cool the room sufficiently. There was no wifi in our room and we were only steps from the lobby. The grounds around the hotel were unkempt. Overall it was not worth the rate. I would not recommend it to family or friends.

Okay - we only stayed one night, but we got a clean room in what appeared to be a fairly new hotel, with a comfortable bed, great amenities and a spectacular view. The drive up to the hotel was a bit of an adventure, but then, I am a native "flat-lander". I am not sure I'd try that steep slope in winter but any other time of year? Yeah! I love Ellijay...it is a great mountain community. This hotel has a nice hot-tub and the kids loved the pool area. Rooms have plenty of square footage and are clean. The breakfast was average, unless you like biscuits and gravy, then you may have loved it. However, I''m not sure if biscuits and gravy are a daily menu item : )

The Shower did not work. We were told to pull the chain on the shower head. There was no chain on the shower head or anywhere else. When we tried to use the bath tub jets, alot of dead skin come out into the water. This hotel was listed having a heat pool. It was not heated. The hot tub was hot but the jets were not working. There are not many nice hotels in the north Georgia mountains. Very surprised at what a nice hotel this was. Enjoyed the indoor pool and our room view of the mountains. Continental breakfast was just ok but that is never one of my main reasons for choosing a hotel.

Room was as expected, no real blanket on bed, bathroom fan was noisey and towels were small! Tub squeeked when you moved in shower. Room smelled of strong cleaner! Nice location and friendly staff!

Great location with a decent view. No mountain vista but up on a high spot in the area and can see for several miles. On arrival we had the sheets change because of stains. Some of the towles had holes in them and worn quite thin. The bed was decent for a hotel bed. They could invest in new Linens and towls and be a top notch hotel. I marked wouldn't […] recommend to a friend but I would tell them about it and tell them about the quality of the Linens and towls. The Jetted tub was nice in the room we had. Two story building with no public elevator I'm sure they have one for service and handicap but didn't go looking for it. Drive way to the hotel is quite steep but thats the mountains for you. When visiting in Georgia, I expect Southern Hospitality at its best....instead, I got no hospitality. The desk clerk was at least 5 minutes away from the desk with no sign, no indication when she would return, and when she did return, not one hint of an apology for keeping 3 customers waiting. Our room had paper thin walls, so we heard the neighbor's […] tv all night and had the worst night's sleep ever. We will not return to this expensive punishment again. There are other smaller hotels in Elijay that are much better constructed and with much friendlier staff. We paid an extreme amount of money to be treated like this. Sorry! This was our first visit to Elijay to visit family & we found this hotel online. Normally a Best Western would not be my first choice as they are typically known for being a budget motel, but we were not familiar with the area so we thought we'd give it a try. We booked a 4 night stay for my husband & I and our two children. Upon entering our room, […] the first thing we noticed was that the A/C was off, the room was stiffling & smelled horribly musty. We turned it on high & left for dinner & to pick up air freshener while it cooled off. Everything was fine during the night, only to wake up a soaking wet carpet from the A/C to the bed. We immediate told the desk clerk & requested to move rms. We were informed we'd have to wait until that afternoon when a rm came available. We returned around 4pm and were given the rm next door. The A/C was running in this room, however, barely blowing cold air. We turned it to high & again left for about an hour, only to return to a room that did not cool off. We went to the front desk & demanded they check us out immediately. They were unfazed & unapologetic for all the inconvenience we were caused. Fortunately, we found a room at the nearby Microtel Hotel in Jasper about 15 miles away who gave us a suite as they were almost booked solid. Our stay there was very comfortable and the staff very accomodating. Would strongly recommend them. Save yourself the hassle of dealing with the Best Western, Elijay. Proof you get what you pay for.
