My daughter and I were traveling together. When we checked in, we went to our room only to discover that instead of the two twin beds we requested when we booked, we had one twin bed. We went back down to the desk where we got an arguement. She showed me a paper that said one or two twin beds. I showed her mine that said two twin beds. The reservation […] was for two adults. After about a half hour, she reluctantly gave us another room. The second room was not nearly as nice as the first one (not withstanding the bed situation). It looked like the hotel was originally two different hotels that were later combined. Half of the hotel was nowhere near as nice as indicated on the hotels.com website. Our room was in the worse half. The room was small but OK. The bathroom was uncomfortably tiny. The shower was so small you could barely stand in it without touching the walls. The location of the hotel wasn't bad but very far from all the places we wanted to go. We would not stay there again. Read more

I could not have asked for a better experience. Expedia gave me an incredible deal (I paid approximately the price of two nights, for a seven nigh stay). The hotel is four stars, but it could easily be five. Porta Pia / Nomentano is a great location, connected by buses to major landmarks in the city, as well as a metro stop (Castro Pretorio), a five […] minute walk away. The room and bathroom were small, of course, but very typical of European accommodation size standards. The decor is elegant and beautiful. My only objections were to the breakfast and to the limited bathroom supplies provided by housekeeping. The breakfast, if not included, is expensive, and either way is of mediocre quality and limited selection. The housekeeping service did a very good job cleaning the room, but I twice ran out of soap and toilet paper from their failure to replenish it. Service at the hotel was excellent, with most of the staff proficient in English, German, Spanish, and French. Be aware that because it's a four star hotel, you will have a 3 euro / night charge, which is a city preservation tax for your stay. Highly recommend this hotel! Read more

Conviniente location for buses stop that will take you almost everywhere to touristic attractions. Hotel was clean and neat. Friendly staff. Great breakfast, just gets a little crowded. Surprinsly clean and smelling good for being an old building. Could only freshen bed sheets a little more, but we love it!

When the concierge opened the door of our room it was damp, smelly and unbelievable. The bathroom fixtures used to be gold ages ago, now they were all scratched, and worse than that the water would barely come out of the faucets. Forget about anything more bandwidth intensive. - The location: it's not too bad, but you should be aware that this place is at the north/east edge of central Rome where all the sites are. From it to Palatine or the Colosseum (southern edge) is about 3 km, while St. Peters or the Vatican museum (eastern edge) are a bit more than 5 km away. Mind you, the walks involved are quite pleasant and take you through the heart of Rome, so if you enjoy walking it's a perfectly adequate place to stay. Still, if you prefer being more central you should pick something else. - The good: the rooms actually do look nice. Marble and gilded panels and such. The breakfast is sumptuous. They don't hit you with hidden charges. Overall, I'm pretty sure you can find something better / more central at this price. Read more

We we're delayed getting a flight out of Rome and needed to stay an extra night. Turner Hotel Rome was an easy solution close to the train and very affordable. Let me preface this review by saying that I am not the type of person that has a rough time at a hotel, does not let the management try to solve the issues, and then blasts the hotel in the review. My wife and I were excited about the hotel because we got a decent deal on it, it had relatively positive […] reviews, and it was in a great location. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted cordially by a staff member and our bags were brought to our room. We arrived in the morning and apparently that is the time when repairs are normally done on the building, so there was a terrible hammering noise while we tried to sleep. I asked the desk if they could move us to another room or assist in any way and the gentleman said he would, but the hammering continued. We could not sleep and left the hotel. Later when we went to shower, it was clear that the shower had not been cleaned in a while. There was mildew in the shower and a black grime at the bottom of the shower curtain. I informed the desk about this issue and was told it would be cleaned. After we returned to our room later that night, the shower was the same. Overall, we were pleased with the free wife (even though it didn't work in our room), the free breakfast, and the hotel's location; however, I would not stay there again. The hotel would be better served with more attentive staff and renovations to the hotel and its facilities. Read more

The hotel or at least my room was in a state of disrepair, and very dirty with faded and worn wall coverings with holes in the Taffeta, and also worn furniture, dirty bathroom walls and floors, shower door fell apart. I had a "YUCKY" feeling all the time I was there. I took pictures to prove it.

We stayed here for our last night in Italy after arriving from Florence. The property is well laid out and very ornate. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is just steps outside the city walls and there are many restaurants nearby. Free wifi and continental breakfast are an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel.

A great little boutique hotel with a very baroque atmosphere. It was a very comfortable place to stay and their staff were very helpful to assist with recommendations and planning agenda's whilst in Rome. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so to commute to the areas of interest you would need to either walk for approx. 30 minutes or […] catch the Metro which was only a 5 minute walk away. For those with a life-line to the cyber world you will struggle to gain web access, even though Wi-Fi is available and free the range is poor and most rooms don't have a signal. You generally would need to hang around the communal lounge area to get an average signal and even then it's so-so. Breakfast - the staff were very welcoming and pro-active, as for the range of food well it wasn't that great. Unless you're in to eating cakes and super-sweet pastries then you'll be left slightly hungry. Saying that they do offer savoury options of cold meats and a bacon & egg plate at an additional cost although I wouldn't bother because they're not very nice (processed meats and super salty eggs). Overall it was a pleasant experience and a nice option if you're planning a trip to Rome. Read more

There is also a metro station with 10 mins walk to get directly to the old city and a bus stop right out side. This is a lovely hotel in a good location. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which gives you easy access to all the main attractions of Rome. Our room was exactly like the pictures on the website, my only criticism of the room would be the seal around the bath and shower made it look a bit grubby and not in fitting with the rest of the room […] and hotel which was gorgeous. Tips: Nice, reasonable restraunts in neighbouring streets. A great little pizza shop about 50 yds from hotel. If you use the bus you need to buy tickets from the machine at the bus stop and then put them in a machine on the bus to be validated. Apparently there is a 100 Euro fine if the conductor gets on and you haven't got a ticket or it isn't validated. I wouldn't bother with a guide for the Collesseum but would for the Vatican. When you see things on a map they seem far apart but actually are all within easy walking distance of one another. Enjoy! Read more

Overall the hotel was of an acceptable quality, the rooms were comfortable with plenty of storage, the air conditioning was great in one room of our two rooms but struggled to keep the second room at a comfortable temperature, on asking at reception to check it, they said that they would fix it but there was no difference. The bar on the roof top is nice and well priced, and a good way to relax late in the evening. The only problems were that renovations being undertaken in the hotel were noisy from approx 7:30am and the breakfast was not of a suitable standard, the pastries tasted stale and the bacon and eggs were of a very poor standard, cold (being kept warm by 2 candles under the big silver tray) and the bacon was just like slices of ham with bones in it. Location was great, right beside Porta Pia, with plenty of beautiful restaurants within a 3 min walk of the hotel door. Bus stop outside the door with buses that take you to all the important parts of the city, and all the major tourist spots. Read more
