Turner Hotel Rome - Rome

Business or Leisure in my opinion. I didn't get on my flight and I needed a convenient hotel to stay at for the night that was close to the main train station in Rome an that had wifi. I found Hotel Turner had a single room for 56$ and it fit my requirements so I booked it. I was expecting no-frills, just a basic hotel. I got lost getting there, because […] I was in a rush and hadn't looked up proper directions, so I walked into a hotel to ask for a map and directions. It was really fancy and I was so pleased that they were even willing to help me. Funny story - it ended up being hotel turner where I had my reservation. I was shocked that I got such a cheap room at such an awesome place. The staff was very helpful, breakfast included (didn't eat it, but it was available!) free wifi all over the hotel, they even had a lounge with an available desktop computer for use, on the roof they have a very charming patio with chairs and and inside bar. My room was perfect for what I needed. Small, but one person doesn't need much room. And if I wanted to spread out then, the down stairs lounge was available. Overall, I had a great stay there. it was a charming hotel, with a convenient location. not in the heart of things (which I don't particularly enjoy) but so close to the station with all the and buses and even right outside their place the 60 bus which goes to the other main bus area in the city. Great service, clean rooms, the biggest downside was that there were two twin mattresses pushed together to make out queen bed so we were falling through the crack the whole time. Location is great, close to the bus stop and not far from termini station.

My daughter and I were traveling together. When we checked in, we went to our room only to discover that instead of the two twin beds we requested when we booked, we had one twin bed. After about a half hour, she reluctantly gave us another room. The second room was not nearly as nice as the first one (not withstanding the bed situation). It looked like the hotel was originally two different hotels that were later combined. Half of the hotel was nowhere near as nice as indicated on the hotels.com website. Our room was in the worse half. The room was small but OK. The bathroom was uncomfortably tiny. The shower was so small you could barely stand in it without touching the walls. I could not have asked for a better experience. Expedia gave me an incredible deal (I paid approximately the price of two nights, for a seven nigh stay). The hotel is four stars, but it could easily be five. Porta Pia / Nomentano is a great location, connected by buses to major landmarks in the city, as well as a metro stop (Castro Pretorio), a five […] minute walk away. The room and bathroom were small, of course, but very typical of European accommodation size standards. The decor is elegant and beautiful. My only objections were to the breakfast and to the limited bathroom supplies provided by housekeeping. The breakfast, if not included, is expensive, and either way is of mediocre quality and limited selection. The housekeeping service did a very good job cleaning the room, but I twice ran out of soap and toilet paper from their failure to replenish it. Service at the hotel was excellent, with most of the staff proficient in English, German, Spanish, and French. Be aware that because it's a four star hotel, you will have a 3 euro / night charge, which is a city preservation tax for your stay. Highly recommend this hotel! Read more

Conviniente location for buses stop that will take you almost everywhere to touristic attractions. Hotel was clean and neat. Friendly staff. Great breakfast, just gets a little crowded. Surprinsly clean and smelling good for being an old building. Could only freshen bed sheets a little more, but we love it!

When the concierge opened the door of our room it was damp, smelly and unbelievable. The bathroom fixtures used to be gold ages ago, now they were all scratched, and worse than that the water would barely come out of the faucets. Forget about anything more bandwidth intensive. - The location: it's not too bad, but you should be aware that this place is at the north/east edge of central Rome where all the sites are. From it to Palatine or the Colosseum (southern edge) is about 3 km, while St. Peters or the Vatican museum (eastern edge) are a bit more than 5 km away. Mind you, the walks involved are quite pleasant and take you through the heart of Rome, so if you enjoy walking it's a perfectly adequate place to stay. Still, if you prefer being more central you should pick something else. - The good: the rooms actually do look nice. Marble and gilded panels and such. The breakfast is sumptuous. Let me preface this review by saying that I am not the type of person that has a rough time at a hotel, does not let the management try to solve the issues, and then blasts the hotel in the review. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted cordially by a staff member and our bags were brought to our room. We arrived in the morning and apparently that is the time when repairs are normally done on the building, so there was a terrible hammering noise while we tried to sleep. I asked the desk if they could move us to another room or assist in any way and the gentleman said he would, but the hammering continued. We could not sleep and left the hotel. Later when we went to shower, it was clear that the shower had not been cleaned in a while. There was mildew in the shower and a black grime at the bottom of the shower curtain. I informed the desk about this issue and was told it would be cleaned. After we returned to our room later that night, the shower was the same. Overall, we were pleased with the free wife (even though it didn't work in our room), the free breakfast, and the hotel's location; however, I would not stay there again. The hotel or at least my room was in a state of disrepair, and very dirty with faded and worn wall coverings with holes in the Taffeta, and also worn furniture, dirty bathroom walls and floors, shower door fell apart. I had a "YUCKY" feeling all the time I was there. I took pictures to prove it.

We stayed here for our last night in Italy after arriving from Florence. The property is well laid out and very ornate. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is just steps outside the city walls and there are many restaurants nearby. Free wifi and continental breakfast are an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel.

A great little boutique hotel with a very baroque atmosphere. It was a very comfortable place to stay and their staff were very helpful to assist with recommendations and planning agenda's whilst in Rome. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so to commute to the areas of interest you would need to either walk for approx. 30 minutes or […] catch the Metro which was only a 5 minute walk away. For those with a life-line to the cyber world you will struggle to gain web access, even though Wi-Fi is available and free the range is poor and most rooms don't have a signal. You generally would need to hang around the communal lounge area to get an average signal and even then it's so-so. Breakfast - the staff were very welcoming and pro-active, as for the range of food well it wasn't that great. Unless you're in to eating cakes and super-sweet pastries then you'll be left slightly hungry. Saying that they do offer savoury options of cold meats and a bacon & egg plate at an additional cost although I wouldn't bother because they're not very nice (processed meats and super salty eggs). Overall it was a pleasant experience and a nice option if you're planning a trip to Rome. Read more

There is also a metro station with 10 mins walk to get directly to the old city and a bus stop right out side.
