Camere pulite e curate, personale efficiente e pratico.

"city center hotel - old town feeling"
The place is quite difficult to find, no big hotel sign at all. We looked the hotel about 0,5h even we were only 50m from there. Difficult to find parking place close to hotel. Breakfast was quite poor. Rating 4stars is not correct, maybe 2 stars is closer. Positive is ancient environment and hotel stairs with pillars.

"Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo"
Comodo in quanto centralissimo. L'appartamento era collocato in un palazzo d'epoca con sede diversa da quella della reception quindi non si poteva fruire di servizi bar o di una hall. La colazione veniva recapitata in camera all'ora prescelta. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo

"The best location in Genoa"
05/16/15 IPC74 Exeter, United Kingdom
I want to like this hotel and rate it well. I really do. The location opposite the cathedral in the centre of Genoa couldn't be better, and is so convenient. I like the contrast of the modern white minimalist styling with the stucco and shutters of the old palazzo, which I think works well. The bed was a little firm but very comfortable, and the breakfast was good. But there are several little tweaks needed to make this a good boutique hotel. The reception desk needs to smarten up and look less like a hostel. There weren't any glasses in the room to drink from; the shower fitting could be better quality; the toiletries need to be better quality; and the tangle of cables in the corner of the room is ugly and needs thinking about. With just a little thought and effort this could be a really good boutique hotel. But good boutique hotels are about the details, and these are what this place lacks. But it still has a great location and good styling, and I would still recommend it to other travellers.

"Worst reception service ever"
04/07/15 DJNY123 Zurich, Switzerland
The reception of this hotel facilitated the check-in to the apartment we had booked, which is not in their property, but I have rarely received such bad service! The individual in questions was extremely unhelpful, uncaring and at one point plain rude. We did not stay in the hotel, but based on the service I received upon arrival I would not have wanted to anyway!

"Well situated!"

If you want to feel part of the history of this lovely city, try this option, for historical building plus modern updates. We went as a family of moms, grannies and teen kids, and with the perfect location opposite San Lorenzo, it was a great base for exploring. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh, rooms clean and staff helpful.

"Average apartment, poor service..."
12/19/14 molq Istanbul, Turkey
During our trip, we stayed at the Plazzo della Meridiana apartment, which is located about 10 minutes distance to the hotel (where the reception is). The building was very stylish and the location was great however the apartment was poorly furnished and the kitchen equipment was insufficient. One of the major problems is that the utilities in the apartment are unable to use. For example every time we tried to use the oven or any kind of electrical device there has been a blow out. When we contacted the hotel reception about the problem, the only solution they came up with is to show us how to fix it. So during our 10 day stay, we couldn't use the oven/ iron/ coffee maker, which was kind of a reason why we decided to rent an apartment. And the other irritating thing was that the hotel management keep sending people to fix irrelevant problems during our stay. (for example a guy keep coming to our apartment to fix the wifi problem, although we didn't ask for it). So if you plan to stay in this hotel, you should keep in mind that the hotel management is not so professional and you have to deal with the problems you came across to.

"Great potential, much room for improvement"
12/11/14 Fabio R Reggio Emilia, Italy
I have mixed feeling concerning my recent stay at the Locanda di Palazzo Cicala. The apartment I was given (not in the main building, but in the nearby Piazza dei Giustiniani) was huge, stylish and well equipped although not quite clean. The check-in/out procedures were relatively smooth, but as unprofessional as they could be. No services available whatsoever, except for the breakfast (which I couldn't try) and the Wi-Fi connection (not for free). This place has a great potential for being a classy hotel, but many things should be improved for reaching such status.

"Depends what you are looking for........."

The hotel seems to comprise furnished appartments dotted about in the streets and piazza's close to Piazza San Lorenzo. My apartment was spacious, warm (it was December) and fitted with modern furnishings. Breakfast was hand delivered to the door each morning, albeit not at the agreed time and with none at all arriving on the final morning. My apartment was accessed via an elevator in via a coded front door in a side street in the old town. Before 9pm this was fine but the old town in Genova takes on a somewhat more shadey feel when all the bars and shops have closed for the night (before 10pm in winter it seems) and there were some strange characters on the streets. So, my advice is as follows - this hotel is good value for money (109 euros for the large apartment) but the slightly remote location of the apartments means that I wouldn't recommend it for women or anyone intimidated by dark back streets. In the middle of summer when the bars, shops and restaurants stay open late there would be a completely different feel to its location. Also for a couple it provides much more space than a conventional-style hotel. The lady in reception was friendly both days I visited the desk and was extremely apologetic for the 'missed' breakfast, taking 10 euros off the room without any prompting. So in conclusion, it really does depend on what you are looking for

"Wonderful quirky old world beauty"
11/28/14 tuxedoSanFrancisco Florence, Italy
If you want a different memorable experience from the usual small hotel in Genova come to Locanda di Palazzo Cicala. It is well located in the heart of medieval Genova across from San Lorenzo the main Cathedral. The old palazzo has a small number of rooms which are wonderful to spend a few nights relaxing because they are huge rooms like non other. With two excellent queen sized beds that have good linens very nice down duvets covered with white quilted toppers There is a large marble bath room and commodious shower. We had room number 9. I looked in to room number 8 also beautiful a bit smaller. The ceilings are about 18 feet high with 2 huge opening french door windows full height with balconies over looking a small quiet church courtyard. You can hear the evening service music. Breakfast was average normal all good. Particular mention of the staff and family. All were very personable and nice wanting to help out with any problems and recommending places to see restaurants to visit. Aurelio was molto gentile and his mother very very kind and nice. We left feeling this was a very memorable different hotel experience. It is not the most modern although wifi is excellent. But that was its charm.

"A reasonable place to stay a night or two"
11/25/14 oreshetn St. Petersburg, Russia
Stayed in a double room of this hotel for a night. The main building is fairly conveniently situated, if you come by taxi you'll be taken directly to the entrance even though the cars are not allowed in the area. Beware that the main building is not the large one on the photo here, although some of the flats might be actually located in the building pictured. The check-in process was a bit too slow and stressful as no one came downstairs to pick us up, so after some waiting we had to sneak into the hotel with some other guests and pull all our luggage up the stairs to the reception ourselves. The room was clean, however lacked towels when we arrived, but the staff were happy to help. The main problem was a tiny shower cabin with the only shower head fixed to the top of the cabin and water pouring on head with no chance of escaping it.

"A flat in the city center / some good and ok"
09/27/14 Chris T Paris, France
The checking can be a bit stressfull. You need to know that the center of Genoa can not be accessed by car, you need park outside (25 euro a day) and walk with your luggage to try to find the reception located Plazza Saint Lorrenzo. Bad luck, they have no sign and no precise number to help you to locate the entrance when you arrive. Tip: when you have the church on your back, check the small street in the right end corner of the plazza. Then you go to the lift, but you can not enter it. YOu need wait for the staff to come pick you up. Lucky the hostess was great and pro. Then you learn that you need walk another 10 min to find your flat in the nearby streets. They are nice to have one of their staff to guide you. Keep in mind that Genoa is a old nice city which is also a dirty place, it smell urine in most of the streets and you find a lot of "special people" with dogs and more sitting around. It may give you a strange feeling if you go walking with your love at night. The flat we got (125) was nice, a lot of space and 2 floors. Strange art painting on the wall, but beside it nothing bad. Bathroom is ok but small and has a limited supply of hot water. In short, stay there if you are ok with that city. If not, go elsewhere in Italy !

"A nice reasonable hotel!"

We stayed here for a night, and it was value for money. The room spacious, friendly staff and we recommend it!! The hotel is centrely located in the old town. The breakfast was good, well served. The staff was ever ready to assist with our request.
