The stay was enjoyable, the hotel was a little older than some others in the town but well maintained and clean with good staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"More of an oilfield hotel"
I was very disappointed. Our rooms looked nothing like the pictures advertised. Everything was very outdated and our initial room smelled like a dirty ash tray and pot even thought it was non smoking. We asked to get moved, we did, and it still smelt gross- old and musty. It's a place to crash if your working or partying, but I wouldn't stay there again. […] It's not worth saving the $20 a night or whatever it is. It's connected to a pumpkin pub if that interests you. "Good hotel in Slave Lake"
Good hotel with an excellent hot breakfast. The front desk staff was great upon check-in in the evening, although rather indifferent upon check-out in the morning. The front entrance was closed due to construction when I was there, so I entered through the back. However, this wasn't clearly indicated on the evening I was there. Overall a good hotel. "Very good hotel for the cost."
Stayed one night. Good place to stay and good complimentary breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
the front desk seemed to give no effort into any process of booking, changing or checking out of rooms. Asked to pay the night before so I didnt have to get up early to deal with it before I left but was told just to do it in the morning to make things easier for them. the rooms were loud and the bathroom pipes had HORRIBLE water hammer. very old and […] not well kept. they may show updated pictures but I didnt not get an updated room. this is an old hotel and they put on a show but when you try to book with a deal they send you right to the grimy rooms. not impressed. they shouldnt be charging anywhere near what they are. use another hotel if possible or make sure you get an updated room. "Not a nice hotel!"
Hotel doesn't have a jacuzzi and steam room as advertised. Staff were not very helpful (except the front desk guy with the pony tail). Asked for a non smoking room and got the stinkiest smoking room ever. Would never stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Definitely requires some renovationa nd updating, but very quiet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unfriendly Reception - Sawridge, Slave Lake"
Your reception clerk on duty on Aug.5/12 has a cultural problem dealing with females as equals. We phoned ahead to advise of our late arrival. My wife entered to check us in while I parked & emptied the car. After an unusually long period to time I joined her to see why the delay. The clerk would not acknowledge any of the conditions of our reservation. […] ie. 1) no record of 2 queen beds; 2)no non-smoking room on the main level - and on and on. He wanted her to take a room on the second floor with one bed and that was all they had. She offered to show him the reservation number and her printed copy of the reservation but he was not interested in even looking at it. When I entered the discussion all our reservation specifics were suddenly available. He did give us a room where the dead bolt was not yet fitted into the door jam. He tried to convince me it didn't matter as the door couldn't be opened from the outside anyway. When I didn't buy it he gave us a nearby room with a properly fitted dead bolt. Why was any of this necessary ?!!! The parking lot was 60% empty so we knew they were not anywhere near capacity. What reason would such a person have to make it difficult for a female to conduct business with him? PS. your morning staff was excellent (like a breath of fresh) and the complementary breakfast was equally excellent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
stayed here many times always have good experience when I saty here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was very hot and I was put to the very very farthest corner of the hotel, and up one level. Couldn;t get any further away from the front desk and restaurant. Food was excellent and service of staff excellent other than one person at the front desk. the only saving grace being that far away, as there was no one else around to make noise, however […] the room was so hot that one couldn't sleep anyway. rooms as well are old and need updating. "Short stay - overnight only."
The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby looks like it's been upgraded, but the rooms (based on our experience) needs upgrading. Our room was non smoking but it had a slight odor to it - people must have smoked in it before. They included a great breakfast with the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Had a few good sleeps here, room was clean and service was good. Only thing that was bothersome was the dripping taps in the very small bathroom. But all in all for a renovated building it wasn't bad. Wish I could have stayed longer to pull some fish out of that huge lake!
"Offers a Free HOT breakfast"
07/22/14 Dale T Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada
This is one of the older Hotels in Slave Lake but it is well maintained. Has a very reasonable rate at $99. The best thing I like about this location is they offer a free hot breakfast and yes even bacon and sausage. They also offer smoking for the smokers out there. The only things that I found was that as I said it is an older building and the wifi was weak.
"Dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at"
07/17/14 dhowe12 Alberta
I am not sure how they can charge what they do for their rooms as it was very dirty and very rundown. I have never seen so many mystery stains on the walls and floors, holes in the walls and holes in hallway doors. Our bathroom door didnt close properly ,you literally had to wrestle and slam it shut!! there were lights burned out . The roll away bed was an absolute joke it was useless & my son had to use the mattress to sleep on the floor. We had to wait two hours for extra towels to be delivered to our room . I have never been told I had to wait 2 hours for towels. Yes, this was an issue with a family of five when there's only two towels., they already know how many people are staying in the room because they ask when booking the room. Typically one would expect that many towels to be in a room, its not rocket science, just good customer service which they are lacking terribly. No idea how this hotel got the rating it did . Would not stay here again.
"Lakeview Inn and Suites is excellent "

Excellent staff, very clean and elegant but cozy furnishings. Wonderful little touches such as free cookies and popcorn. Good breakfast spread with lots to choose from and four different kinds of coffee. This is a welcoming hotel that I would gladly return to. Great internet and decent TV channels available. They also included a Keurig coffee maker in my room, and the gym and laundry rooms were very handy and well-kept.

"Service has gone down hill since I last stayed"
05/08/14 vanityfair2014 Calgary, Canada
I used to stay here when it was the Sawridge Inn quite often for work but this was my first time since they changed to the Slave Lake Inn. To be honest I only stayed one night and left very early in the morning and the service seemed fine. However when I checked out they told me they could not print out my receipt as there was an issue with their printer. The lady at the desk assured me she would email it to me and I left her my card. When I didn't receive the receipt I called again, then again and this happened about five times. I called again tonight and explained the situation to the lady at the front desk, yet again, and instead of apologizing to me she sighed loudly and assured me she would email it to me but sounded quite annoyed at me. I called to leave a message for their manager so we'll see what she has to stay. I am not one to write negative reviews but I'm very exasperated with them and cannot understand why I need to call five times for something that should have been done the day I checked out, almost one month ago now. I would hesitate to stay again, not just because they have failed to email my receipt but because they haven't apologized for the inconvenience.

I stay here almost every weekend, for work and for pleasure. I've stayed at the other hotels in town, but for me, nothing comes close. This place is newly renovated and very cozy. The rooms are always cleaned to perfection and always make you feel at home. Very affordable. Even the jacuzzi suite is affordable and so very relaxing. You get free hot breakfast every morning and there are so many options at the buffet. There is a bar, The Ridge, that often has local talent or entertainment. Everything you need is on hand and the staff is very friendly. A must stay.
"Enjoyed our stay!"
12/02/13 Herman F Peace River, Canada
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and the temperature was not too hot or too cold. It was quiet at night. Very little noise was noticed from the hallway. It would be nice to have a bedside stand and lamp on both sides of the bed. The staff was very friendly and considerate. The food at the restaurant was very good. It would be nice if the breakfast buffet could be open to coupon users until !0:00 a.m. for late risers! I realize, though, that this makes it difficult for the cooking staff to get the food cleaned up before the noon meal. I would definitely stay here again!
"Better choices in the area for the same price."
09/11/13 ride23 Calgary, AB
I was checked into my renovated room by a friendly front desk clerk and was surprised at the updated decor and cleanliness of the room. Unfortunately I was the first room outside the lobby - which is used to access the restaurant and two bars in the hotel, and is right beside the mechanical/electric room which was emitting all sorts of banging and clanging noises. The door to the hallway might as well be open for all the good it does blocking out the noise of people walking through the lobby. I asked to be switched to a different room, which the front desk clerk politely, but hesitantly did. I was moved to the end of the hall into a non-renovated room. I opened the door to the overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke in the carpet, a bathroom door that didn't close, and a near-broken boxspring that made loud cracking noises every time I moved. I am not a large person - and I mean every time. Further inspection reveals a very run-down and poorly maintained hotel that gets away with sub-mediocrity because you can still smoke there (apparently??) and they have a decent buffet breakfast. I chose to stay in the second room purely because it was late and I had already moved once, my choice - and a bad one due to almost complete lack of sleep. I politely expressed to the front desk staff that the boxspring was broken and they looked at me blankly as they took my credit card. I hate to negatively review a locally run establishment that is, I'm sure, feeling the crunch of the big chains moving into town, but I'm heading back to Slave Lake tomorrow and will not be booking a room at this Inn.
"Nice and helpful hotel"

Staff was very helpful and the food was great Would stay there again. the rooms were clean and there did not seem to have any noise from the hall ways. Temperature in the rooms was just right. staff was very helpful when I was unable to get my door open (my fault)
