"Downtown was an experience"
It was close to freeways and easy to get around. Being downtown felt a bit sketchy at times. With so many nice hotels around, Wondered if we made a good choice. But all in all it did the trick and provided as advertised.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Adequate but not top-shelf"
This is a perfectly adequate small hotel with a very good and kind staff. Their elevator is not big enough for a standard motor-controlled wheelchair, but the rooms are neat and clean and the location, just a few blocks from the trolley and the restaurants of Little Italy, was wonderful. This is not a fancy place - coffee and toast in the tiny lobby […] and barely room to maneuver around the 2 queen beds in the room, but if you just need a place to park your luggage and crash at night, this hotel will suit you nicely. "It was decent"
Personally,I would say that the price was a bit too high, but considering where the hotel was located, it is understandable. Everything else was fine. The housekeepping, the managers, even other guests. The only downside was that there was some kind of green goop in the bathtub. it wouldn't wash away with water so I assumed it was some kind of construction […] material similiar to glue. Basically yelled at me and told me that the best they could offer me was $75 off $600! This place is a joke!Genuine Expedia guest review
Old and the air conditioning did not work well and the toilet made noises all night. Man at the front desk was rude and the over all experience was not worth the $360.00. I would never stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A No Go"
Terrible, could not find parking, no "free"breakfast, elevator could only fit 2 people if that, small room and no coffee pot...location was great but that is the only positive thing I can sayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor hello have a nice day we have do have parking problem but this is free parking other hotel you pay for parking you miss breakfast nothing we can do I am sorry lila have a nice day
The hotel was situated close to restaurants and public transportation. The room was basic and we were fortunate to get one of only several that had a balcony. No coffee maker was in the room. Although it did have a microwave.Hotel is dated and in need of an overhaul. The front registration desk is does nothing to invite you in to the hotel. The bed […] linen was clean, and a medicine cabinet above the washroom sink was tacky. The hotel is located on the flight path to San Diego airport and we could almost see the color of the pilots eyes as they past overhead in what seemed within arms distance. The intersection of the hotel location was also noisy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It doesnt worth what you paid for"
The hotel is very small in the website say it is a boutique hotel and it is not. There is no enough space in the parking lot, you have to park yor car in the street, the rate is very expensive for what you expect to receive, the room is small, the air cooler is not good, it is not very clean, the water in the shower is poor, and the scurity in the entrance […] doesnt exist, anybody can get into your room door. "Only about a mile away from Gaslamp, but...."
This place isn't too far from Gaslamp and right in the "little Italy" neighborhood, so it's not a bad location. I just feel you can't be too picky when you stay here. The room I was in was small and the AC unit is a little loud, so you'll have to sacrifice quiet for when it gets hot in the room. There is a fridge and microwave which is a plus. No problems […] checking in or out, parking could be a problem since it is only on a first come basis. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Bad Experience... Horrible hotel"
First at all, the staff wasn't very polite.. I stayed three nights.. Really bad experiece all over my stay at this hotel. The first floor smell a urine, terrible smell. The hotel room was very small, old furniture, beds not really clean.. window very old some mold around the wood, AC didn't work. Hard to close the window. Next morning I wanted to cancel […] the two nights left but the staff at the front desk told me they were going to charge anyway. They didnt care about my complain. He said there is nothing to do, if I dont like it he can't do anything about it. that's what the guy told me. if I want to move to another hotel he was going to charge me anyway. Limited parking lot about 12 parking lots.. really hard to back up because is very small. I parked on the street for two nights because parking lot was full. this was another reason I wanted to cancel the two nights because I wanted to move to another hotel.. I would never stay at this hotel and I never recommend it. On the Web says free breakfast. They dont have breakfast, they only have bread with butter that's it. no milk, no juice, no fruit, no cereal. ONLY bread and butter. TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT I GOT. At motel 6 I had gottten better deal.. better comfort for less money. I think Expedia shouldn't advertise hotels like this. that's my opinion... REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE, SO DISAPOINTED. "Sketchy and smelly"
The first floor smelled of urine, the grand door to the second floor didn't lock, our room was directly next to the fire escape door which was standing wide open, and led to an alley way! Anyone could have come in, from the front or back.. And the elevator was cramped and decrepit. 3ftx3ft, made laboring noises as if taking its last breath, and took […] at least 5 min or more just to get to you. The bright side, they do actually have parking. I paid $84 here, and it was not worth that price. I paid $87 a block or two away at another hotel called Urban Boutique and it was the best hotel experience while in San Diego. Don't waste your time with Harberview. "Don't go overpriced"
Location was ok but no airport shuttle; too noisy from cars on the roadGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel room for the price, but..."
Hotel staff are polite; entire first floor smells like urine. Close to Little Italy & freeways. Bathroom soaps/shampoos were super cheap like from the dollar store and in cheap packaging. Bed was comfortable, bathroom appeared clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Anything but helpful"
This accommodation has no parking, the rooms are terrible, everything smells, and give no inclination to helping their guests. Stay far awayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a horrible experience, it was so dirty I had to stay in a diffrent room in a different hotel, and they would give my money back. The hallways smelled like urine and the room smelled like smoke.. And the rooms there are non-smoking room. Horrible horrible horrible experience!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice little hotel. Friendly staff. They were kind and gave us tips on how to get around the city and nice places to go. We even got a free upgrade to a suite for being honest as to how many people were in our group. Absolutely perfect location in little Italy within walking distance of the bay, amazing food, fun bars, and the trolley which can […] get you all over town. It is an older building so do not expect over the top luxury. It can be a bit noisy at times and there is only window units for AC. These are just minor inconveniences though when you consider most other hotels in this neighborhood average double the price. At the end of the day, the beds were soft, the rooms were kept very clean, and the location was ideal. I would go back in a heart beat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall the place was great. Rooms were a bit small but it didnt matter for the time spent in. Everything was walking distance we did not move our vehicle all weekend. Service was Great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No parking, broken A/C"
Problem #1) Their Expedia profile says free parking, but there is no parking. Their parking lot has only 18 spaces and they are full all the time. The entire weekend we did not find an empty space. There is no security or gate. so non-guests are parking there also. We spent 15 minutes circling the neighborhood to find street parking. The next morning […] we found that our car was broken into over night. Broken glass everywhere and stereo ripped out and missing. Problem #2) Broken air conditioner. We let the staff know that our AC was broken at 8am. We came back at 8pm and no one had bothered to even look at it. We complained again and were fortunate to get a new room with working AC. Problem #3) Hotel is on a busy street with honking car horns and loud drunk people going all night. Problem #) Hotel looks way worse in person then in the pictures. says they have breakfast, uh sure if frozen waffles and a bag of bread for toast is breakfast, the hotel smelled like the zoo, bed was so lumpy, pillow matched for the lack of comfort, we got there it says they have parking no, it was a lot for 6 cars and then everyone has to park on the street in down town, elevator was big enough for one person at […] a time. small room, smaller bathroom, dirty towels re folded after I put them on the ground to signal to them I needed clean ones they just rolled them back up and put them on the rack, dirty, gross, never going back Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to Little Italy"
We had a rental car and the hotel location was very convenient to the Harbor and all of our business activities. It was in walking distance to many restaurants in Little Italy. "Worth the price for the location"
The lady at the desk was very nice and incredibly helpful, though a little hard to understand at times. We checked in early and she let us put all of our stuff in and look at the room to ensure it was to our standards. Few complaints: A couple of the outlets didn't work. I would recommend avoiding the first floor at all costs as they prop the doors […] open during the day, and when we returned to the room at 10:00 PM it was still propped open. The rooms are either on the street or facing poorly blocked walkway that seems very accessible to intruders. For people with these safety concerns, I would go to the 2nd floor and up. The Inn is incredibly conveniently located in a beautiful part of downtown, really close to the water and an italian district perfect for eating out. Our worst experience ever. They said our reservation was invalid and wanted to charges us again. The hotel looked very run down and in a bad neighbor hood. The hotel is definitely not worth the money you pay, nothing looks like the pictures. the rooms are tiny, outlets don't have covers, windows done close all the way. the clock on the microwave doesn't work and there is no other clock in the room. i asked for extra blanket and pillows. i was told i'll check but the other guests probably took them already. […] stairs to the third floor, elevator the size of a broom closet from there. graffiti on the back stair steps. parking is horrible, two small areas and one side is right up next to the garbage dumpster that's overflowing. you have to back out of the hotels parking area onto a one way street. garbage on the side of building. on our floor there was a cone holding the door open and cleaning supplies, dust pan and broom in the corner, all this and it's on the corner where you hear traffic all night long. i took pictures because seeing is believing if anyone is interested. i will not use this website to book a hotel ever again. "Not sure if this is better than Motel 6"
I spent 1 night here. The woman, who I assume is the owner, was friendly. She was kind enough to let me leave my luggage with her after check out, while I decided to go to the beach before my evening flight. I appreciated that. The room was alright. I didn't expect anything spectacular so I was not extremely disappointed. Just know that this is not a […] fancy place to stay. It's ok if you want something more private than a hostel on a budget. Definitely not the place for a honeymoon, there's no charm here. The room could have been cleaner. Even though this was an old funky hotel, the room was updated and clean. The location was good, close to little Italy, 7-11 close by. The parking lot was a bit small, had to park on the street. For the low price, we were pleased with the quality of the place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent room in Little Italy"
Pretty standard, but clean motel room in a great location. I needed a place to crash after a show at a venue in Little Italy. Also super close to the airport. "Harborview Inn & Suites in Little Italy, San Diego"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel while here in San Diego to attend our Grandson's and Great Nephew's High School Graduation. Harborview is a real gem. It is clearly NOT a standard chain motel or hotel, so do not expect the amenities you would associate with such a hotel.
