"Strictly low budget"
Very limited parking. No ice machines. Building not secured at night. Seedy neighborhood. Good stuff: very close to the harbor and downtown areas.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon"
Harborview is a real gem. It is clearly NOT a standard chain motel or hotel, so do not expect the amenities you would associate with such a hotel. It offers a real personal level of service and excellent location. The room was spacious, with an excellent balcony right over the street. The hotel is conveniently located just off of Little Italy, within […] easy walking distance of the light rail if you choose to not drive, but with convenient on-street parking readily available as well. Rooms are smaller, but cozy. The front desk associates were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is older, but clean and updated. The location is good if you don't mind walking. (However, didn't find a grocery store nearby.)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very convenient parking lot with free parking, walking distance to many places in Little Italy, and nice staff. An older hotel, but overall it was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's an alright for one night stay only"
San Diego was amazing but the hotel wasn't all that felt more like a stay in somewhere to just crash for 1 nightGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the cost"
Very small room. Very old and dingy hotel. It was just a place to sleep and wasn't really worth the cost.Genuine Expedia guest review
we are very dissatisfied with hotel harbor view. No TV working no AC working. I would not recommended to stay in this hotel ever. Breakfast was third class and owner was very cheap to things. Service are third class no phone dictionary or any type of facility in the room.Bathroom was dirty and towel was very dirty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was so small, and very noise, the parking lots are also small, it's very hard to park~Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to all"
It was a good deal for the price. It in an older building. The hotel staff was very nice. The rooms felt like a bed & breakfast getaway. The tub was clean enough to take a bath in. And the room was an okay size and clean. I would stay here again if I need to be in the San Diego area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean but average hotel"
Hotel was definitely clean but is a bit rough. Daily room cleaning which is of a high standard. We were on the ground floor which one wall is on the footpath. As such you cant open the window as someone would be able to just step through and there are no screens so it can get a bit stuffy. The 'window rattler' air conditioner was exceptionally noisy […] but it blocks out the planes flying over as the hotel is under the San Diego flight path and just a mile from the airport. Whilst parking is available there are only 12 parks so if you don't get in early you have to find a park on the street which is not easy. Breakfast of waffles, toast and coffee is supplied and you go to the main office for this which is a bit weird but at least it was free. Wi-Fi is included which is a plus. Overall it was okay. It was a bit expensive as we stayed Memorial Day weekend. Generally ok just a cheap clean hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"An Okay hotel close to the harbor, for low budget"
I booked the hotel for its very low price but didn't like it. Overall the building was dirty from the inside and there was a pungent smell everywhere. Good that the room windows opened so I was able to ventilate it. The room was very small and tight but the bed was comfortable for a good sleep. Nothing was broken and the room had microwave and fridge […] combo. Liked the fact that it was right in the downtown with easy access/walking distance to all the good downtown stuff. Free parking was definitely a plus. I would not stay here again but people on a low budget, just wanting to crash in for the night will find it reasonable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We actually decided not to stay in that hotel. The reception and our room were unsanitary. We found a soap bar still wet, it had been used, they never replaced it. The room smelled really bad, the AC unit was few inches away from the head of the bed. We were forced to find another hotel room. The hotel has a door to the street that has no lock. Anybody […] can come in and break in a room. The hotel is less that a block away from highway 5, the noise is unbearable. The charge was very expensive for such a bad hotel. "Great Deal Super Nice Owners"
Run by a nice couple. My mother left behind her glasses and they offered to ship them to her. The location is great it is central to everywhere that we wanted to go (UC San Diego, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo). Walking distance to great food in little Italy. Super close to freeway entrance and a 24 hour 7-11. Rooms were super clean and nicely decorated. […] Staff was great. Yes it is close to the airport, but its also close to everything that we wanted. "NICE Budget Hotel Close to Everything"
Hey, if you're traveling a hotel is just a place to rest your head. This hotel is cheap, conveniently located in Little Italy and if you have a decent pair of legs you can walk to downtown or the water in 15 and 5 minutes respectively. The owners were really nice and offered to make us tea in the morning (just have to ask). They were also very accommodating. […] I would definitely stay here again as its clean, safe and comfortable. "Good Room, Left Wanting on Parking and Service"
The room was very nice and my friends and I enjoyed the beds. It was clean, smelled nice, no smoke as advertised and the bathroom was perfectly functional for a couple of active normal sized people. However, parking was advertised and for such a large hotel, spaces were extremely limited. There were probably less than 15 parking spaces and when I asked […] for advice on parking, the lady at the desk asked me to park in an illegal spot on the edge of the four way traffic light. My advice, if you just need a place to stay, within easy driving of the Gaslamp area and within easy walking to Little Italy, this is a fine hotel, but don't bring a car and don't require special assistance. It's very close to the Midway museum and the trolley. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just a place to sleep"
Website pictures misleading on room size. Not for families. Windows so thin we could hear all street traffic. Room did not get completely dark. Response by Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor The hotel has and had many families with children who has stayed. The windows are being replaced later on this year to block out of the sound. Downtown San Diego like any other Downtown is DOWNTOWN noisy.
"Do not recommend"
This hotel is not for traveling with children. There are plenty of hotels on the outskirts that are in better areas, cleaner rooms and more up to date.Genuine Expedia guest review

An older bldg. in Little Italy neighborhood. I wish I had more time to spend just walking around. Remodeled nicely. Not a lot of amenities but clean & comfortable. Staff was very nice. Reasonably priced.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room smelt funny. I asked for a different room and was told they would change my room the next day. It never happened. Parking is hard to find but I'm sure that's typical for the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"great little hotel"
We really lied our stay at this hotel. It was tiny but perfect for a one night stay for 2 young so cal residents just looking for a little getaway. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was GREAT! It frustrates me when other reviewers give low marks for a budget hotel. "I'll go back again"
It was a nice room small with a roomier bathroom. Location was nice, Little Italy is full of delicious places to eat. A short walk to the harbor brings you to the maritime museum and the harbor. Response by Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor Thank you so much. And sure come again we are welcoming you from bottom of over heart
Pluses: My room was spotless, new bathroom fixtures, newer TV. Being in Little Italy offers many dining opportunities. Close to public transportation. Price was excellent. Minuses: Hallway had a funky smell (but not the room). Security door to the street had a lock opened by the room card key, but it wouldn't latch if left to close on its own, so most […] of the time it wasn't latched. Finally, the hotel is on the flight path at the airport and planes pass almost overhead at very low altitude. Not as bad as it may sound because the noise is VERY brief. "where'd the time go?"
So as I arrive into a vacant lobby, an unfriendly woman with a scowled looked suedo-greeted us as we approached. To our dismay the pet friendly explanation on the website (not hotels.com, but the hotels actually website) showcased a free pet friendly environment. Neither free nor friendly was the ambiance. The women charged $25 and numerous times asked […] us to not hold our sweet female 20lb boston terrier so high as she is "scared of our" ferocious (unquoted) "animal" then after many attemps to barley get away with the danger lol we recieved our room key which was placed in a paper sleeve the paper sleeve not only reused but reused for the 3rd time. "Decent hotel, slightly annoying staff."
Check in was smooth and the guy manning the desk when we got in at 3 in the morning was super nice. The room wasn't anything special. No iron or ironing board, no closet, half the plugs didn't work, one of the lamps didn't work and there wasn't even a light on one side of the room. The elevator barely held two people, the stairs were convenient but […] kind of shoddy, the room was always stuffy, even if we left windows open, the air was either on or off, parking was awful. The last straw was the day we were supposed to check out. We called down to the office the night before saying we'd like to stay an extra day. We were told this was fine, they would just add it on. The next morning, ten minutes BEFORE checkout, the hotel staff called and asked us why we haven't checked out yet. We said we talked to someone about staying another day. No one made note of that. We need to go down before one and check back in. Then housekeeping starts knocking on the door, asking why we're still there. So we explain it to them. Noonish, we're just about to go down and check in again, when the front desk calls back asking why we haven't checked back in. So we drop what we're doing and check in, at which point they charged us double what their website said the cost would be and they could offer no explanation for this. I really wanted to like this hotel, it was quaint and convenient and decently priced, but the harassment over check in and check out was unforgivable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor Pleaser is all mine As you have a good experience in Harborview inn & suites, see you again.
If you want to stay at a reasonably priced hotel because you'll just be sleeping and showering there, this is the perfect spot. Usually I stay at the Dana while in San Diego, but due to spring break, it was a tad to costly for me that week. I don't know about other people but when I'm vacationing for a few days, I don't want to spend the vast majority […] of my time in my hotel room at all. This place saved me money! The staff lady who checked us in was also kind enough to let me use her personal bathroom as there isn't one in the tiny lobby. That was greatly appreciated as a woman coming off of a long road trip! The hotel was within walking distance to Little Italy and the Gaslamp, which we took advantage of everyday, not having to pay for parking saves us money again! Ocean Beach is my beach preference and it's a mere 5minute or less drive from the hotel. Super convenient! While, it's not the Dana, we really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again for sure! "great location & walking distance"
This is a simple hotel stay, but the location is very nice and close to many spots in downtown & marina locations. Our visit was cozy & comfortable with a partial view on the 4th floor. A friendly service staff is a nice touch. Seeing the city was the best part and close to almost everything without a car was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Good Hotel!"
Stayed one night, room was very clean! Staff was helpful and cordial, small issue with parking but a little creativity solved that issue. Will stay here again, awesome location and good price for a Downtown San Diego hotel. Did I mention that the room was very clean!?Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for a quickie or short money!"
The front counter guy was cool, let me check in earlier. The motel was "alright" I guess for the cash. The motel could use a face lift. The bed was okay, not the best. Overall if your money is short then stay here. If u can pony up my cash, do the gas lamp up the way.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best room in town for the price"
About 10minutes from down town. Off broadway there is a mall and a open air market. I would recommend this hotel and stay again. It's not the Ritz but it's a typical hotel room. SR75 is about 15min away, it has a great drive north along the shore into Coronado.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the beach"
Small room with a bathroom. Nothing fancy, my main concern was parking but I was able to find a spot in the lot. Only a few blocks from the beach and very close to all the delicious restaurants little italy has to offer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location thats about it"
It was a good location 5 blocks from the harbor but the parking lot is only a few spots and hard to park at. You either have to back in or back out onto the street to get out which is dangerous because its always busy. The beds are hard as rocks and not comfortable at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Harborview Inn & Suites San Diego Harbor The parking is free LIMITED Parking which is advertized everywhere. We will help find parking near or around the hotel and its FREE.
Walking distance from trolley station & close by great eateries. Warm serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location, and a clean room. However, perhaps it's the carpet cleaner that they use but the room had a (strong) scent that was a bit overwhelming. Did not interact with the staff very much but they were friendly. Breakfast is just toast and waffles in the lobby area. Overall, a decent and convenient place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
No view. Noisy surrounding. I regret staying here. Free breakfast is just store bought waffle and bread.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in Little Italy"
Within walking distance to everything fun! We arrived in San Diego for a wedding & discovered that the person in charge of booking our hotel had not done so. We were frantically trying to find somewhere to stay & finally got a room at Harborview. Very last minute, so our room itself was VERY small on the ground floor. But it was so close to all the […] attractions in San Diego that we only were at the hotel when sleeping or getting ready to go out on the town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Mom and Pop operation - very low end"
A dive. Had to wait outside for cab at 630 because the owners were still sleepingGenuine Expedia guest review
Good location about $10 taxi ride to gaslamp district. Employees were decent, room was small, no closet but did have microwave and refrigerator. Did not find the "breakfast". Parking was difficult. Very small bathroom. Many TV channels. Overall adequate for the location and price. Would stay again, but probably not recommend to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room is smaller than expected, may not have enough walking space for big size people. No closet, no clothes hangers in the room. Old towels, no body lotion. Bed with torn blanket (see pictures), and the housekeeper did not even bother to replace it during our 3-day stay. Regret to book this hotel, expensive for the price! Would never come back.Genuine Expedia guest review
Based on the website tour I was disappointed The rooms appeared to be much larger than the actually were. the parking was also limited. The area for the breakfast was in the small check in area.Genuine Expedia guest review
