Couldn't have been more pleased. Everything worked out perfect. The staff is what makes this place so great. They were all willing to go out of there way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Have been coming to this hotel for the last two years. Although it is just a bit out or town it is a great find in the town of Aspen. Just a short walk to all and found this hotel to be very cozy and friendly. Look forward to coming back each year....

This is a great place to stay if you don't want to mortgage the farm to stay it some of the upscale places in town.It's very close to town, it was very clean. The staff was friendly and not snooty which you can certainly experience throughout Aspen. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. A flat screen TV would be nice.

I've stayed here several times since it was built in the 90's. The heating system is in bad need of repairs. It clanks and bangs several times and hour. It needs work. Otherwise, the place is a good bargain, especially for Aspen.

We were unlucky on our first night here in that members of a band that were playing at the Belly Up were staying in the rooms above us. The ceilings are paper thin and we heard every footstep, every bed creak, every door opening and shutting until 3:30AM. Nothing like drunk musicians to ruin your first night in a new city! This wasn't the hotels fault, […] though, it was just some poor luck and fortunately the second night they were gone and we had beautiful peace and quiet. We got one of the large suites downstairs and it was great - full kitchen, living room, and large bedroom with tons of closet storage. It was all very no frills, but at the price we paid we couldn't complain. Its location is really its best asset, tucked away in a quiet and pretty corner of Aspen, just a couple minutes from the town center. We will definitely be back, but we'll be requesting a room on the upper floors next time! Read more

Clean, quiet, close to everything, acceptable breakfast, spacious rooms, friendly staff. My daughter loved the hot tub and free wi-fi. The parking is limited but free. For the price it beats the other options in Aspen!

In Aspen where a coffee cost $6 it was very nice to find this great hotel for the price. Breakfast was amazing and stood out from most typical continental breakfast as they served waffles and several types of fresh fruit everyday. The hotel was within walking distance to downtown and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice quiet place on the east side of town. Walk to all nice downtown restaurants and trails. It is a bit dated but still very nice and simple. Great folks at the front desk. Walls thin so be quiet.

I would definitely recommend the Mountain House Lodge in Aspen, Colorado. On the day my husband and I were supposed to arrive, we had flooding issues with our house. I called the lodge and spoke with Eric, who was very gracious and understanding of our situation. We explained we wanted to rebook, which we did for the following week, and were not charged […] a penalty fee. We enjoyed a wonderful 2-night stay. Hosts Eric and Linda made us feel right at home. As the hotel was not full, upon learning we were celebrating our 28th anniversary, they upgraded our room. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. A continental breakfast is included. The Maroon Bells is about 10 miles away from the Lodge. We hiked up to Crater Lake amid beautiful yellow and gold aspens. We also enjoyed fine dining at Piñon’s Steakhouse downtown (within walking distance). I had the rib eye and my husband had pork tenderloin, and both were excellent, though a little pricey. The room was half the price of other accomodations considered, perfectly adequate, clean and well stocked with towels, etc. Breakfast was up to snuff and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was a pleasant 5 min stroll from the center of town.

That begin said, the hotel was just a few blocks outside of downtown, super easy to walk everywhere and quiet in the evening. The room was clean, quaint and came with a sink and mini-fridge. The people at the front desk were very inviting and always willing to help. […] While I wish the hot-tub closed at 10 instead of 9, it was one of the cleanest and clearest I've ever seen. This was the smallest room in the hotel and in need of upgrade especially the bathroom. However I understand the other rooms are much better and I would return if I could get another room. The common areas are quite satisfactory and the breakfasts were good.

Rooms needs updating. No night stand by the bed. No A/C, just a noisy fan. Not enough lighting in the room. One bulb burned out. Breakfast is no better then the kind you get at F airfield Inns. Cold cereal, fruit and weak coffee. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location close to restaurants and shops.
