The hotel is a ~6 pound taxi fare from the Cheltenham rail station, and rather conveniently located to downtown shopping and entertainment activities. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful, the breakfast included was excellent and the facilities were period and quite nice. I would stay there again.

A very comfortable and peaceful stay while in Cheltenham for meetings. Unlike many hotels wifi was free and high speed which was a bonus and there was plenty of parking. I had a very quiet, spacious room and a good breakfast. Dinner was a bit disappointing but the hotel is not far from the town so I could have walked in to eat. This hotel is situated in a large Regency builiding that would have been grand a 100 years or more ago. The rooms are typically high ceilinged and thus challenge heating systems. The sash window to my room was faulty and would not close, which at below freezing outside meant the radiator inside had to be set to max - making for a noisy and uncomfortable […] experience. Thankfully I was in a single room, so others did not have to bear this with me. The shower was great and breakfast also very good. The location is excellent for town and racecourse, and there is sufficient parking on site. I would stay there again, as Cheltenham has few good reasonable priced town centre alternatives. Holiday Inn Express nearby offers sterile functional rooms with a plastic breakfast, and the Queens is too expensive for almost the same as offered here. Read more

Staff were very friendly. The location was great for access to Cheltenham. We dined in the Joules restaurant. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The teddie bear on the bed was a nice touch.

The hotel is at the back of a quiet square. The staff were very helpful and we particularly liked all the Victorian prints on the stairs - a characterful hotel - we'll definitely stay there again.

Our room was a strange shape but reasonable in size, the bed was very comfortable with lovely bedding and pillows. The hotel was very central and staff extremely friendly.The room was very clean and the bathroom was lovely. Felt that for a superior room that the single beds were rather narrow and did expect some tissues and shower cap. Ground floor had rather a lot of door slamming noise at mealtimes from the kitchen.

Attractive Georgian Style Building overlooking a garden square within fairly easy reach of the Town centre. The interior retains many of the original features and is comfortably furnished. Very English. There was 3 of us - husband, wife and 17 year old son. Rooms are grand - in the old English style. Resturant and breakfast is very good. Best we had in the UK. Thoroughly recommended. Handy to Cotswolds if you have a car. On site parking. Fast internet.

Pleasant hotel. But our very large room had only one radiator which was not adequate in a very cold spell, and the large sash windows let in drafts, so - a less than cosy room. OK for a stay in mild/warm temperatures. Had to ask for hairdryer and there was no phone. Beautiful bath and shower room. Bar and restaurant OK if unexciting.

This Regency style hotel provided a room which was large airy and comfortable with TWO sofas and flat sceen TV + tea/coffee etc and lovely modern bathroom. We went for a relaxing 2 days and being close to the town centre was ideal for both of us with some limited mobility. Also the onsite restaurant was just what the doctor ordered as we did not need […] to go out to eat in the evenings and the authentic pizza was amazing. Enough for a very hungry man or could have been shared between us. It was sacrilege to be unable to eat it all. This hotel is in a great location, very welcoming, nicely fitted out room, and fabulous breakfast, BUT, the big let down was the mattress on the bed, which was 2 single mattresses, not zipped together and of differing heights, a real danger of slipping between the 2 in the night! We would go back, but would ask for a different room ( not room 7!)

Just stayed for one night following a business trip. Such a warm, friendly welcome. Fantastic food in the on-site restaurant (proper wood oven pizzas), seriously comfy bed, good (and fast) breakfast in the morning and another really friendly, personal farewell. I'll definitely stay again.
