Nice hotel to stay on a family vacation.

SERVICE WAS GREAT, PLEANTY OF PARKING,EVERYTHING ELSE WAS CLOSE,OH YES THE HELP WAS VERY FRIENDLY. WE WILL BE GOING BACK THERE ON OUR NEXT VISIT.

If you are looking for something that is on the Boulevard, it isn't bad. But, a couple of things: 1) The hallways are exterior and seemed to suffer from disrepair. Specifically, there were HUGE stains everywere. 2) The phone in my room was completely inoperable. It literally had no functionality of any kind. 3) I could not get any of my devices on […] their Wi-fi. For a business traveler---me---that is a real problem. 4) The reservations department is across the street. It is just really inconvenient. 5) At 11:00 p.m., nothing was open. Very comfortable. good ocean view. quiet.

Our stay was nice the hotel is starting to show a lot of age. My only complaint is that with 6 six none were heated.

There were no restaurants open in the hotel. No place to get coffee. The room had a smell that stayed through the whole stay. They only had the older section open during Christmas-New Years week.

This hotel was right on the beach, beautiful to listen to the ocean all nite, close to alot of must see sights.

The Deluxe suite was a great deal for the price, however the pool & spa area were in need of maintenance & cleaning, understandable due to it being the off season & late Nov., overall pleased with our stay.

Same room set up as Breakers, but Breakers was a little nicer. Too far from walking distance to places on the Strip, but quieter beach area because it is on the South end. The beds weren't terrible, but the pull out bed was much more comfortable than the 2 main ones. Ate breakfast at the hotel diner, and the service was adequate. We had to get up to […] get refills and there was only one other table in there at the time. Also, I checked in at 10pm and had to wait over 30 minutes in line, due to whatever issues with the receptionists and the computers. The lady named Kimberly, who took care of our housekeeping needs was a jewel. Very nice, polite and helpful.

There are 3 towers and I was in the middle tower and it is in need of a room make over. Don't know about the other two.

the hot tubs were not working. should have made that info available. rooms was very tired.

The hotel was very disappointing for the amount of money it costs to stay there. There were only two hot tubs in operation out of eleven, over half of the lights by the pool were out, and the bartender didnt have a clue.

The hotel is in a decent location. Waterfront views are always a plus. The unfortunate part is that the hotel is old and kind of dirty. The elevators are dirty and sound like they will stop working at any moment. The hallways are not well maintained. The door that led into the hotel room had a broken lock and all the doors in the interior had broken […] knobs. The bathroom was dirty and very rusted. I would never take a bath in the jacuzzi tub in the room. It looked extremely dirty!! The only reason we stayed at the hotel was because of the pools. We will not be returning to the crown reef unless major renovations are made. It was not worth the price. Read more

The hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC was stinking and raggedy and stinking; not at all like the pictures on the internet.The door did not even lock! Room was pleasantly clean and smoke free (non-smoking room). Found a spider in the bathroom, but I find them in my own from time to time!?! Beds were a little uncomfortably hard but the pillows were surprisingly fluffy. They oceanview was excellent. The crown needs major updating and cleaning. Would not recommend.

Very posh and comfortable.

My husband and I, use to love the Crown Reef. After this visit, I will never stay here again until some improvement has been made. The room was the right type, but the carpet has been there since the eightlys, everything (ex; refride, stove, baseboard) rusting out, years of wearing out. Upon check-in my husband waited in a typical line for keys and hotel information. Once he made it to the counter, he was not pleasantly greeted and he was handed a stack of papers and told parking is across the street. He was given no direction as to which elevator to use or how to easily get to the room. There were carts conveniently located in the […] parking garage though! We actually got on the wrong elevator, walked down a lengthy hall, only to find out we couldn't get to our room. So, we went back down the elevator, down the lengthy hall, and found the correct elevator. - All of this with 3 excited children in tow. Upon arrival to our room, we realized several things: the bathroom light did not work, there were not nearly enough towels for the 7 people (4A & 3C) staying in our room, the television remote did not work. at least 1 kitchen outlet was not functioning, and the glassware provided was not clean. The upside was the ocean front view that the room had. We asked 3 different times for more towels and 1 time we were told they are being washed in the laundry. We never received more towels and the bathroom light was fixed by the maintenance man that stopped by with a new remote. Overall, I would not stay at this location again and for the price would recommend other families to stay somewhere else. Read more

This hotel got our attention several years ago as we were looking for a reasonbly price hotel/golf package. We fell in love with it then and continued to use it for family vacations as well as golfing packages get aways. We vacationed in this hotel 2-3 times a year, but we are considering changing to another resort because of the falling standards. […] The rooms are not as clean as they use to be nor do they smell good. The rooms and elevators smell like mildew. The grounds are not kept clean. It is very hard to get someone at the service desk; however, they do address my concerns once I reach them. I have already booked my rooms for next year with a comparable hotel that seem to be clean and accommodating. Like the pools and restaurants and pool side service. It's a 2-star hotel. So, don't expect 5-star accommodations. I witnessed one guest check out immediately upon seeing the assigned room. On the bright side, my room was "ok". It was relatively clean, most everything worked, and I have no major complaints about it. The pool layout and beach access are the best features - multiple pools for adults and […] children, hot tubs, and a short leap directly to the beach. If you are in Myrtle Beach - especially with children - to enjoy being in the water, then Crown Reef may work. One suggestion is to improve effectiveness of security staff (training perhaps), and maintain a security presence into the the evening hours since the pool area does not close until 10pm. Read more

I have heard that the Crown Reef was a glorious and gorgeous hotel, but it is really showing some wear. The room that we stayed in showed a great deal of water damage and lack of a good scrub once and a while. We stayed in the front room that was in the best condition. I wasn't comfortable sleeping in the bedding they had and I felt like I needed to […] scrub everything with bleach. We were so disappointed, but we had high hopes for this grand hotel. This may not be the newest hotel but it is well worth the money. Have stayed there for the last 5-6 years and will stay there again.

The pools, lazy river, beach and ocean view are what made the trip very nice. The rooms were in acceptable condition but totally not in line with the premium price paid for the room. Coffee maker was broken, hair dryer is a joke, room smelled damp almost moldy, could be because the cleaning crew turn the a/c to only use vent when the room is not in […] use. skimpy towels, old mattresses, no inviting breakfast buffet, very slow elevators making them packed when they do come by. The Hotel turned out to be what you would expect of a Myrtle Beach Hotel after Memorial, Bike AND Senior weeks! Still the maintenance and cleaning staff were happy to help. Thanks! besides needing a little remodeling i have no complaints about this resort, we had everything we needed. the rooms and everything were pretty old school and the 'breakfast buffet' was sort of a joke but i would for sure stay again. the pools were perfect, the drinks were good, and being on the ocean was priceless!! one of my favorite vacations!

carpet needs to be changed.... otherwise a very nice resolrt with convenient location.

The Crown Reef is in a great location -- so convenient to everything. The staff was friendly and hospitable. I was very disappointed about the cleanliness of my room, I literally had to go out, and buy items to clean my suite.

We really enjoyed the resort greatly. The pool facilities were awesome. Will stay here again.

The Crown Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, was everything I had expected and more! The only things I would change would be add an indoor pool and upgrade the beds. The beds were kind of hard, but not necessarily uncomfortable. Everything else was great!

This hotel was run down and in disrepair. Wall paper falling off the walls, trash in the hallways, and the slowest elevators around. Fortunately it was on the beach. I would not recommend this low (very low) end hotel.

I have to say that my expectations were WAY to high for this really, really bad hotel. When we arrived to the room the opening of the door, I found my shoes stuck to the floor! There was rust on all of the appicences. The closet door fell off and hit me in the head! I alerted staff and got no response...management was just as useless. We absolutely enjoyed our stay - however brief at the Crown Reef Hotel. our room had an awesome view of the ocean, access way easy and convienent. we look forward to staying at the Crown Reef in the future !
