Hotel Rostrevor has a great location right on the beach and within walking distance to several restaurants, a convenience store and more. The staff was friendly and helpful and having a refrigerator in our room was great. The only downside was that it is very noisy at night. The music and people singing karaoke would blare into our room from the street […] side until around 3 a.m., but luckily, we were on the 3rd floor and would just sleep with the balcony door open so that the sound of the ocean could drown out the music. Impressed with the hotel. I had booked last minute and knew it was right in The Gap. The noise didn't bother me and the view in the morning was amazing. Right on the beach. The only downside was that the clock-radio didn't keep the right time and so I was late for a meeting. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again.

This was my third stay at the Rostrevor while visiting Barbados on business. The hotel is a simple, clean and friendly place, in a good location, at a reasonable price. It is in the middle of the "St Lawrence Gap" strip, with numerous bars and restaurants within easy strolling distance. Accordingly, this is not the place for an out-of-the-way, quiet […] excursion. Nonetheless, I didn't find the street/bar noise to impair my sleep. The hotel fronts on a nice, attractive -- if compact -- beach. There is a simple bar-restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch (the Bajan Flying Fish breakfast is delicious). I had originally booked an oceanview with a king sized bed, but found out another couple wanted to tag along (our friend was getting married in Barbados). So I emailed the hotel and asked for two beds instead. When the four of us arrived, we found ourselves in a room with two twin beds! The front desk told us that we would have to upgrade in order to […] get two double beds, since our reservation was initially for 2 people. There was miscommunication between both ends, but they did a good job accommodating us so we didn't mind paying extra. Plus, we were put in the new wing that just opened a few months prior. The beds were a little firmer than we would have liked, but we loved having a kitchenette (stove-top, toaster, microwave, mini fridge, sink, utensils, plates, etc). The ocean view couldn't be beat! We were also staying in an end unit, close to the action in the Gap, so the music could be heard until 3am in the morning. We didn't mind as much, but some people may want to get a non-end unit ocean view to avoid the loud music (and terrible karaoke). The small private beach was good enough for us. You can actually get out pretty far when the tide is lower due to the sand bars. The pool as nice too! I would probably avoid the restaurant. We ate lunch there once and it took almost an hour for the food to come out. We didn't try the special buffet nights though. The room was nice, clean and comfortable, facing the ocean. However, we were on the renovated side of the building. The hotel had its own little private beach and small pool. When asking for another towel they don't want to give it to you; you are only to have the alloted towels they give you. After they clean the room your towels are removed and not returned until they are washed so if you are in your room, there are no towels available. If you're staying in Barbados during the week, do NOT stay here. The construction crew was drilling and hammering from 8:00am until 6:00pm. I'm talking serious hammering and very serious drilling. I was told by someone at the hotel before I booked if the construction I read about was very loud and was told that the majority of the work was finished […] and it wasn't too bad. HA! I enjoyed my stay in Barbados. The hotel was nice and the staff was very accomodating. The location was great, we were walking distance of restuarants and clubs. As single women, we felt safe walking around late at night. The people were friendly and the food was good. We did the Cool Running boat cruise, which was an adventure! We stayed in a superior room in the Rostrevor Hotel. The room had all we needed - fridge, flat screen tv, 2 ring cooker, kettle, toaster, coffee percolator, hairdryer and safe - for an enjoyable stay. We were close to bars and night clubs which was OK for us as we did not have children or a pressing need to go to sleep early but I would not recommend the area for anyone who does not want night time noise. There are plenty of places to eat close by and we found the food to be of a high standard and not too pricy in most places. The hotel was a great base for a two week stay. We hired a car for a week but were content to stay in the hotel grounds for the last few days of our stay. Read more

The Rostrevor Hotel's main virtue is its location. It is in the heart of The St Lawrence Gap, home of many and varied restaurants, bars etc., and faces directly on to the ocean with a lovely pool patio and its own very small beach. It is also less than 5 minutes walk from a long and lovely public beach. Every room has a large balcony overlooking the […] ocean. The rooms are spacious, simply furnished but with a comfortable bed and a clean functional bathroom. They also have a well equipped kitchen. They are quiet as long as you close the bathroom door as the bathroom has an unglazed louvered opening on the street side and there is a pub right opposite. There is only very limited food and beverage service in the hotel but there are plenty of alternatives within a few minutes walk.
