Nice location close to restaurants within walking distance. We skied at sunshine and lake Louise the chalets are located within an hour from these resorts. The hot tub was awesome after a hard day on the slopes. Only negative is the railroad is very close and the trains fly by every several hours.
"canadian rockies chalets"
second stay for us at the chalets, enjoyed it once again ,the location perfect for all local ameneties and the train doesnt hoot at night like it does in other resort towns so yes a thumbs up!

"Rockies Chalet in beautiful Canmore"
The hotel is largely made up of suites, with a living room, kitchen area and two bedrooms in our case. One bathroom. However....only one bed in each of the bedrooms. We had four people some of whom did not wish to share a bed, so one had to sleep on the sofa....not great. There is beautiful scenery near by and the location was good. As long as people […] are aware of just what is in the suite it may be good. Read more
"'Bear Den' BEWARE at the Canadian Rockies Chalets"
I am not really sure where to start with this hotel. First off, half of the hotel is right beside a very noisy and busy train track. On their website it warns you of this for the "Railroad Retreat" but they fail to warn you that this is also the case for half of the "Bear Den" rooms as well. As a result we were treated to a very loud train that vibrated […] the entire room every hour.. including throughout the night. Unfortunately that was not even the worst noise related complaint I have of this hotel. The noise insulation is so poor that we literally had to put up with unacceptable noise from the people above us the entire night, and worse, very early in the morning. I won't blame the people above as, or their children, quite as much as I blame the hotel. What I imagine as them dragging chairs and luggage across the floor sounded like someone playing marbles with bowling balls. Add to this the fact that the guy at the front said he had to do a $25 pre-authorized damage deposit for the room. I said fine, but when I checked out I saw the receipt clearly said $50 was charged to my credit card. When I asked the girl to explain why they pre-authorized $50 on my card when they clearly said they would charge $25 she gave me some lame excuse that we stayed 2 nights so it is $50 not $25. Personally I think that is A. complete BS and B. really really shady. I have never been to a hotel that charged me some kind of pre-authorized damage deposit, and the fact that they straight up lied about the amount is enough to make me never return (well the noise also ensured I would never be back so I guess it doesn't really matter.) But I still don't understand how 2 nights stay = double the damage deposit. Really really poor management and customer service. Lastly, the room was dirty, dark, and there was no tv in either bedroom. There was a (Dynex!) 32" flat screen in the "living room" but the small couch in front of it was small and uncomfortable.. and right beside the loudest furnac Read more
"Cheers to Canadian Rockies Chalet"
stay was nice and this place is worth going back to! however, early check-in's should be made possible. Early check-in for us would have helped rest our unwell son on that day

"Canadian Rockies Chalet in Cnamore"
The noise from the trains running behind the hotel woke me up during the night.
"Canadian Rocky Chalets"
Rooms were in very poor shape, plugged bathtub and toilet, walls were dirty. No outdoor furniture to sit. Very noisy location due to train tracks at back of building.
"Canadian Rockies Chalets"
Really spacious suite, we had 2 adults and 4 kids, so the space and extra bathroom made a huge difference. Unfortunately the train tracks were just a stone's throw away, making it very difficult to sleep. The beds were also very uncomfortable - got up to a sore back every morning. In all I suppose it was worth it considering the price of the room. If […] given a 2nd chance, I would pick a hotel farther from the tracks. Read more
"Canadian Rockies Chalets in the heart of Canmore"
If two problems were addressed before we checked in, this experience would be 5 stars. Check in was friendly, efficient and informative. The room (Bear Den) was large and comfortable. The 1st problem arose with room cleanliness as the bathroom floor had dirt and hair; probably not mopped. The 2nd problem was the dark hairs that were all over the pillows. […] Ewww. Otherwise room was spotless. (But those two problems have high ICK factor.) We dealt with the problems and found solutions but we should not have to deal with such yuck. First night we arrived the staff was already gone for the night, if they were open I am confident they would have helped us out and cleaned up the joint.. We would recommend that you park your car early in the eve. if you plan to park in the hotel parking lot. Space is very limited with a full occupancy. Also, keep in mind the train may run past your bedroom windows, however, many hotels have this issue on Bow Valley Trail. They didn't run by at crazy hours and it wasn't a problem for us. All in all we loved our stay and, except for the hair, we had a great stay. Read more

"Great Condo"
This is a great condo. 3 bedrooms 2 floors very comfy, great location. Will stay there again.
"Excellent Room for the Money"
Had clean rooms, got a free upgrade to a suite when we checked in. Had a fireplace, kitchenette, and felt like home. Would go back!
"Great Room Great value"
This was like bringing your house with you. Fully stocked kitchen with stove, microwave, refrig, utensils, plates, glasses. Very quiet.
"You get what you pay for"
Downside: Hotel room- not clean, hair, dust, tables sticky Kitchen- counters dirty & sticky, microwave which we did not use was dirty, sink dirty, cupboards dirty Bathroom- toothpaste up walls and mirror, toilet did not like to flush. Cleaned the room ourselves. Upside: quiet, toilet clean, had cleaning supplies to use. You get what you pay for.... […] .. Read more

"2 BEDROOM WITH KITCHEN"
I GO HERE ALL THE TIME WHEN SKIING. WHERE ELSE CAN YOU GET LOCATION ON A 2 BDRM WITH KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM FOR THE PRICE OF A MOTEL? CLOSE TO THE RAILROAD BUT NOT A PROB. LOVE IT!
"Nothing fancy"
I booked this hotel because it was a great price for our group and duration of stay. While the room was clean, you could tell it wasn't thoroughly cleaned in a while, just wiped down between guests. The decor was plain and dated, but the beds were comfy, and of course we spent most of our time in Banff. It was nice to have an outdoor backyard space, […] but the train ran RIGHT behind the fence, was loud, and came through often, which made for fitful sleep. Overall, for every positive there was a negative, but with the smoking' deal I scored, I was willing to forgive its flaws. Just don't expect anything special and you'll be fine. Read more
"very fussy"
the hotel was very good, however they would not let me check in until 4 pm even though the room was ready. the reason I took the hotel was it was a good deal. they wanted an extra $20 to check in early. If I wanted to spend the extra money I might have taken a different hotel to begin with. It was a rainny day so we didn't have a lot else to do.
"Great stay!!"
Clean room, affordable, great service.... Everything you need to make a holiday that much better!!! We recommend it!!
"FIne place to stay for a ski weekend"
This is a fine place to stay while skiing at Banff. Complete kitchen is handy. Beds were fine, but the sofabed (futon) was not comfortable. Try to avoid having someone sleep on that.
"Canadian Rockies Chalets"
The hotel was good value for the price. The floors were very cold, as the heat came from the ceiling. Very close to town with all the ammeneties.
"Awesome place like home!"
To book a hotel for pennies and receive a two bedroom timeshares condo. Couldn't be any better. :-)
"Canadian Rockies Chalets"
We stayed in one of the Bear Dens of the Canadian Rockies Chalets. The rooms were clean, nice kitchen, living room, etc. The only problem was the location: too close to the railroad and the very noisy furnace. You first have to get used to those noises during the first night stay. The next days were OK.
What a great place to stay, it can be a little noisey but thats ok because it is a really nice place.
Canadian Rockies Chalet Spacious, quiet, despite being close to RR mainline (I never heard it). Clean and comfortable. Close to town amenities. I'll be there again.
"Canadian Rockies Chatlets - An Amazing Deal!"
This hotel was wonderful for what we needed it for, as a large group of us were going snowboarding. I stayed with 3 other people in the Bears Den, and it was perfect for 2 couples. The toilet did have some minor issues *it was very unpredicatable in its flushing capabilities* but for the price it was not a concern. Also we could barely hear the train, […] and the tracks were right behind us! Will definitely stay here again. Read more
"CANADIAN ROCKIES CHALETS - CANMORE, AB"
Extremely clean and large rooms. Hard to find at night as sign is located a ways in and not that large. Lots of trains going by at night (close) but very clean and affordable for your money.
"Canadian Rockies Chalet, great family accomadation"
We stayed in the cougar chalet. Very comfortable 3 bed unit. Handy to Canmore shopping. Ski hire next door very friendly and convenient, Safeway was 5 min. walk, and center of town about 10 min. walk. Had great experience with Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tour. Noise from rail was not a problem, as cougar chalet is on front of property. Canmore very pretty place, […] good shops and restaurants. Great family value. Read more
"Enjoyed the stay"
We stayed at this location on two separate occasions as an overnight stay while travelling to BC. For the most part we were very happy with the rooms and had wished for something similar at our destination. The train does run right by the hotel but none of us found them to be bothersome. Couches and chairs in the living area are not the most comfortable. […] Sharing one shower amongst five people was challenging for a one night stay. The one room only had a dull steak knife for cutting and no dish cloth, but I imagine we might have obtained these items from the desk if we had tried. Over all we enjoyed the stay. Read more

"Perfect Stay"
we booked a 2 Bdr Suite at very short notice and can only say that for the very good price it couldn't have been better. Only 10 mins on foot to downtown Canmore. Ok, there is some noise from the trains, but one gets used to it right away. By the way the train noise is shared with other hotels along the railway, so whatever you pick there are going […] to be trains and they do make train sounds. We'll recommend this place to our friends and will definitely be back Read more
"Great place to stay for a great price"
A group of us friends went to Lake Louise (1 hour drive away) for a ski trip and stayed at this hotel. We got a great rate for a two bedroom suite. The room is great. We also arrived very late and they are very accommodating and did not encounter any problems. I really recommend this hotel for a great price and decent room.
"Great family or group accomodations"
We stayed in the railroad retreat for a weekend with 4 adults and 3 kids under 5 years old. This was perfect for us. The railroad noise was loud from living room but didn't bother us at night. For the price the noise was definitely tolerable. We will definitely be staying again, great value an location.
Great price for the room. Wasn't exceptionally clean, but that was our only complaint. Many reviewers whine about the train, yet it wasn't hardly noticable. Would definitely stay here again. Besides, its in Canmore, one great city to visit.
"great value"
Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and it was a great price. The train was a concern but did not disturb the adults or children! We loved that we could pretty much walk everywhere.
"CANADIAN ROCKY CHALETS CANMORE"
Great deal through hotels.com, very nice unit, exceeded expectations. Only downside was minimal parking. I had to find offsite parking first night (due mostly to ignorant people taking up 2 spots). Was told to park at a mall across the street and when i got there, a sign said no overnight parking, violators will be towed. A half loaf of bread from the […] previous occupant was left in the cupboard (bonus??) Read more

"A Nice Canmore Hotel"
The two bedroom suite was clean, the place was quiet and it was a great deal for the price. I thought having a gas BBQ for guest use was a very nice tough. It was short hop by car to buy groceries but you probably wouldn't want to walk to the center of town although you probably could. The wi-fi signal was very poor however and should be upgraded.
"Hotel in Canmore Alberta"
My husband, father-in-law and myself stayed for 2 nights. We were in a Bear's Den. Outside of dust on the top of the curtains the hotal was a great place to stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The customer service was awesome. I would stay there aagain.
"Candian Rockies Chalets"
The hotel was pretty good all around but they make you pay an additional damage deposit when you get there, even though they already have your credit card which I thought was a bit strange. As well there was a very active train line right outside of our window, but this is the case for many of the hotels in this area. We also had to sign in to use the […] hot tub and it closed by 9:30 which we found inconveinant. Read more
"Clean but next to rr tracks"
Do not stay in Railway Retreat if you are light sleeper, trains go all night and are very lowd. Poor parking.

"Very nice suite for a great price but loud trains"
The view of the mountains, the comfort and cleanliness of the room, the convenience of being close to the national parks, and the awesome price we got would have made this a 5/5 for us. It was only the rumbling trains in our backyard that disrupted our stay.
good place and well kept but too close to the rail way, so the noise of the train woke us up constanly at night
