2 short tram stations from the city centre and near big shopping centre. Some neigbouring cafes and shops working late into the night. Nice clean apartment hotel. Some rooms have sofas instead of beds. Managed to avoid the ordeal only thanks to some vacancies that particular day.

Citadines Antigone provides a nice apartment/suite set-up in a convenient area (tram in front of hotel, short walk to Comedie/Centre Ville, market building across the street and shops/restaurants nearby). I stayed here with my wife for two nights. I didn't like that they charge extra for parking (9 euros a day), but since we were there over the weekend, we parked on the street for free. The room was actually a studio, with a little kitchen. Toilet and bath were separated. What I didn't like the most was the bed, or actually no bed. There's a sofa that […] you fold out. I guess if you hang out in your room a lot it's nice to fold it in and create more space. However, it was not comfortable at all. Both my wife and I had back and neck pain in the morning. I'm usually fine with most sleeping surfaces, but that sofa was just bad. WiFi was fast and included in the price. I did not take breakfast, so I don't know if it was good. There are several bars, cafes and restaurants around. However, considering the bed, I would not go there again. But I guess not all of their rooms are like that, some do have normal beds. We had a well equipped kitchen to use for any meal. The location is convenient for walking to major venues and right on the tram line. I stayed at this hotel during a business conference. The public tram transportation stop was literally outside the door of the this hotel. I was able to take the tram to my conference at Le Corum which took all of 15 minutes each time. The tram came frequently and both early morning and later at night. The apartment hotel itself was well equipped and fairly sizeable for the price. It was quiet and clean. The only real down side was that the bed was really a pull out couch. The night clerk beyond exceeded our expectations with helpful advice and information. We were there during the France train strikes so we had a lot of questions on how to get to our next destination. The 1 computer they had in the lobby was a bit slow and I had to wait for a couple to use the internet for over 30 minutes with no help from the morning front desk girl. Big plus was the kitchenette as we like to not having to go out for food every morning/evening and a separate small living/dining room (book the 4 persons apartment). This hotel ticked all the boxes that I wanted for my stay. Unspectacular but inexpensive, clean and very central. You should bear in mind that the rooms are only cleaned once per week, but this is more than sufficient for this kind of apartment/hotel. I stayed for 6 nights and opted not to take breakfast in the hotel every morning, I was able to buy […] my own groceries and prepare food in the kitchenette in my room as and when I liked. You get free coffee, wifi and access to print out documents etc. The hotel was very convenient to both the tram network (right beside the Leon Blum stop) and only 10 minutes walk from the main square (La Comedie) in Montpellier. The front desk staff were very helpful and despite my mangled attempts at French were more than happy to cater to any requests I had. Montpellier itself is a beautfiul city, and although I was here on a business trip I saw enough to make me want to visit again. Read more

Desk staff helpful enough. Maid entered without knocking 3-4 hours before check out due, seemed spoke little French or English. Equipment made it like home from home which good but tatty furnishings/ decor. Antigone is odd modern part of town with less character than rest. Have to wade through shopping mall to find old part.

A good place to settle in for a couple of days in Montpellier. Good public transport as one of the tram lines stops outside the hotel. While you are in the middle of 'new' Montpellier, it's only a short walk up to the old city and all the pleasures of the old city. The hotel is very central, 3 mins walk from the "navette" (shuttle bus from the airport) close to shops, restaurants etc. It had everything you could want in terms of cups, plates, kettle, iron etc but all quite basic. The flat could have done with a little sprucing up as paint work was battered etc but we had a flat for 6 and it was brilliant value […] for money. The staff were pleasant and we overlooked basic but neat gardens. Rooms at the front overlooked the tramway - convenient for travel but a little disturbing at night. We were a large group and were meeting others and the hotel made an effort to satisfy our needs (grouping rooms together etc). Out room wasn't ready at check-in, so we had to wait for an hour in reception, though they provided free tea and coffee. The rooms are cleaned once a week.
