"Basic hotel near the airport"
We spent one night there before a morning flight. It was very basic. The cost is quite high for what there is. It is also near railroad tracks--noisy!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for us"
It' does not have all the glamor of the higher priced hotels but it was very clean and the office staff was great. If our travel take us back to San Diego we would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pacific Inn & Suites, San Diego"
When I went to my room after I arrived, the room was occupied! I immediately checked out. I would not recommend a stay at this "motel".Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Little Italy and the water"
About what one could expect from a 2 star. Walls were paper thin. Could hear the rooms next door. The room needed some electrical outlets. No decent place to plug in a laptop. There was an odor in the room that I asked management to take care of. They said they would but did not. Bathroom looked generally dirty. They need to redo their bathrooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to trolley, clean and reasonably priced"
The room was quiet and clean, the front desk staff friendly and helpful (good job Carlos!). It was 1/3 the price of a convention center hotel, and 5 minutes away on the trolley with a stop just around the corner. Walking distance to the tour boats and the Midway museum.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to all our destinations."
We're so satisfied of our stay. Very cozy, very inviting. We consider coming back soon!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not stay again."
Breakfast was poor, homeless people surrounded the hotel, the night clerk was sound asleep and had to continually knock on the locked office to check out early in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap clean hotel but you get what you pay for"
Stayed for one night. Close to airport. Right next to Metro stop to Gaslamp. Clean and accomondating. Small breakfast, dont expect much. Sliced bread eggs and cereal. One con was thin walls. Could get loud esp if you are a light sleeper.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Positives and negatives"
Comfortable bed, and loved the in room jacuzzi tub. Breakfast adequate, nothing our of the ordinary. Why not have amazing coffee even if it's the only over the top option. Our room #202 was on the front corner at Pacific Coast Hwy, road noise ALL night, it's just a busy road. Possibly a room away from the road would be quieter. Hotel brochure reads, […] "pleasant helpful staff". Totally not true. they were not friendly, they were comfortable telling me and others they were busy and would be with me in a minute. They were more important than their customers. We remained in Laguna Beach and stayed a second night in a different location! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Loud but friendly"
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a great location but loud at night. The breakfast was to be skipped and great advice from staff on super breakfast places very close by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Staff was very helpful and went out of their way."
Staff was very helpful and went out of their way.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a short stay prior to leaving for an early flight the next day. Was perfect location for our early car drop off where we could get a shuttle for a 10 min. ride to the airport early in the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Worked out nicely for our travel purposes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel close to attactions"
It was a ok hotel for a night stay but should improve its facilities considering hotel is in a good location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you paid for, in downtown San Diego."
Mediocre motel, only is worth staying at if you want to be in downtown San Diego and you are on a budget. Noisy - a mile away from airport runways, on a rather busy street and trolley line is right behind. Soundproofing is poor - one can hear neighbors well. You can eat free breakfast there only if you don't have enough money for Starbucks - I did. […] The bright red light on the phone in my room was blinking all 6 days I stayed there - asked them to fix it, was not done. I had to cover it with a magazine to sleep better. Positives - reasonably clean, sufficient parking space, free WiFi works OK, easy access to downtown, airport, major highways. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Affordable, clean room, comfortable bed, convenient location (close to bus/train connections) and great restaurants in Little Italy. The staff provided maps and restaurant recommendations. Easy to get to the Convention Center each day, or catch a train then bus to the beach, Sea World or the zoo. We did not miss having a rental car! I would definitly […] stay here again. "Close to airport with friendly staff."
Quick AND Easy check in. The staff was helpful and friendly with a good location.Genuine Expedia guest review
Just looking for a place where we wouldn't feel like our neighbors wouldn't have some kind of meth party. This place was clean, friendly, and situated right next to a great neighborhood (Little Italy). We'll be back!Genuine Expedia guest review
"I'll pay more for a hotel next time"
Location was near Gas Lamp District - that was convenient, although I wouldn't feel safe walking there. It was very worn and even though it seemed cleanish, it didn't feel clean. I found a bug in my luggage after I returned home.Genuine Expedia guest review
When arrived there after a month reservation ahead I was expecting a better treatment as guess. I was given room 1203 and when I went up to my room and open the door a nauseated odor came out, room was dark and ugly. I really believe someone vomited there and or a dog died there and let it be there for months. I went downstairs and Pete the receptionist […] asked me what was wrong with the room (playing dam) fortunately he gave another bedroom that didnlt have that such disgusting odor. I really think they shoudnt even show that disgusting room. It should be painted and remodeled. You guys are loosing clients for showing that ugly room! I also think that Pete offered me this room because my first name was Jose and I got the feeling that it was given to me that room because of my first name, sensing some discriminatory feeling. However Pete did change my room and I felt better in my 2 nights stay that I spend going to see my grandson that Graduated as a Marine at MCRD, San Diego. Also the "Free" breakfast is a laugh. Two small tables with coffe, orange juice and toast.... I will NOT get back there ever. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Motel, dirty floors"
The room looked very well kept but we realized after being in the room for a couple hours the bottoms of our feet were black. I took a damp wash cloth and drug it across the carpet. It picked up black dirt from the carpet. It's evident that the carpet had not been been deep clean in some time. I told the desk person as I checked out and she said she […] would pull that room off the schedule and call a carpet cleaner. She seemed very concerned and I think she will make the call. The place was in good condition and I was surpirzed the carpet was that dirty, It looked clean. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Budget Hotel - but Great Staff"
We were looking for a downtown hotel thinking we needed to avoid a daily commute by car. It is very close to town, a 5 minute walk from Little Italy (which is strangely located on INDIA street - hahaha). It will be difficult to get a quiet room because there is a railway very close. The property is dated and run-down, but VERY clean. The staff are FANTASTIC. […] It was much better than I expected for a budget motel. Thanks Pacific Inn !! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very unconfortable beds...can feel springs poking back Office staff rude middle age hispanic ladyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel. Was there 2 nights. Very close to water front, plenty if places to eatGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice staff, clean, a great value, close to gas lamp and the harbor. Breakfast was good as well, eggs, cereal, toast, OJ and fruit. I will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"the hotel is really close to the beach"
I don't really have bad things to say there just suggestions. The television is old school, not very many channel's to scroll through. And the carpet was dirty so at night when u have the Ac on the smell got worse. So I hope they take action on those two things. If they do then I would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst experience in a hotel"
Dirty, cold rooms with no lighting with no towels , very rude staff, nobody was there at the reception desk for 30 minutes . I had to wait for that time to check in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was a bit small and cramped. Also there is not a lot of parking and the cleaning staff kept leaving our room window open after we asked them not to at the desk. We were on the ground floor so anyone could have gone into our room.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband found the bed to be too hard, but it was okay with me. The room was clean. Check in and out was easy and quick.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice budget hotel, close to many attractions"
A low-budget hotel, but don't let that put you off. It's in a good location, close to many of San Diego's attractions, walking distance to Little Italy and not far from the Gaslamp District and Downtown. The room was very clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed (incl wifi) and staff were very friendly. Beds were the best we've slept in so […] far, and the continental breakfast that was included was all we needed to get going. Would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Location, old hotel"
Family vacation. Disappointed in the rooms. Broken tiles on bathroom floor. Old T.V. with very few working channels. HBO wasn't working. Not enough parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
SMALL bathroom...but close to airport and clean! I just was displeased that they took a copy of my Driver's license and Visa...they shouldn't keep that on file and refulsed to give back to me upon check out even though my Visa had cleared :( I contacted my Visa and requested a new number. That was too much to have a copy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent choice for a car-less San Diego vacation"
Wonderful location. You're two blocks from Little Italy, a cool area that is lively at night with interesting restaurants and serious Italian markets during the day, two blocks away from a Trolley stop, and three blocks away from the harbor waterfront (USS Midway, Coronado ferry, etc.). The area is pretty safe for central San Diego and we had no problems […] wandering around very late at night. Having the Trolley made it a snap to get to the Gaslamp, Convention Center, and Petco, and one day we even took it down to Tijuana. We also brought our bikes to cruise the waterfront and ferried over to Coronado and rode around there. The hotel is standard motel issue, but it's clean, the free parking was ample, and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The placed we stayed was good, though the breakfast wasnt so bigGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a good deal. 90 dollars in downtown San Diego. It is not easy to beat. Rooms were clean, a bit dated but come on, it is not a 5 star hotel. the wifi worked great, the phone did not work but that didnt bother me. check out is early (11 am), but it is just a sleeping place so that was ok too. "Hotel/Motel located close to the San Diego airport"
Our flight was delayed and we arrived late in San Diego, picked up our rental car and drove the short distance to the Pacific Inn. Even though we had called the desk clerk was not informed yet held our room. The room was small yet the bed was comfortable. Complementary breakfast is early so do not sleep in unless you planned to eat in nearby Little […] Italy. Go to Little Italy! For the price and the location it is a deal even if the room is a bit Spartan. If you are looking for luxury then you are in the wrong place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very clean, it was very well isolated from noise when you close windows and you turned on the AC, the bed was a little on the hard side for me but we are all diferent so it's hard to please everyone on this one. Response by Pacific Inn and Suites Thank you for taking time to share the great point of the Pacific Inn & Suites. We hope to see you again soon.
Even though I was past the cancellation period, because there was a miscommunication with my daughter as to what night she needed a room in San Diego and because I didn't finally get it until that same day, Pacific Inn and Suites still let us change the night of her stay. I thought that was refreshing. I get tired of customer service reps that are not […] human dealing with humans and our occasional capacity for human error. They changed their stay with no extra charge. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Pacific Inn and Suites As a hotel, we have certain policies in place, however, we understand that at times certain situations call for a change in the policy. Mistakes are made, and we would rather forgive those mistakes and accommodate you at another time, then dwell on something that is out of your control. I stay in hotels just as you do, and things like this happen so why not do the right thing and help you in any way we can.
"One night stay on a busy weekend"
The hotel served its purpose. Decent location but over-priced and the staff is not the friendliest that I've encountered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Pacific Inn and Suites Thank you for your comments. As the general manager, it is my number one priority to ensure that each and every guests stay is as good as can be. With that being said, I would like to speak to some of the issues you encountered when staying at our hotel We are sorry that you felt that the front desk was not being very friendly which is very strange compared to the opionions of most guests.
"Ok, but not as good as the ratings say."
While the service overall was nice and friendly, it looks like the rooms haven't been updated in a while. There were few accessible wall plugs, but most weren't in convenient locations. Also, the tv's were small and not flat screen. After a long travel it would be nice to have a little more modern of a room, with more easily accessible wall or other […] plugs to be able to charge electronic devices, and since this is 2013 upgrade your tv's to flat screens. Even the smaller ones don't cost much these days. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
