Great breakfast, beautiful lush grounds. Pool and bar t the beach. Away from the rest of Bali though and filed with tour guests and congress goers. But really clean and nice.

Went there for 5 nights on a honeymoon. The hotel grounds are nice (not spectacular) to walk around with lush vegetation, ponds, etc. Stayed in the "superior room" which is accurately depicted in the Expedia pics. Quite clean, bed comfort OK, air-conditioner worked fine for us -- room was not damp. 1st floor terrace big enough for 2 people to sit outside […] and read/eat. Bathroom reasonably sized, good water pressure, plenty of hot water. No clocks in the room. Breakfast had a large selection of good tasting pan-Asian foods as well as fruits, omelets cooked to order, desserts. Service very friendly across the board; needed a new hair dryer & it was delivered in less than 5 minutes. Currency exchange at the hotel was at comparable rates as in-town exchangers. Internet is ridiculously expensive: $6/hr or $20/day. Walked to town and used hi-speed internet for 50 cents/hr. Didn't use the spa, which was about 4 times the price of in-town massages. Pool was OK; no view of anything from the poolside chairs. Beach is almost non-existent (i.e. less than 5 feet of beach) when the tide is in; when the tide is out there remains about 200 feet of tidepool-filled beach not conducive to laying out on. We had an amazing 10-day holiday in a Junior Suite at Melia Bali. The gardens are lush and well kept with the pool and beach a short stroll away. The choice of restaurants is convenient and Sateria Beachside Restaurant serve the best food and Arak Strawberry Mojitos!

Was generally a nice stay. The setting is lovely with fantastic gardens and impressive lobby. The rooms are dated and need refurbishing, Melia was built in the mid eighties. There was some confusion on check out about bringing luggage to lobby and this made us a little later to the airport than we should of been.

I would recommend this hotel for families but not for couples. Many children and games in the pool including one pool attendant who did not use a whistle, instead used his voice to loudly "eeeep" every 20 seconds during a volley ball game. Room OK but lagoon access would have been better. Great for families around the pool with plenty of activity but pretty noisy. Beach a bit limited. We found the building to be old and need of repair and updating. The breakfast each morning was not replenished quick enough as items run out. The restarunts with the resort were quite expensive. This resort seemed to lack atmosphere.

Overall it is not a pleasant stay. Hotel staff is not friendly, and send us to a very far room, which is fine, because the hotel is quite big. When we arrived we were put into a room with no power, then they moved us into a room with twin beds instead of a king bed and their fix was to push the two beds together! Although full, the hotel facilities were not crowded, unless you went to breakfast late. Finding a lounge chair in the shade after 11am was impossible, you had to go early and secure your spot with a towel or book. Apart from these minor issues, our stay was faultless.
