Excellent - hotel booked solid but it never felt that way. Staff very friendly and helpful, and spa is worth it! Only issue is check in is late - 4:00.

The whole experience was. Lack luster. The room was basic for a superior king. The bed was not comfortable, the tv was cheap, one chair for two people, the lanai held one chair so we could not both sit outside. I have stayed in luxury hotels all over Europe and this was the most disappointing for the price.

We stayed for two nights for our mini-honeymoon after our wedding in Napa. We truly enjoyed our stay. We like the old mission style and ambiance. The staff were very friendly and our room was clean and spacious. We want to give a special thank you to Leticia at the Spa front desk. We came to inquired about the bath rituals and once she found out that we were in our honeymoon, she graciously offered us a complimentary use of the pools and complimentary 2 glasses of champagne. That made our stay even nicer. The mineral pools were so relaxing. It's worth it! We can't wait to go back and stay again.

My girlfriend and I spent two nights in a Fairmont King room for an anniversary weekend. Despite the very nice landscaping and historic building, the entire experience at the Fairmont was very average for such a self-hyped hotel: * The room itself is TINY. Pictures on Fairmont's site are with a wide-angle lens and are very touched up. * The "complimentary wine and cheese happy hour" is an hour sponsored by a mediocre winery that will pour you (truly) less than a sip, offer you a $20 cheese plate and 2-for-1 tastings at their winery to drum up business * It costs $29 per person just to use the hot tub... * Strange location in the middle of a residential area; over 2 miles on a busy road to reach the quaint Sonoma city center (where the actual Sonoma mission, among great shops, cafes and restaurants are) Would certainly recommend going with a local B&B, even if it costs a bit more (though many don't). Every time we passed the front desk, we heard other couples and groups complaining about one disappointment or another. Now we know!

We do have a variety of room and suite types to choose from and feature many different local wineries for the daily complimentary wine tasting. The $29 fee includes access to our Willow Stream Spa facility to enjoy all of our geo-thermal pools, signature bathing ritual including grape seed exfoliating scrub and Eucalyptus Steam Room as well as spa snacks and teas. Again, I am sorry for your disappointments and I hope we will have an opportunity to show you the luxurious rooms and warm, engaging service we are traditionally known for.

Very pretty hotel and grounds. Nice gym to work out in. Pools are warm due to hot springs and that felt great in the evenings. Basic room, housekeepers seemed very eager to clean! Daily hikes provided by the hotel but they only take 6 guests. Could only hike one day with the hotel out of 4 due to that limitation. Signing up at the gym for the hikes and told we couldn't follow along in our car, we just wanted to get to the trailheads and then leave the hotel group. Yet then we find out they supply trail maps at the concierge desk. Why did we have to hunt that down? The staff at the gym should just supply the trail maps when you are told the hike is full. The bar and restaurant are very overpriced so we only ate one meal at the hotel. There are so many other great small restaurants around. Staff were hot or cold in their friendliness. Most very friendly but the ones that were not unfortunately are remembered. Overall we were satisfied, but for the price paid I think they could have given a discount to their restaurants and spa.

What a gorgeous hotel. A little slice if heaven. Great rooms. Get a Jr suite, the fireplace is worth it all by itself. Awesome service and the spa is wonderful. We always used to stay in Napa but from now on it will always be Sonoma and always at the Fairmont Mission Inn.

Spent two nights here on a short wine-tasting trip. Almost everything was perfect - the hotel is beautiful, the pool was refreshing, and our Sante dinner was delicious. The only ding against the hotel was for the bathroom condition. There was some cracked or broken tile around the shower and sink - not worth mentioning unless you're a perfectionist - which I am.

Very peaceful in the hotel and gardens. Wine tasting was fun. Too far to walk into Sonoma so drove and midweeek parking was good. Not sure how this would be at the weekend. Did see some rental bikes so that could be an option.

Service was great. Staff was friendly, but not overbearing. They upgraded us to a larger room in one of the buildings by the tent! The room was nice and large, and they provided a free bottle of red wine. The room itself was okay. Very clean and the bathroom was large, but I was expecting the decor to be a little more upscale.

Amazing quite swimming pool, excellent wine tasting with cheese pairing every afternoon. Confortable suite with fireplace. Hotel is just 5 minutes from Sonoma downtown. Excellent food in the hotel restaurant as at most of the downtown restaurants.

The rooms were clean and the bead was comfortable but beond that I do not have one good thing to stay about the Sonoma Mission Inn. The adult only pool would have cost $60.00 extra dollors so we spent our weeken listioning to loud families playing football in the pool. The wait for the only restaurant was 45 minutes and there was no place to grab a muffin or bagel. We had to walk down the highway to get a bagel. We would have used the bikes but that too was an extra charge. Not at all relaxing or enjoyable.

Close to town but not in town. Tucked away in a beautiful area. Concierge was very helpful in organizing a last minute wine tasting tour with driver. I felt pampered in a comfortable and casual way; very unique! Would definitely stay here again

Pay the $29 for access to the spa pool (18 and above). Have lunch in your poolside lounger, enjoy the 85-90 degree mineral pools, jaccuzis, steam. Yes, an $18 burger is expensive but you are paying for surrounding atmosphere and great service.

We have been to this hotel many times but it had been awhile. We were taken aback by the condition of the main and pool restrooms; lack of complimentary coffee in the morning; broken ice machine; and being promised a particular room if we waited to check in and then not getting that room. The staff was a pleasure but the totality of the experience was less than pleasant. Not sure I would spend the money to go back again.

While away from central Sonoma - have to drive everywhere, it is a good central home base for visiting many of the nearby wineries. Map on website is not to scale and shows very close proximity to the central Sonoma square, yet it is 2.5 miles away.

We were amazed how ever single staff member genuinely loves their job - from the valet, to reception, to the spa, to the landscapers. I was confused as to how such a place could exist. It's unheard of in this day and age. We even stayed an extra night to take advantage of the spa. The audio pool is my new "happy place" I "go" to when I get stressed. I can't wait to go back. For a vacation just to relax, this place is perfection itself.

This is a good hotel with good facilities for both family and romantic weekends away. Its location is OK but you need to drive or Taxi into downtown Sonoma. However up to 7PM @ night the Hotel provides a free shuttle service Sonoma which is great. This is an expensive hotel - but in addition they charge $15 per day for self park which is a little OTT for me personally. They also provide a FOC wine tasting but have an optional and expensive cheese board served @ the same time. However the cheese selection is excellent. In general this is a great hotel with good facilities

We had our dog with us, first they put us in a tiny room next to a squeaky gas pipe. Our dog was whining nonstop from the noise so we had to ask to switch rooms. Then we were above a loud conference team building thing. Room was pretty but ill never stay here again.

Went to the Sonoma Mission Inn for a girl's weekend and it was perfect! So close to downtown Sonoma, and wineries. Beauty, relaxing spa that was just right, great services. Really nice grounds and lobby and room. Complimentary wine tasting every day in the lobby. Just perfect. Strongly recommend - for a girl's weekend, or a romantic getaway!

We went with some friends to tour wine country and this was a great place to stay. Highly recommend. I would, however, not recommend, the high priced hotel restaurant. It has Michelin stars but the food was just ok and it was very fussy and very expensive. If you are looking for a great meal experience, go into downtown Sonoma and try Harvest Moon Cafe.

Rooms are on the small side; it's an older property. We experienced more than one miscommunication with the staff (e.g. not knowing we were going to be charged for things that the staff was telling us about), which was disconcerting. Because of this, we will likely not go back given the other options in the area.

Truly outstanding dining experience. Friendly helpful concierge. Small cramped dated room. Had to move chair to have room to access side of bed. Bland decor. Shower was terrible due to low water pressure, fluctuating temperature and partially clogged drain. We were unable to get a spa reservation. Overall I would never stay here again but the restaurant was excellent.

This property is removed from the action and its lacking the charm of a real resort - it doesnt have enough to offer to keep you engaged if you're not crazy about the spa / golfing. If you're just going to wine country for outdoor fun and wine tasting.... stay elsewhere.

Many great things about this historic and comfortable resort. Staff very helpful and kind. As a person who uses cane with weak leg, I appreciate all that has been done to make the grounds, rooms and spa accessible for all.

The facility is beautiful! But as we were walking in we could smell a fire burning, and when we got into the lobby we realized it was a fire in the fireplace. We smelled smoke the whole time we were there, so if that doesn't bother you then you may like that. The rooms are really small but have an English flavor to them. I called ahead two times to make sure that there was no down linens in our room, but upon arrival at 11:00 that night we had to call and have the down comforter replaced. The bellhops were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant, Sante's, there at the hotel was outstanding!!!
