"a bit older of a Motel, but I was very impressed"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This was a bit older of a Motel, but I was very impressed how clean it was.I was very happy with the service people. Very friendly and helpful. I missed my plane and they were very good to me and I stayed there one more night. The price is in relationship with the kind of motel this and i was pleased. They deserve their / your business. Their breakfast is only muffins and orange juice.

Downtown Seattle stretches along Puget Sound from historic Pioneer Square in the south to trendy Belltown in the north. In between, office towers, shopping gallerias, and brick condos line the leafy avenues. The convention center is here, as is Pike Place Market, where salmon fly. Don’t miss the futuristic main library. Seattle’s twin stadiums and the International District lie south of downtown.

"No compromises!"
We chose this hotel because it's modern, cool and it used to be a place to come and have cocktails on a Saturday night at their lounge. Well, I decided to bring in my girlfriend for her bachelorette, we would go out and come back at night..she loved this place! we arrived in the afternoon, went straight to valet, everyone was definitely polite, the […] line to check in was a bit long and seemed to be moving very slow... Couple hours later some friends joined us and informed us that the downstairs parking would cost them around $50 and that they wanted to go look around for street parking... Since I was a guest and no one said anything, I assumed that the parking would be complimentary. I called the front desk anyway, and to my surprise they said that indeed they would charge me for parking... Why would you not inform your guests of this? Now, we have dinner reservations and we are short on time. If I knew this from the beginning, I would have looked for a street parking! We went downstairs to see if we could clarify this situation, what we got instead was: unfortunately there is nothing we can do, yeah you can repark your car but we'll charge you for the last couple hours ($20)... At this point I was really annoyed, not only they didn't tell me this at the check in, they would still charge me to move my car! They would not budge on anything, the employees were just standing there staring at us as if were from another planet, no I'm sorry, no how can we make this a better experience for you..I found this to be a really bad customer service! Hello, you failed to inform me that you would be charging me behind my back! In any case, from what was supposed to be a fun evening, turned into frustrating experience that unfortunately will be always be remembered... Never again! Read more

"W-Hotel"
Dark lobby. Comfortable beds. Concierge/Manager (forgot his name) was incredibly helpful and made my niece and I feel very welcome during out stay.
Great and clean room. Only real complaint was the TV. An HDTV that displays a standard definition picture is very sub-par for such a great hotel.

"under construction"
I was looking for a quite space after my 5 nights in the Artic hotel which I could hear the clamor in the street, neighbors coming and goings garbage trucks at 2 in the morning so before I checked in my only requirement was a quite room with absolutely no noise they took me on a tour on the floor of where my room would be the corridors were dark as […] is the entry of the hotel lobby good light for some people so they showed me the room which surprised me nice and airy so I booked my room. When I checked in I told the clerk of my stay at the Artic so she upgraded my room up into the clouds (lovely) but on the first night (friday night) instead the elevator doors opened and allowed entry to loud drunken men and woman coming in after the wee wee hours causing me to abruptly wake up for my la la dreams. This is not the fault of the hotel and I did not call the host to complain since I knew by the time they would respond it would eventually simmer down once the intoxicated group relaxed in the comfort of their room and pass out. I accepted the hotel which was under construction because of it's neighborhood which was central to everything shopping, food, sights and transportation (by the way there is a place not to far close to pikes market great indian food) but I was hoping to find some night life experience in Seattle but I didn't know that the city as small as it is has no night life at least not what I was used to in NYC so I tracked back to the hotel and found the bar which was also under construction a bit claustrophobic so went back to my room which to tell you the truth after that first night with all the ruckus of my neighbors was pretty quite and I was able to get rest which I needed and woke up to a pretty nice view. The staff were very polite and helpful and alway's maintained a smile. Overall I enjoyed my stay so much better than the Artic. Thanks for asking Read more
Upon checking in the room smelled like blood. It had a very strange blood iron smell. The rooms need upgrading as they look a little tired. The bed was extremely comfortable though. They are now in the process of remodeling the bar so the temporary bar was a joke in one of the conference rooms. The staff was very good as they immediately moved me from […] my room upon my complaint of the aroma. The TV was not very clear. The location was phenomenal. Close to all the main things to see and do. Read more

"Disappointing"
This is by far the least luxurious W hotel I've ever stayed in. The room was comfortable but not at all what I'd expect from a W. The bathroom in particular was disappointing, you'll find the same thing, other than the glass counter, in a best western. If you want a nice hotel in downtown Seattle, walk down the hill and go to Hotel 1000. Much nicer […] for the same price or less. Read more
"W Hotel in Seattle"
Great hotel, but was under renovatino when I visited. Renovation status was not indidcated on the Hotels.com booking. The renovations killed the vibe, there was no lobby or resturant. They had a meeting room converted for a small bar, which did have food service. Just not the ambiance of the W I so enjoy.
"Not as advertised"
I selected this hotel based on reviews/location and the bar. People raved about the lobby and bar. Upon arrival I was directed to a temporary lobby which was very small and advised that the restaurant/lobby and BAR were closed for renovation. I was very disappointed and felt that I should have been given a discount on my room charge. I would not have […] selected this hotel if I would have known this in advance. The bathroom in the room is nothing great, standard tub/shower combo. The daily parking charge is also a disappointment. Read more

"Not what I expected from the W"
They are under construction, which is understandable, but would have been nice to know before I booked my stay here. I wanted to check in for a while and waited to check out, too. My room smelled like dog pee, there was hair in the bath tub, a cracked tile and the bathroom light had a short in it. The hotel bar is a temporay bar that would be used for […] events and I tripped on the carpet that was taped to the floor when I walked in. The margaritas are small are were $14 each. This was a disappointment, especially when I could have stayed some place nicer and enjoyed it. Read more
"Black Mold In Shower"
OVerall the hotel is very nice. They did not have a lounge and bar area it is being remodeled. The room was nice, on the 14th floor there was still some outside noise in the morning hours. THE MAJOR TURN OFF WAS THE BLACK MOLD GROWING IN THE SHOW AREA. HOW COULD THE HOTEL CLEANING STAFF MISS THIS! MY TRAVEL PARTNER WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO "COMPLAIN" TO […] THE MANAGEMENT. SHE JUST WANTED TO GO A DIFFERENT HOTEL, WHICH WE DID THE NEXT NIGHT. Read more
"W Hotel, Seattle"
The hotel is currently (Jan. 2011) undergoing renovations that make dining there a bit more difficult than it would normally be. But my stay overall was still comfortable. Coffee and pastries every morning, snacks and refreshing beverages available in the lobby throughout the day. All hotel desk staff were equally knowledgeable about the surrounding […] neighborhoods and always willing to give advice. Cleaning staff and valets were also helpful and obliging. Great service, great location - within walking distance of most Seattle tourist destinations. Read more
"W Seattle Hotel"
Beyond the call of duty service. Very clean and comfortable rooms. We were right off the elevator and there wasnt a peep all night! Free room upgrade upon arrival. maintenance came immediately to show us how to use the heat. Only issue I had was learning to use the shower fixture! Great place, Good price.
"The Seattle W - Clean & Comfortable, Pet Friendly"
Very nice rooms with a view of Mt Ranier. Expected microwave and fridge but had none. Everyone in Seattle drinks coffee except this reviewer - no hot chocolate in the rooms. We had two rooms and were accommodated with adjoining rooms - very convenient. Valet service is expensive - almost $100 for two cars - ouch! All-in-all, a much nicer hotel than […] most. Staff very helpful. Good pastry and cider in the lobby. Would visit again (but will bring my own cocoa). Read more
"W Hotel in Seattle - great service"
Great hotel for a night or 2 away. Very friendly staff all along the way. Great beds - feather tops and pillows were comfy. They were renovating the hotel so there is not much of a bar or dining area, but there are plenty of other places around if you need to eat. Walking distance to all of downtown Seattle, and the Hotels guest shuttle service is […] another great benefit! Read more
For the money I expected more than single ply toilet paper and lack of coffee in the room. The tub/shower was tiny. The only good thing about the stay was the location.
"One nite stay"
It's hard to rate EVERYTHING about this hotel when you only stay one night but what I can say is I'm sure the other amenities are awesome. Albeit our room huge (ninth floor NE corner), the "coolness" (room ordered was "cool king corner" was lost when all the windows on one wall faced the parking garage *sigh* and the other window peered into the pool […] of the nearby Four Seasons. Again, it's hard to rate the hotel for a one night stay but the staff was always very friendly and helpful. The room had top notch finishes, towels were soft and the bed was very comfy. The W is definitely spendy, so if you are on a budget, forget it, this place is all about luxury! Read more
"Parking"
Parking fee sucked. Paid close to $200 for room, then 40 plus for valet, sucked.

"Security Issues."
We've given them all week to respond to the incident, but they are not returning our calls. The room was missing the do not disturb card, which was at first a minor issue, we used the interior locks. In the morning, I went to the lobby for coffee, shutting the door behind me, unable to use the interior locks from the outside, while my wife was preparing […] for a shower. In the time it took me to board the elevator, a man walked into my room using a keycard, shocked my wife, and immediately left without explanation or ever announcing entry or knocking. At first i thought maybe it was an honest mistake, but I don't believe it was. The security department took a statement and still had no idea who entered our room. He promised us that the head of security would be contacting us within days, which they haven't. This sounds to me now like a theft attempt using someone inside the hotel to gain access, the man did not have any "W" badge or ID. I believe he may have intended to quickly check the room and steal what he could steal, and so far i have not been given any explanation that would refute this. The W is a nice chain, the hotel is nice, but this event and the lack of followup is inexcusable. Read more
"W Hotel Seattle-Simply the Best!!!"
What can I say. I have stayed at various W Hotels on many occassions and have never been disappointed. It's clean, the staff is amazing and always helpful and it's always located in the best areas, with easy access to wherever you want to go. There really is not need stay anywhere else, as It's simply the best!
"W Hotel Overnight Parking, a License to Steal"
Be aware: Overnight parking for guests is $37/night + tax = $45/night. When comparison shopping for a hotel room, this little fact quickly prices the W into a higher category. I guess I should have checked beforehand, but I never thought the parking price would be so outrageous. Additionally, the W nickels and dimes you for internet. $15/day or $50 […] for three days. When are hotels going to realize that free internet attracts guests and ridiculous fees frustrate them and turn them away? The climate control in the room was finicky. We had to set it to 65 to make it pleasant even though it was in the 40s outside (and my fiancee is generally always cold!). Also the slightly noisy fan did not have an AUTO setting; it's either on or off. The guests in the adjacent suite were loud late at night and we could easily hear them laughing and talking while we were trying to sleep. They eventually settled down, but some better sound insulation would have eliminated the issue. The service, cleanliness, ambiance, location, etc. were all good or better. Overall, our experience was good despite a couple hiccups, but a very poor value. Read more

Great hotel and location. Only dissapointment was the parking charge, I believe the online information from Hotels.com noted free parking.

"Wonderful "W" in Seattle"
This my first trip Seattle & my first W hotel. I loved both--the W had a calm, cool vibe. The room was beautiful and the lobby W fireplace was a beautiful place to read in the early mornings. The location was a few blocks from hubbub Of First Street, but close enough to walk to there and market In less than 10 minutes. I am a new fan of the W's based […] upon my stay at Seattle's. "Seattle W Hotel Stay"
I was very disappointed in the W Seattle - I paid for an upgraded room and got a view of the parking garage! I had to request soap and shampoo since room service refresh after a few days. I will stay at the Hilton or Crown Plaza which are far better than this hotel -

"The W, Seattle - a great place to see Seattle from"
Our stay at the W in Seattle was wonderful. My wife had stayed here before, yet it was my first time. She loved, loved the bath products and the very soft robes. I'd recommend asking for a higher floor room - we were on the 16th floor and 'almost' had an unbelievable view of the Sound and the Olympic Mtns to the west. Having lived in Seattle we know […] what those looked like and were excited when the desk told us we were facing west. Alas, that was the only negative and could have easiliy been rectified if we'd asked - but we weren't there to spend our weekend in the hotel. :-) The loction in downtown makes it a nice easy stroll to the Pike St. Market, Pacific Place Mall, Pioneer Square and the Stadiums. And - it's a very affordable cab ride to the great restaurants and coffee shops on Queen Anne Hill or in Capital Hill. We will definitely be back to the W on our next trip to the Emerald City. "Absolutely Perfect"
No better place to stay in Seattle.
"Great Downtown Hotel"
we stayed over the Labor Day weekend and really enyoyed the amenities at this hotel and the service is excellent. Our only complaint was the daily charge for Wi-Fi and the Daily parking charges but otherwise we highly recommend this hotel.
"Great hotel and great staff"
The hotel was great and the staff was great as well. I'd highly recommend it. My only issue is that I believe ALL hotels should offer free wi-fi in the rooms. The W has free wi-fi but only in the lobby seating area. It is a realitively large area but free wi-fi should be in the rooms.

"W Hotel Seattle"
I chose W Hotel because of its reputation. Kudos to staff and the proximity of the hotel to important downtown locations. An added benefit was the DJ music on Saturday night. The lack of affordable parking was a challenge. The bath is ample, but the room itself was on the smaller size, although the room contained a built-in window loveseat.

"Hip and trendy"
Great fun. We would stay there avian. It is so close to everything. The only downside is the cost of roomservice!

"Good deal with summer sale pricing"
Got a great room at a reasonable price. Big room and the bed option that we requested was honored. The location was great with easy access to everything we wanted to do downtown. Only a few minor downsides. One, the room was clean and modern, but had some signs of wear. Two, the parking was $40 a night. Luckily our friends had free parking so they took […] the car. Three there was no in-room coffee (in Seattle, really?). But if you can catch it on sale like we did, I highly recommend it! Read more
"Great location, overrated hotel"
the location is ideal, you are at the center of everything in Seattle but the hotel itself is nothing special nor are the rooms. everything in the hotel is wayyy overpriced. again, i would stay if the rate was right but it wont be a destination hotel for me in the future.
