"old for a 4 star"
Lobby and the surrounding city of Seattle was great. However, the rooms were no better than a 2-3 star. The phone in the room was a heavy 80's early 90's wireless phone that didn't even work! No swimming pool or a free breakfast of any kind. I had to pay $54.90 to park in hotel. So, I'm not too impressed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"My recent visit"
I was very impressed with the service by : Dion and Brian. I told Dion it was my birthday and he made sure I had a yummy treat in my room! All of the luggage and door men were amazing and very helpful. Unfortunately , the front desk people were either dismissive or completely unhelpful. The same goes for the service at Trace. I was there with friends […] at 3:30 and 5:00 and again at 10:00pm. All if those times one of us had to go to the bartender to get drinks and or order food. Considering the amount of money I pAid for this one night splurge, I am very disappointed. In the future, I won't stay at this or any other W hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel-but no parking"
I like the W hotel, but this time there was no parking available. I had to park in a different garage and had to drag a bunch of luggage down the street. I was told their lot was full and I would have to find another place to park. Then I didn't get any help with my bags and had to wait 15 min just to check in. Otherwise the room was nice and the bar/restaurant […] were fabulous. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location to airport light rail in town"
Good location for walking to most tourist activities but in an more quite area. Older property in need of a refresh. Had some towels that were quite worn. Value was good in comparison to other hotels. A little crazy to have to pay $14.95 per day for wifi.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a great urban hotel"
Perfect for a weekend getaway with friends! I had close access to great restaurants and ppoular attractions. Be aware of the steep prices for food and beverages provided in the room. The staff were extremely helpful in accommodations!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, but overpriced."
The location of the hotel is great, being situated right in the heart of downtown Seattle. I was upgraded to a corner room, which was huge and well appointed. The only issue is that ALL the windows were faced with a parking garage, thus a lot of headlight shadows in the evening. Also, you have to keep the blinds down all the time as you never know who […] might be watching you! The gym is good and the hotel overall is good. For the money though, it is expensive. Also, parking is astronomical! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location to walk everything"
The room didn't have a coffee pot. The gym was great. The lobby and the happy hour food were incredible. The air in the room didn't go on while we were gone, when we got to our room it was hot and stuffy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but not special"
Great hotel but don't expect to be treated like you're special. I was evaluating the W against other high end hotels and it fell short. First, don't get stuck below floor 6 or you'll only look at a brick wall during your stay. Also, curtains would help. My disappointment though was from the front reception where they were busy at all times and herding […] people through like cattle. No recognition of status, no Thank you for staying with us, no How was your stay. My stay was disappointing - thank you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent all around!"
The hotel and its staff were top-notch. Loved the room, especially since we had our 18 year old daughter and 9 year old son, the nice sized couch made us all very comfy :) Special thanks to Michael the bellman, excellent service skills, very personable, and just a great guy to talk to! He was there with full support when we experienced last minute logistical […] issues, and getting us to our cruise ship with time to spare. My family and I will definitely recommend the W to all heading that way. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Comfortable Hotel"
We checked in following a cruise to Alaska. We wanted to spend a night and see Seattle. We were very impressed. The hotel staff were very friendly and allowed us early check-in. Our room was in the corner and had great views. It was an enormous room with a very large bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and we felt relaxed and safe. "Great location for weekend at Seattle"
The address about this hotel location is misleading; if you rent a car to go hotel, it is almost impossible for you to find the front door easily. Its front door is mainly used for the purpose of its restaurant and bar. The actual access for customer to take luggage and check in the hotel is actually on the side street, Seneca Street. The daily parking […] is $54.99 per day. My experience is that if you only want to visit and spend time in areas surrounding Pike Market Place and Pier 59, this hotel is a very good choice. You really don't need a car and pay expensive parking in this hotel if you choose to spend most of your time in this area, in which public parking in general is very expensive and not easy to find. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a dedicated iPad with print by the concierge desk for you to do online check-in and print out your board pass. "Overhyped room descriptions"
OK - it's a big city downtown hotel - the traffic and parking issues aren't things that can be avoided unless you're the US President and/or have more money than God. BUT - be straight about the room. EXCEPTIONAL applied to the cheapest room? I think not, especially one on a lower floor with a view of the next building. This is an older hotel, and tarting […] the place up with futuristic bathroom fixtures and urban chic public rooms is like putting lipstick on a pig. I live in a city that's a business and tourist destination, so am not unduly surprised at the room or meal prices, or the parking problems, but I still get really annoyed at charges for bottled water in the rooms and outrageous internet charges. Yes, business travelers can write these off, but a guest on the weekend isn't likely to be a business traveler. Public parking right next to the hotel is half the rate of the hotel's overnight guest parking. Since the hotel doesn't accept any more responsibility for guest vehicles than the public garage, why bother? Just unload at the hotel entrance and go park yourself, and save the cost of a meal. "Always a Pleasure"
As stated above, it is always a pleasure to stay at any of the W Hotels. Even in a laid-back place like Seattle the staff are always conscientious, friendly without being too familiar, and their attention to details is consistently impressive. I had originally booked an accessible room, as my companion that was to join me is in a wheelchair. He was […] not able to make it and when I requested to change rooms to one of the corner view rooms which were the same price point. The person on the phone who took this information (he was also giving me directions to their parking entrance while I was driving around the block) had a room sorted out in the 10 minutes it took me to get into the lobby. There was one small exception to the attention to detail I mentioned however, it was in the bar. I was seated at the bar in the evening and asked what white wines were available by the glass. The bartender had no idea and had to refer to the wine list. This is no great failing, but then I then asked for a recommendation, he sort of shrugged at me and looked to this colleague to deflect the question onto him. His colleague attempted to bail him out, but he too was unfamiliar with the selections they had on hand. So I ordered what I thought sounded good to me, and it turned out fine. All in all it was a wonderful stay and I will always select the W's as one of my default upper-mid-range places to land. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A disinterested front desk staff, an inexperienced concierge, and they erroneously assigned my room to another guest, who would have entered my room but for the security lock I had on the door. "Everything was good but the view"
My cool corner King room had a side view of a parking deck 20 feet away so those blinds remained shut and my view of Puget Sound was blocked by a building. Basically I couldn't see anything. I kept the blinds shut.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I have stayed at other W properties and thought the lighting in this hotel was really dark (in the lobby/elevators/hallways. Also, we were surprised that the furnishings in the room looked a little worn and shabby (not sure how long this property has been open or the conditions of other rooms). These were merely observations and opinions, […] they are not meant to reflect negatively on the hotel as a whole. The staff were all very nice and helpful and the beds were comfortable. "Excellent location and service"
The hotel is centrally located, near all all must-see sights. It is nicely decorated, with clean and comfortable rooms. The a lobby bar is a fun hang out with a great crew, music and drinks. The hotel staff is very courteous and attentive. We did not have any issues with valet service (they were always very fast and helpful, offering assistance on how […] to get around and recommendations). The parking fee is high, but if you are coming in-and-out of the hotel several times a day, as we did, it is very convenient and worth it. We also checked in early with no problem. An excellent experience all around! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First room we checked into smelled AWEFUL! Obviously a dog (maybe a few dogs) had occupied it previously! It reaked of dog and dog feces. GROSS!! Thankfully we were able to transfer to a new room on a different floor. Also, for a W Hotel, I thought this place was very "Blah". The décor was nothing great and the staff/service was just "OK". On our first […] day we left the room around 9 am and returned around 3 pm and the room had not been serviced. When we called the front desk we were told that the room would be serviced between 6pm and 7 pm. WHAT??? We had to request that they come sooner as that is when we would be showering and getting ready to go out for a Saturday evening. DUH! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Missing amenities for such a high-end hotel"
As far as I can tell, all the 'image' of the W is in the impressive lobby bar. In the room, you will find no coffee maker, and no HD TV channels. Roadside motels in far lesser areas even have this. Good location, but we could take or leave the hotel itself.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything is an additional charge"
I stay in the area several times each year, and the business model at the W Seattle is much different than other area hotels. Rather than including things like parking and ancillary charges in the cost of the room, this hotel is all about charging extra for every little thing. Several additional taxes were even added to my room charge that were evidently […] not covered in my payment to the website. The view from a "corner room" was of the parking garage next door. Internet was an additional charge, as was anything else I requested from the concierge. The room itself was sub-par for the area. In addition to hidden costs, the hotel service was wanting throughout the weekend. There were no wait staff available in the restaurant, so I seated myself and still didn't see any staff for over 15 minutes (this was during a busy meal time and there were several other customers in the restaurant). The valet was constantly on his cell phone making personal calls, and didn't look like he even worked for the hotel. I ended up loading and unloading my own bags before anyone from the hotel even raised a finger. Overall, you will do better at any of the other hotels in the area. The W Seattle will make up the costs by over-charging for everything else. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I enjoyed my stay at the W. The staff was always prompt when we had to ask for extra things like towels and sheets (there were 4 of us in the room). The front desk was mostly helpful whenever we had questions about the area or needed suggestions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Within Walking Distance to Attractions"
The hotel is easily to get to via car, (Interstate 5 is only a few blocks away) or public transportation (the Translink from the airport stops two blocks away) It is located a few blocks from Pike's Market and about a mile from the Space Needle. Great friendly staff at the hotel from the front desk to valet and the room cleaning maid. The only drawback […] for me was that the hotel didn't have a coffee maker in the room. I need my hot water. But with all the Starbucks and cafes around, I guess it makes sense not to provide one for the guests. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with friendly staff"
Great hotel in the heart of downtown. Quick walk to Pike Street Market and Pioneer Square. They take dogs as well, and we brought ours. They even took him out for a walk when we were out for several hours one day. On the down side, it was hard finding decent sit down breakfast spots at a reasonable price. Lots of places for grab and go, or cafes (there's […] a french bakery one block down with the BEST sticky buns ever); hotel breakfast was tastey but very expensive. "Paid extra for a "lovely" view"
My wife and I spent two days in Seattle at the W, on our way to Alaska. We opted for the upgraded corner room and was told (we called ahead) that we would have a view of Seattle if we had a corner room. We got a view alright, one side was of the parking garage and the other side was of an alley way. What a waste of money to pay extra for a beautiful […] room of a parking alley and garage. When I say parking garage, I don't mean there was a parking garage across the street from our room, I mean it was LITERALLY a small alley way separating us and the parking garage. The garage was higher than our room, so there was no looking up either. Next time, I'll stick with the Sheraton. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money"
First off let me say the Valet here are the rudest most unprofessional group of people that I have ever had to deal with, they dont help with bags, they drive your car like its a nascar race, and for $59 a day valet I expected them to at least help a little. The hotel is nice for the most part, rooms have a awkward mix of old and new, but the beds are […] pretty darn good, best part of the hotel by far. I have stayed in W's country wide and are typically very impressed with the hotel and service, but this W needs help very very badly! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

People were nice and very cooperative about giving my family adjoining rooms. The only complaint I have is that the housekeeping on our second day wasn't what I expect, especially from such a high end hotel. I was alone in my room and when I came Bach after having the day out for Graduation celebrations there were evident baby cookies from my Grandaughters […] still on the floor,. "Excellent hotel in downtown Seattle"
The hotel is centrally located to restaurants and transportation. Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. Room is reasonably sized and comfortable. Only negative is that the W is located four blocks from the waterfront.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only complaint I have with our stay is the concierge service. The concierge was not helpful for us at all. I had my two children with me and they directed me to the Seattle center for the day. He told me it was a 15 minute walk which in actuality was a 45 minute walk. Then we asked about a pizza place that would be kid-friendly. He told us about […] Serious Pie but told us it was only 4 blocks away at 2nd Ave and Pine. We went there and there was no restaurant. We called and they redirected us another 6 blocks away. They need to get their information straight and everyone needs to be consistent. Our last day, I called down to inquire about the Duck tours and he didn't know much about it. He said we could call them directly to get information. In other hotels I've stayed at, the concierge volunteers to make those calls for us. I rely on the concierge service to help me plan my days when I am traveling. You should look into yours at the W Seattle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Pretty good, but not great"
I reserved one of the nicer rooms at the W. It was ok, but for the price we paid there left a lot to be desired. There was no pool, the gym wasn't that great, our view over looked a dilapidated building and everything cost extra: Wifi, Parking, etc. for the price you pay, at least the in-room wifi could be free. This hotel is more focused on creating […] a hip club scene rather than quality stay. Every night when we returned, we were greeted by loud terrible dance music and annoying club people (Like the girl who stumbles into a things then yells "Wooo!" after everything and the creepy guy trying to take her back to his room). The elevators are also filled with these people. It would have been a great place if I was 20 and on spring break. At 35, not so much. On the plus side staff was very helpful and friendly.
