The room was sufficient for a one night stay on our way to our destination. The manager was very pleasant and accommodating. The bathroom could have used some updating. The location was very convenient.

We stayed one night during the Olympic Trials (Iowa City) and the room definitely served it's purpose. The bath fixtures were worn but that really did not bother us at all. The bed was comfortable enough and the room smelled fresh. Nice little pool and small lobby area to relax and watch the kids swim from. Breakfast was limited but free and did the trick with waffles, cereal donuts, toast, oatmeal and orange juice.
Location.
Situated in Cedar Rapids, The Hotel at Kirkwood Center is conveniently near the airport and area attractions include Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and Veterans Memorial Stadium.

"Great stay"
This place is a 5 star hotel. wonderful rooms and loby. I can only find hotels like this in bigger cities like chicago milwaukee and what not. A very reasonable rate for the quality.

Wow what a nice upscale hotel in Cedar Rapids. No need to head to Chicago to get a swanky hotel.

"LOCATION"
This hotel is close to the airport and a minute from I-380. Easy to find and lots of parking. We had to spend time in small towns South of CR so this hotel was perfect. The rooms ,beds and linens were AWESOME! We only had room service for breakfast which was fair but did not have an opportunity to try the restaurant so can't comment on the food ove […] rall. "HOTEL KIRKWOOD"
Beers at reception were warm , made hard to drink some.What made me upset , was that someone was in our room , while we were at reception. We left our belongings in room , cell phones , my wifes purse under chair, & car keys to my vechicle. also the alarm clock was set for 6:30am .It might be a cortesy , but having alarm go off at that time & not getting […] it turned off was a pain. We stayed there so we , could enjoy evening without driving & having good time , but I guess when someone in our room was questionable.We were very happy to stay there, & will stay more times . The hotel is awesome. Perfect rooms perfect customer customer service. Great place to stay. So not Iowa. Looks like a hotel in NY or LA.

"Totally Unexpected at Kirkwood"
This has to be the nicest hotels in Cedar Rapids. We couldn't stay in Iowa City after the football game (att least anything decent) and found this hotel gem in a cornfield. The finishes were spectacular, clearly and architectrual and interior design finish (i.e. no chain design) which I really appreciated. The restaurant was fantastic as well. This very new hotel is New York luxe. Freindly staff; great hotel restaurant. Well worth the extra money when compared to the economy chain hotels in Cedar Rapids.

When I checked in, my room was not cleaned very well at all. The bed was not completely made, there was still urine on the toilet, the toilet seat was about to fall off, and several of the lights were not working. Very swank hotel. Wish it had an actual bar. Dining was absolutely wonderful. Very contemporary design.
"Not really convenient"
Some reviewers have said this hotel is convenient to the city. Not really. It's a short distance to the airport, but the hotel is located on the South edge of town. It's a bit of a drive to get to the Interstate which will take you downtown or you can go the back way North on Kirkwood Blvd for several miles. You need to know that because the only restaurant […] in the area is in the hotel. The quality of the hotel, however, is very good. "Kirkwood Hotel- beautiful modern hotel"
The hotel was very clean and close to all sites in the Cedar Rapids area. The only downfall is that the hotel does not have a pool, tub or jacuzzi.
"Perfect choice for Kirkwood Graduation"
This was a beautiful hotel. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We were only slightly disappointed that there wasn't a pool. We were offered a tour of the facilities, since it is part of the college it was quite impressive!

"New Location In CR, Iowa"
This is a new teaching hotel. It is very nice with what I would say is a contemporary theme. The showers are impressive for this area, glass frameless tile showers with a waterfall head. All staff extremely helpful and friendly. Only comment would be that the pillows were overstuffed and difficult to get comfortable with. Beds however were dreamy.
"Convenient"
We stayed in this hotel after not being able to find a hotel room in Iowa city. We attended the Iowa game on Saturday. Being 13 miles from Iowa City did not prove to be a hinderence to our weekend and it was nice not having to go all the way into Cedar Rapids if we did not have to.
