The room was VERY clean, however, very tiny!! Had to sit on the bed, or on a wooden, straight back (kitchen Like) chair. There was a partial, Ocean View, which was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Alightly Disappointing Stay"
Good location and overall a nice place to stay for the price. Perhaps because it was offseason, the room was in lackluster condition. Burned out bulb on one of the lamps, and very hazy windows made it hard to see outside. Alarm clock was not working either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A relaxing getaway in Cape May"
We thoroughly enjoyed the room; comfortable and slightly quirky, with an ocean view. Quiet and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to both beach and town excellent"
Easy to find and quaint but in a contemporary way. All facilities gereat. Very comfortable bed with nice linen. Peaceful so easy to sleep and although close to everything not noisy.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice place to stay."
Great location right in the heart of downtown. The room appeared to be modern, but of course some of the furniture was faded (the couch in particular). Bed was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was nice to have. Definitely would return.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice, alittle small for $200 a night on a weekdayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great vacation spot"
Close to the beach, perfect for a quick mid week getaway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"perfect last minute getaway"
The Star Inn was my second choice when I was looking for accommodations for the last night of Cape May's Exit Zero Jazz Festival. It will now be my first choice for any future stay I Cape May! The room, more like a suite, was compact but nicely appointed. We stayed on the ground floor where all the rooms had charming little garden patios. The king size […] bed was very comfy! The location was perfectly central to great little shops and restaurants, as well as to the beach just a block away. You could see the ocean from the front porch outside of the charming reception area. It is one of the sister properties to the venerable Congress Hall Hotel which is right across the street: you could avail yourself of the amenities offered by Congress Hall (which is quite lovely itself) but we didn't get to do that too much because of our brief stay. Next time! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price and location"
Very nice hotel right near Congress Hall and also owned by them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the walking mall"
Our room was small but comfortable. Access to the Congress Hall for breakfast and dinnerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, needs a tune up."
Lights in bathroom blew out on arrival, but staff quickly fixed fuse. Flush handle on toilet fell off every time we flushed. It became a running joke. You can hear EVERYTHING in hall. If a mouse sneezed out there, you would hear it. Overall acceptable but quirky.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our room had a little kitchenette, and it was perfect. I could have lived there for a while! I had a couple of problems, bed had some broken bits, and my doorknob fell off! But the staff could not have been better, and fixed things right away, and really, isn't that what you want in the end? It's an older hotel, and I like going to places that have […] a little history. I would definitely go there again, or to any of the hotels that this company owns. Your also across the street from Congress hall, so you can enjoy all the amenities. "Great Intro to B&B Experience"
The Star Inn was perfect for a long-weekend getaway. We stayed in the main guest-house (rooms 1-8) which, for us was a great segue to B&Bs. It has all the charm but it's not actually in someone's house as you check in at Congress Hall. It was a great way to have the amenities of Congress Hall but your own secluded place to chill. I would highly recommend […] the Star Inn...I honestly feel you can't beat the value. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cozy, romantic inn."
This is a wondrously private and beautifully maintained annex to the fabled Congress Hall. You have all the amenities of Congress Hall but the escape from all of the activity when you want to.Genuine Expedia guest review
What a beautiful room with great amenities. I will stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Felt like I was staying at someone's house. We were on the 3rd floor and loved it. Loved the bathroom and bed. We only stayed the nite but would love to go back. Had breakfast at Congress Hall in the morning. Great menu!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"famous seaside beach resort in off season."
lovely property - and I'm sure an exceptional experience in the summer. However, don't expect much in the winter! I'm not one to need or want much help but it would have been very nice to have a "heads-up" about certain local matters. Like: do you need or want directions to the ferry (I had asked about distance to it - so they knew I was headed there) […] , do you need or want to know whats open around here for eats, gas, etc. Also- I was put up on the 3rd floor - walkup - on a bitter cold day - and had to repack my stuff so as to facilitate a quick and easy get away the next morning- NOT an easy thing to do 3 floors up , in the bitter cold , and I don't think all the other rooms below were full! Again- no questions asked, no advice or help offered. The room was very nice and cozy- comfy - even in the winter - and despite all that , I would have loved to stay and explore and would have been fine with it. Travel plans were very tight and the weather just awful so no dice there but I was a bit perplexed on the lack of attention I received there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely visit to Cape May at the Star."
The Star Hotel was a perfect spot for our mid-winter (and first) visit to Cape May. It was part of the Congress Hall group (200 yr old major hotel across the street which we had access to) yet it was it's own cozy inn. We loved the living room and kitchenette space, The bedroom with the king size bed was perfect. With nice weather, the outdoor sitting […] area (front porch and back garden) must be very pleasant. The Star Inn is as close to Congress Hall as possible. The room was clean and pleasant, but tiny!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expected from a Cape Resorts hotel."
Accomodations were good if you were looking for a quick get away and needed a place to stay. Doors to the room lack security and do not have good sound barriers to them. Housekeeping staff in the AM leave laundry all about the small hallways and is very noisyGenuine Expedia guest review
Simple but comfortable. RM 5 is small if you want bigger room stay in motel section not the INN. They tried not to honor free breakfast but then I said is was offered online to they gave a credit for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Star Inn is in an ideal location, very close to the mall area and all the shops. Check in at the beautiful Congress Hall was very easy and breakfast there was very nice. Our room was basic and suited our needs. The only down side was we stayed in room 8 and there was a fire exit door that had to be accessed through a hallway between our room and […] our bathroom. It was a little unusual but didn't affect our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed Sister Hotel for Congress Hall"
We arranged a two (2) night stay, off season; and it was cold. So much so that the wind blew through a hole in the bottom of the door ~ all night long! Unable to adjust the temperature in the suite. Unable to wash my hair as the shower head lacked pressure; my husband had to shower while holding half the holes closed just to rinse off.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value in the off season"
My wife and I disappeared to Cape May for mid week break. We have been coming to Cape May for years, using staying in a B7B. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast at the Blue Pig was excellent, but pricey. The tea was hot, but of course not worth $3.50 a cup. I could've imported 30 teabags of quality […] black tea from Ireland for that price. We spent the voucher on one breakfast. Close to the beach. I would definitely recommend. I do miss the intimacy of the B&B, especially meeting other people during breakfast, but this was fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were in efficiency 14 I believe and it was adorable! So clean. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We ate at the Blue Pig for breakfast, make sure to request farm fresh eggs as they are delicious. We walked over to the beach and in town to shopping. We will be returning in the near future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice location for things to do- but wish there was more of the ocean view from the room- we looked at rooftops and siding.Genuine Expedia guest review

Had to walk several steps to the check in and out counter to another building. Couldn't use the bathroom or kitchen sinks. (No Plugs) No comfortable chairs to sit in. phone wasn't working to call your friends in other roomsGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel, close to all attractions."
Nice quite weekend. Just what we wanted. You may use all the facilities at their other 3 properties in the city. Across the street from their premier property, Congress Hall. Nice because you can charge to your room at all their locations.Genuine Expedia guest review
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Star for one night in early October and it suited our needs perfectly, and even surpassed some expectations. Plenty of parking, and a short walk across the street to Congress Hall to check-in. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and gave us a map of the area as well as a voucher toward breakfast the following […] morning at the Blue Pig Tavern in Congress Hall (which we gladly utilized and highly recommend). Our room was #4 in the Cottage portion of the Inn, and though it was slightly obscured by a neighboring building, we were delighted to see the ocean from our windows. Fantastic ocean breeze into the room, as well. Our room was immaculate, with a large closet and updated bathroom with a glass-door travertine tiled shower. Five-minute walk to the beach in one direction, and five-minute walk to the shops at Washington Street in the other. Ten minute drive to Sunset Beach or Lighthouse. Plenty of dining options nearby, both casual (highly recommend Y.B. on Beach Ave around the corner from the Star) and formal (The Ebbitt Room is just one street away, we'll be dining there next time we stay). Would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, clean room, a bit too small."
Very quaint hotel at a super location. Room was quite small with low ceilings that we hit our head on occasionally. Was fine for one evening but would not have worked well for an extended stay. Staff was quite friendly and helpful with answers to questions.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel close to the beach"
Due to the height of myself and my husband, we were not comfortable in the Inn portion of this hotel. The eaves of the roof on the top floor make it uncomfortable for tall people to move about.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything was great, but watch your head."
Perfect location, great staff, etc. However, some third floor rooms have low head clearance, and I have a couple of bumps to prove it. Maybe this is to be expected in a Victorian building?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Star Shines Again..just not in Room 8"
Our second consecutive year at Star Inn and, like every other Congress Hall-affiliate, service is their #1 priority. Loved everything again except the layout of the room (Room #8)...Main room itself if good size, great bed, closet, etc. Problem for us was the bathroom is separated by the Fire Exit corridor which meant having to lock two doors each time […] we left the room and leaving our belongings in the bathroom wide open as there is no outside lock on the bathroom door. We understand the majority of people won't be bursting through the Fire Exit door on that floor unless there's an emergency but it doesn't make the layout convenient. We did request a room change if possible, but that was a long shot on Labor Day weekend. The staff did their best to find another room. Overall, with the location and amenities tied to staying at Star Inn/Congress Hall, the extra doors were a small bump in the road. Will definitely come back to Star Inn next year! "Nice hotel; great location!"
We really enjoy the Cape Resorts properties and The Star Inn is one of the best!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall Great Experience"
Arrived on a Saturday and departed on Monday. The front desk is staffed during normal business hours, if you need anything in the off hours you have to contact Congress Hall. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was small, but comfortable. Bed was quite comfortable as well. Light refreshments and coffee are served at front desk, if you want anything […] else it has to come from Congress Hall. It's in great proximity (walking distance) from everything. Additionally since the property is part of the Cape Resorts Group you get to use the facilities like the pool at congress hall and beach chairs/umbrellas on the beach. I would definitely stay here again. Only negatives I can say were that there were some odd angles in the ceiling (expected with older properties) that I hit my head on and the toilet lacked any suitable flushing power (room 8). Additionally there was a acrid burning smell, possibly from one of the concession refrigerators, noticeable when you walked in the front door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, tiny room, slow service"
Overall, the Star Inn was great! The location is about 100 yards from the beach. Our room was very small, but sufficient. The bathroom was one of the best and most well stocked (Aveda Products) of any hotel we've ever stayed at. The service throughout the hotel's restaurants and beach cabanas was VERY slow. At one point we sat for 15 minutes before […] a waiter approached us. When you stay at the Star Inn you are able to use all the amenities of the Congress Hall, which was great. We would not hesitate to stay at the Star Inn again, and aside from the high price, would recommend the Inn to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
loved having all the same amenities of Congress Hall that was just across the street. nice to sit out on the porch with a glass of wine and listen to the ocean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was centrally located to beach, shopping & dining - all within walking distance. We stayed in the "house" part of the hotel and unfortunately had to carry luggage up to the 3rd floor because there is no elevator. I would stay here again but request 1st floor. At select times, there is no check-in at that location, so guests need to go across the […] street to Congress Hall Hotel (affiliate) to check in for room keys - but there was no sign posted to state that. Hotel had a nice porch with seating for partial view of water. Great location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We enjoyed our stay at the Star. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Room size was a bit small but sufficient for a weekend. We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and downtown. We feel comfortable recommending the Star.Genuine Expedia guest review
nice stay since we don't need much. the room was really small for that amount of money. not many places open to eat. nice relaxing time but woken up with construction in parking lot. it was early and it was loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Small but comfortable"
It was a tiny room. However it worked out nicely. Having the Congress Hall amenities was the highlight of the stay. Walking across the street and enjoying the Boiler Room and Brown Room’s music and atmosphere were fabulous. The breakfast vouchers were adequate for 1, not 2. That was Ok though. I was glad I was in the Star Inn at checkout time. I watched […] people waiting for their valet service to get their cars while I could just walk over to the Star Inn and drive away. It was very convenient when I drove to see the sights and out to dinner. A great stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
