What a beautiful room with great amenities. I will stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Felt like I was staying at someone's house. We were on the 3rd floor and loved it. Loved the bathroom and bed. We only stayed the nite but would love to go back. Had breakfast at Congress Hall in the morning. Great menu!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Star Inn is as close to Congress Hall as possible. The room was clean and pleasant, but tiny!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Simple but comfortable. RM 5 is small if you want bigger room stay in motel section not the INN. They tried not to honor free breakfast but then I said is was offered online to they gave a credit for breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Star Inn is in an ideal location, very close to the mall area and all the shops. Check in at the beautiful Congress Hall was very easy and breakfast there was very nice. Our room was basic and suited our needs. The only down side was we stayed in room 8 and there was a fire exit door that had to be accessed through a hallway between our room and […] our bathroom. It was a little unusual but didn't affect our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed Sister Hotel for Congress Hall"
We arranged a two (2) night stay, off season; and it was cold. So much so that the wind blew through a hole in the bottom of the door ~ all night long! Unable to adjust the temperature in the suite. Unable to wash my hair as the shower head lacked pressure; my husband had to shower while holding half the holes closed just to rinse off.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value in the off season"
My wife and I disappeared to Cape May for mid week break. We have been coming to Cape May for years, using staying in a B7B. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast at the Blue Pig was excellent, but pricey. The tea was hot, but of course not worth $3.50 a cup. I could've imported 30 teabags of quality […] black tea from Ireland for that price. We spent the voucher on one breakfast. Close to the beach. I would definitely recommend. I do miss the intimacy of the B&B, especially meeting other people during breakfast, but this was fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were in efficiency 14 I believe and it was adorable! So clean. Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We ate at the Blue Pig for breakfast, make sure to request farm fresh eggs as they are delicious. We walked over to the beach and in town to shopping. We will be returning in the near future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice location for things to do- but wish there was more of the ocean view from the room- we looked at rooftops and siding.Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent--walk to everything!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel close to the beach."
Had to walk several steps to the check in and out counter to another building. Couldn't use the bathroom or kitchen sinks. (No Plugs) No comfortable chairs to sit in. phone wasn't working to call your friends in other roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice accommodations close to the beach!"
Very nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay! Very friendly & helpful staff! Would stay there again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, close to all attractions."
Nice quite weekend. Just what we wanted. You may use all the facilities at their other 3 properties in the city. Across the street from their premier property, Congress Hall. Nice because you can charge to your room at all their locations.Genuine Expedia guest review
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Star for one night in early October and it suited our needs perfectly, and even surpassed some expectations. Plenty of parking, and a short walk across the street to Congress Hall to check-in. The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and gave us a map of the area as well as a voucher toward breakfast the following […] morning at the Blue Pig Tavern in Congress Hall (which we gladly utilized and highly recommend). Our room was #4 in the Cottage portion of the Inn, and though it was slightly obscured by a neighboring building, we were delighted to see the ocean from our windows. Fantastic ocean breeze into the room, as well. Our room was immaculate, with a large closet and updated bathroom with a glass-door travertine tiled shower. Five-minute walk to the beach in one direction, and five-minute walk to the shops at Washington Street in the other. Ten minute drive to Sunset Beach or Lighthouse. Plenty of dining options nearby, both casual (highly recommend Y.B. on Beach Ave around the corner from the Star) and formal (The Ebbitt Room is just one street away, we'll be dining there next time we stay). Would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff, clean room, a bit too small."
Very quaint hotel at a super location. Room was quite small with low ceilings that we hit our head on occasionally. Was fine for one evening but would not have worked well for an extended stay. Staff was quite friendly and helpful with answers to questions.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very clean and in the middle of it all"
the room was very clean. It was a bit small. but didnt mind too much. I would probably stay again if we cant find anything better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel close to the beach"
Due to the height of myself and my husband, we were not comfortable in the Inn portion of this hotel. The eaves of the roof on the top floor make it uncomfortable for tall people to move about.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything was great, but watch your head."
Perfect location, great staff, etc. However, some third floor rooms have low head clearance, and I have a couple of bumps to prove it. Maybe this is to be expected in a Victorian building?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Star Shines Again..just not in Room 8"
Our second consecutive year at Star Inn and, like every other Congress Hall-affiliate, service is their #1 priority. Loved everything again except the layout of the room (Room #8)...Main room itself if good size, great bed, closet, etc. Problem for us was the bathroom is separated by the Fire Exit corridor which meant having to lock two doors each time […] we left the room and leaving our belongings in the bathroom wide open as there is no outside lock on the bathroom door. We understand the majority of people won't be bursting through the Fire Exit door on that floor unless there's an emergency but it doesn't make the layout convenient. We did request a room change if possible, but that was a long shot on Labor Day weekend. The staff did their best to find another room. Overall, with the location and amenities tied to staying at Star Inn/Congress Hall, the extra doors were a small bump in the road. Will definitely come back to Star Inn next year! "Nice hotel; great location!"
We really enjoy the Cape Resorts properties and The Star Inn is one of the best!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall Great Experience"
Arrived on a Saturday and departed on Monday. The front desk is staffed during normal business hours, if you need anything in the off hours you have to contact Congress Hall. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was small, but comfortable. Bed was quite comfortable as well. Light refreshments and coffee are served at front desk, if you want anything […] else it has to come from Congress Hall. It's in great proximity (walking distance) from everything. Additionally since the property is part of the Cape Resorts Group you get to use the facilities like the pool at congress hall and beach chairs/umbrellas on the beach. I would definitely stay here again. Only negatives I can say were that there were some odd angles in the ceiling (expected with older properties) that I hit my head on and the toilet lacked any suitable flushing power (room 8). Additionally there was a acrid burning smell, possibly from one of the concession refrigerators, noticeable when you walked in the front door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, tiny room, slow service"
Overall, the Star Inn was great! The location is about 100 yards from the beach. Our room was very small, but sufficient. The bathroom was one of the best and most well stocked (Aveda Products) of any hotel we've ever stayed at. The service throughout the hotel's restaurants and beach cabanas was VERY slow. At one point we sat for 15 minutes before […] a waiter approached us. When you stay at the Star Inn you are able to use all the amenities of the Congress Hall, which was great. We would not hesitate to stay at the Star Inn again, and aside from the high price, would recommend the Inn to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
loved having all the same amenities of Congress Hall that was just across the street. nice to sit out on the porch with a glass of wine and listen to the ocean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was centrally located to beach, shopping & dining - all within walking distance. We stayed in the "house" part of the hotel and unfortunately had to carry luggage up to the 3rd floor because there is no elevator. I would stay here again but request 1st floor. At select times, there is no check-in at that location, so guests need to go across the […] street to Congress Hall Hotel (affiliate) to check in for room keys - but there was no sign posted to state that. Hotel had a nice porch with seating for partial view of water. Great location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location and comfortable"
We enjoyed our stay at the Star. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Room size was a bit small but sufficient for a weekend. We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and downtown. We feel comfortable recommending the Star.Genuine Expedia guest review
nice stay since we don't need much. the room was really small for that amount of money. not many places open to eat. nice relaxing time but woken up with construction in parking lot. it was early and it was loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A quiet place near the beach."
We stayed there when our daughters ran the marathon, and it was perfectly located for that and for the beach generally. The rooms were small, but comfortable and really clean. It was also nice and quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Place to Stay in Cape May!"
Excellent hotel in a superb location. Great place to stay in Cape May.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small but comfortable"
It was a tiny room. However it worked out nicely. Having the Congress Hall amenities was the highlight of the stay. Walking across the street and enjoying the Boiler Room and Brown Room’s music and atmosphere were fabulous. The breakfast vouchers were adequate for 1, not 2. That was Ok though. I was glad I was in the Star Inn at checkout time. I watched […] people waiting for their valet service to get their cars while I could just walk over to the Star Inn and drive away. It was very convenient when I drove to see the sights and out to dinner. A great stay! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"High quality and comfortable intown accomodation"
We were happily surprised by the quality of our stay at the Star. We had booked through an online site, and had only modest expectations. But the room, in an older renovated facility, was larger than expected, the bed fabulously comfortable, and the tiled bathroom handsome and attractive. A breakfast voucher was provided for the Blue Pig restaurant […] across the street. Parking was right next to the Star. Overall, very happy with our one night stay at the hotel. "Two nite getaway to Cape May"
The Star Inn efficiency room we had was like our own cottage by the sea. Perfect location, near to restaurants, shopping and 1/2 block from the ocean. The proximity of their sister property, Congress Hall, afforded big hotel amenties right across the street. Will plan to visit again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"starr inn review"
nice that the inn is affiliated with the congress hotel. $14 breakfast voucher was also welcomed. room was not too small and quaint and was very clean. could see the ocean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Avoid! Rooms scattered around. No signs for directions to check in (100 feet away, in other building. Extremely small rooms. Even smaller beds. Very loud neighbors. Left with a headache.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were so excited to be in Cape May, NJ. Considering the price of the room,we had expected a little more than what we got. TINY room. Hardly any walking space or anywhere to put our things. The sink in the bathroom was so small, you couldnt wash your hands without water going everywhere. You couldnt even get your face over it to brush your teeth, as […] there was a glass shelf directly above it. The bed was very nice, tho. It was a queen with very comfy bedding. This room was a total disappointment. It should have been used for a closet and nothing more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay in Cape May"
Nice "bed and breakfast" type hotel. As part of the bigger Congress Hall hotel chain you have access to all its amenities across the street! You are in a house so the rooms are smaller than the main hotel. We enjoyed our stay and would return.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location - limited parking -"
People were nice. Didn't like being on the top floor - too many stairs. Very small room. Room so small that when walking around one side of the bed, I turned around and my head banged into the very low beam cut into the wall. That hurt! Clean room. View of roof. But right near the center of shopping and very close to beach. Would like it better on one […] of the lower floors. The sink was very tiny, too - but at least we had a private bathroom. "Extra Small Room"
I am a big guy and this room is tiny. I could not stand in half the room. The sink was very mall had to wash one hand at a time. I had a lot of photography equipment and took up almost all the space in the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
This place is great. We stayed in one of the efficiencies and it had a nice comfortable feel about it. Cute little kitchen area with half stove, microwave, refrigerator, utensils and dishes. Also liked the modern stainless countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. The location of this place is fantastic. You are in the center of everything. half block […] to the beach, and about a block to the mall. Also, using the facilities at Congress Hall is a real bonus. "A great little Inn at Cape May, NJ!"
This was a very nice inn to stay at! The rooms were bright and cheery with a very nice bathroom! Everything was within walking distance, the beach, the shops, the restaurants. Upon check in I received a voucher for breakfast at the adjacent restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Suite Star and Service Too"
Most lovely service and clean surroundings. Convenient and accessible to Congress Hall and mall. The room is small, and view a little scant, but it served our purposes beautifully.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Star Inn in Cape May"

"Good Value, but Off-Season has limits"
I stayed at the Star Inn in late March, before tourist season got a start. As a result, staff and front desk support were provided by its sister hotel, the Congress Hotel, across the street and down a block. The room was well appointed and clean, bed comfortable, and quiet as my room backed onto a residential neighborhood. The rooms, despite being […] street view rooms, were also quiet, as the parking lot provided a good buffer from slow-moving traffic on the street. All in all, this was a nice experience and a good price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Vintage maintained impecably in a great location!!"
We stayed in Room 8 on the 3rd floor of an old/vintage house/bed & breakfast managed by the Congress Inn across the street. The hallway/steps were narrow/steep without an elevator. Our room had a sloped ceiling making one side of the room impossible to stand upright. Our "in-room" bath was through a door, through a hallway, then through another door. […] We think that hallway was the emergency exit, so at night we locked our room, but there was no way to lock our bathroom items. Our room was non-smoking. The bedding was white, fluffy, and smelled/felt clean. The leopard carpet was questionable and probably needs to be replaced soon/yesterday. The bathroom was remodeled and retiled and was very clean. Room amenities included a working television with remote control, ironing board, iron, good size walk in closet (on the sloped side of the room, so dress/long coat dragged), two white bathrobes, and a hair dryer (which we thought should have been located in the bathroom). According to the rules of the Star Inn, you must be over 25 years of age, and the guests seemed to behave themselves~~~even on New Year's Eve! We liked the affiliation with Congress Hall Inn. The front desk ladies were extremely welcoming and professional!!! We bought coffee and sat in the rockers admiring the ocean at Congress Hall. We also recovered from New Year's on Star Inn's front porch~~some gliders, some not thankfully. Overall, vintage feel, maintained impecably, and great location!!!!
