A walk or jog along Brooklyn Bridge's wooden pedestrian path is one of the city's most exhilarating experiences. The path, built above vehicular traffic, provides spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, the bustling East River, and, in the distance, the Statue of Liberty. Plaques by the bridge's soaring Gothic arches detail the history of this 19th-century engineering marvel. The entrance to the path is near City Hall Park, less than a half-mile from the hotel.

Great customrer service!! very small room. Bed is sufficiently comfortable, but room is too dark and there is no small referigerator nor safe. However, NYC hotel prices are crazy, so this is the best value I can find. I am pleased with the value I got as a frequent traveler. Yes, elevator is slow, but walking up and down a couple of flight of stairs is good for me to get rid of all the great food I eat in NYC.

I stayed here for two nights in August and the room and especially the cold air conditioning were wonderful. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. My only complaint is that there wasn't a dresser and the the wardrobe was small and an ironing board took up half of the space. The staff was genuinely friendly and engaged me in conversation several times. They even locked up my bags (no charge) after I checked out so I could spend some more time sightseeing. The seaport area is within easy walking distance with a lot of nice shops, restaurants and a TKTS booth. The subway is three blocks aways and is well travelled day and night. I took the subway from Times Square after shows both nights by myself (female) and didn't have a problem. There is a bus that stops in front of the hotel that runs up the east side of the island. There is a drustore/ convenience store a block away for drinks and snacks. There is also a McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts and Wendy's between the subway and hotel. I think this is a good place to stay if you have business in the area but if you are going to see shows just know that it will take you about 45 mins to get there (and back) by subway and plan accordingly.

Overall it is a good hotel. The room I was assigned was in the cellar area which was okay except it was opposite the staff lounge. They would talk all night and keep me awake. On the plus side it had a door I could open to a beautiful patio. The patio was surrounded by a 20 foot wall so it felt safe to sit out there an enjoy the weather. The desk staff answered a few questions about getting a cab at 5:00 AM in a very helpful friendly manner. My only recommendation is to have the staff lounge door shut at all times while the staff are talking after 9:00 PM.

Excellent location to the Seaport, Financial District, TriBeCa, etc. Restaurants, shopping, sights all close. About a $30 cab to the MET (north-side of Central Park) so $15-$20 should get you about anywhere you need to go in the city. Subway is close and buses stop right outside the Hampton entrance. 20 minute walk to the west gets you to the banks of the Hudson. Excellent staff! Rooms are small (like European hotels or many other 4-star hotels in the city). Liked the hotel--we'll go back.

There is a few restaurants, two pharmacies and a gym near by, parking does add up since the hotel does not provide parking space, the hotel is fairly new, the rooms are small, but has everything you might need, the feel of the Hotel is really modern, the employees are very friendly and the breakfast its great, I had a room on the top floor with a balcony, where you get to see a good view of the brooklyn bridge, also has a table to seat 4 people, we had breakfast there everyday, the rooms are small and there is not much closet space, but overall I'm impress with the quality of the hotel and the money that I'd pay for it. Definitely a great choice !!!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel but were unimpressed that our room smelled heavily of smoke and our taxi could not find the location. It can be a bit tricky to find locations in this part of the city, but we had two taxis that could not find the hotel and ended up walking to it ourselves at 12:30 in the morning. It was a good location for the business that had to be done though.

We are a young couple that was looking for a cheap but comfortable place to stay in NYC for the weekend. This place was it. It wasn't very close to the subway (~4 blocks away) but it suited our needs. Didn't expect a continental breakfast, so that saved us some money on food. The room was mostly the bed, which was all that mattered to us anyways. The mounted flat screen TV was nice, channel selection was good. Overall, I definitely recommend if you're in need of a place to stay.

I was very impressed with the excellent service and the staff was ready to assist with anything I needed at any time. This hotel was conveniently located to the university, the Seaport which has great shops and restaurants and very close to the subway station. The area is real safe due to the fact city hall is just about 1 block away and there are officers everywhere. I was walking out along around 10p going to the pharmacy and felt pretty safe. Very close to Wall Street financial district. This is my hotel of choice when I visit my daughter.

The staff at this hotel are wonderful! They were friendly and always went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The hotel is relatively new (2006) and is well maintained and my room was always clean. The only complaint I have about the hotel is that the room I had was VERY small. My room was on the 8th floor (9 floors total) and had a large balcony. But in late February, it was too cold to enjoy. I was told that the rooms on the lower floors are larger (no balcony). I was in NYC on business, I stayed for 6 nights and I will definitely stay there when I return in late March.

This is a great hotel if you don't mind being on the tip of the island. It is supremely comfortable. Amazing beds and linens. Nice breakfast. We chose it because we had theater tickets in Brooklyn and it was an easy taxi ride across the river. It is in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge which is thrilling to walk over. It's also walking distance of Chinatown and little Italy. The trip to the subway is pretty long so it's not terribly convenient. The Seaport is a very interesting area and has great restaurants.

Our room the first night was right off the lobby and was a little loud, but they graciously moved us for the second night to a nicer room at no extra charge. The hotel is literally in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge, so I walked across it for exercise in the morning. What a great walk!
