"Rooms are the highlight"
Older hotel that needs some serious renovation, rooms were decent however.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The condition of our room was not very good. The carpets and chairs were dirty and stained and we made sure not to go barefoot on the carpet. There were many dogs in other rooms and the barking was not what I wanted to hear. I can say the bar was okay and the food good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The beds were firm enough and comfortable. The staff was friendly and courteous. The whole place needed intense updating. The breakfast was not the best. They ran out of things. This might be due to the front desk clerk having to trend to the breakfast bar and desk.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cleanliness an issue"
Used towels in bathroom - bedding in one bed did not seem fresh, other bed was fine. Could not cool room down - very humid. Front desk staff could not be bothered to stand up, rather scooted around area on desk chairs with wheels.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Elizabeth Inn & Convention Center Dear Guest-We were undergoing renovations as we are making improvements to the property. We appreciate your feedback and the problem that you notified us of has been fixed. We hope to see you again at Elizabeth Inn and look forward to serving you!
Friendly helpful staff, cozy room. Things are a little outdated but everything is clean and functional. It's a cozy rural and affordable place to stay with conveniences like Kwik Trip, a fantastic family restaurant right there. And the towns of Plover and Stevens Point just a short drive away. Only thing that could use direct attention is the part of […] the roof that pours water onto your head if it's raining and you're trying to get into Door A. Overall, nice quiet place. checked in took a quick look around, everything screamed needs an overhaul. not sure if any updates had been done since it was built, rugs in hallway worn, the metal railing in the pool area rusted, the hotel had an odor of old and cigarette smoke. was very disappointed checked out and stayed in another hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
Booked this place for a weekend stay through expedia at a promotional rate for about half the going rate of other hotels in the area. Story is that this place has new ownership since october of 2013 when we arrived at the hotels location it looked ok from the exit of i-39 . Once inside the placed appeared to be nothing more than your average worn out […] hotel it got worse from there staff lacks trianing and knowledge of hotel operations. when we got to our room it was very small with a queen size bed in it had to step around each other all weekend appears that they are shuffling rooms around to do some remodeling.Understandale because it is way over due our bathroom had a hole patch on one of the walls that was never sanded or painted which was pretty much the standard of the work being done throughout the place started but not finished. seem to keep seeing and hearing of problems from the other guest.my advice spend the extra money and enjoy your stay somewhere else best of luck to the new ownership. Everything acceptable. Not fancy, good enough. They had some outside electric outlets they allowed me to use.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I little outdated but would stay again"
Older Hotel. Beds were very comfortable. Great water pressure in shower. Good pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ok for a cheap one night stay"
Rooms really need some fixing up. Beds are literally about 1 1/2 ft. off the floor. There were a coup like e things I thought were unique..pool table in a guest area and they don't require you to provide your credit card if you already paid in advance. Rates were reasonable but I don't think we will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is under new ownership and construction and repair went on the entire weekend we were there. Bar area has been opened up and is much more guest friendly. The mattress was new. Still just two pillows for a King bed but they would provide more if requested. Check in went quickly and smoothly. At the current price it is a great deal.Genuine Expedia guest review
The lights wouldn't work. The carpeting was stained. Not a lot of towels. The room looked very old.Genuine Expedia guest review

"OK, but not highly recommended."
The Staff were pleasant and helpful. I was disappointed that the room had no refrigerator or microwave. Most of the carpets were spotted & stained, giving the impression that they are infrequently cleaned (or at least never shampooed). Some walls also appeared to have water damage. However, the room smelled fresh and clean and the temperature was very […] comfortable without the need to adjust or listen to a loud air-conditioning unit. The showerhead also emitted a high-pitched whistle that was very obnoxious. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not so much..."
I should have turned around when I pulled into the driveway...it's pretty clear that the owners/management take no pride in the appearance of their property. I reluctantly walked in and went past a bar area and to the reception. I checked in and had no problems getting my room key and the staff was nice. Found my room and walked in...it was quite apparent […] that I did not get one of their "fancy" upgraded rooms as they show online, mine was more out of a horror flick. No room darkening blinds, so a floodlight lit up my room all night (in hindsight, not such a bad thing). The bed was as hard as a rock and the pillows were a joke The bathroom vanity had whiskers on the faucet and there was a nice little note on the mirror informing me that the water was NOT safe for infants to drink. Never took a shower because the tub had so much dirt/soap scum build up in it, I'm pretty sure it would defeat the purpose of a shower. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Room was in Disrepair"
Toilet was not sturdy - it rocked while sitting on it Vertical window shades were falling off Air conditioner was noisey Overall everything looked like it need some kind of repairGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in that motel room about 15 minutes while we frantically looked for another motel online. The lobby is dark, dingy, and felt unclean as did the room we were given. The mattress in the room was very bad. Air conditioner was not working. It took the two service desk people 5 minutes to acknowledge us even though we were the only other people […] in the room. We didn't stay there even one night and left within a half hour after arriving. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Plover location desired"
Mattress needs replacement. Room rug needs cleaning bad Main hotel entry aisle rug thread bare WIFI did not function properly, finally gave up Room sink needed attention Breakfast as bad as ever experiencedGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed here previously and had a fairly decent room. This time plumbing issues in both sink and shower. I like to frequent non-large corporate places but this needs so much of an upgrade that I won't stay there again until they do so.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Depressing and disgusting"
07/27/14 ondrejka Madison, Wi
I attended an event here. Based on the reviews, I chose not to stay overnight. The staff were nice and were trying to do a good job, but there is no rescuing this place. The property is shabby and worn--it looks like they plan to tear it down, so why bother to maintain it. The meeting room was dark and drab, and the food was awful. Everything was over-cooked and under-seasoned. A glass of the house red wine had some unidentified sludge in it, and I (as well as others at the table) was horrified when I found a housefly drowning in the wine. I didn't want to know what the rest of the sludge was!
"great staff but everything else was terrible"
07/15/14 beccarenee New London, Connecticut
I booked the trip for a queen bed room not near the pool due to the fact I like quiet. When we arrived the staff seemed friendly. We were checked in and were given keys to our room. When we walked in the room it was a 2 double bed room that was attached to the pool (ok not a terrible thing so we weren't going to make a stink). First think you smell is chlorine! It was like you were in a chlorine tab bucket. There is no way this is healthy, your eyes water and throat burns it was uncomfortable. The air conditioner is really a fan that blows air in from the indoor pool making the room hot. The hall way was much cooler even though we set the "AC" on high as scold as it goes. The carpet was so stained from years of abuse. We went out for over 5 hours and came back and the room never cooled off and just smelled more chlorinated from the "AC". Around 11 at night we asked to switch rooms because of how sore our throats were from the chlorine. The room we were given was down the hall. We were told to wait 15-20 minutes because it needed cleaned. When we got into the room, it was much cooler because the AC was not attached to an indoor pool. After little inspection we noticed the sheets were not new, and there were stains and garbage from the previous residents still on the bed. It was disgusting. Upon asking the staff, he admitted that he did not change the bedding. We asked for the sheets we just decided to change them ourselves with clean linen. Taking the dirty pillow cases off we saw how old and gross the pillows were. We just used pillows from our car trip. We were offered 2 free drinks for all the inconvenience but we declined. The bar looks to be from the 1970's and at night has people who are too intoxicated. We got to hear a fight between 2 drunks deciding who was able to drive home. (Neither should have been allowed near a vehicle.) Amenities very outdated (t.v. fuzzy, router kept having to get restarted, ect.). Only certain rooms get the free wi-fi. We had family staying 100 yards away at the Best Western. Next time we visit we will not hesitate to stay there. It seems like an actual hotel as opposed to this.
"A place to stay, but not much else"
07/13/14 SarahTee2014 Beloit, Wisconsin
I was pleasantly greeted by the staff person upon my arrival and thanked when I left; I really appreciated the customer service (including a call up to my room 20 minutes after arriving to make sure everything was good) but not much else. The carpets were stained which gave the appearance of of dirtiness elsewhere, the bedding was old and uncomfortable, I could feel the ridges of the mattress through the sheets and ill-fitting mattress pad, and the room didn't have a coffee maker. The stairwell stunk of marijuana when I returned to the hotel around 10:00pm, and the hallway and rooms surrounding me were noisy. I could hear the television in the room next to me until 4:00am, and it didn't seem to be that loud, so I'm assuming the walls must be quite thin. I picked this hotel for the money savings, but I would have been better off paying a few more bucks for a good night of sleep elsewhere.

"Had a big bed..."
07/12/14 Bardo3303 Flint, Texas
Place was super old. Amenities very outdated. I'm not sure if only certain rooms get the free wi-fi? I couldn't connect to it in my room or near the meeting rooms on the other side of the hotel. How are you able to advertise that as an amenity if it's not even true? Not to mention the people who seemed to be living there? Barbecue set up outside. Little girls bike by the back door. People openly smoking walking through the halls. Whole hotel had a weird smell to it. I'm assuming that's the mixture of dog and cigarette/who knows what other kid of smoke. Only reason I booked here was because the job interview I was going to Wisconsin for was holding interviews at the hotel. Still wish that I hadn't.
"39.99 hotel that costs 100 a night"

On top of that two many dogs. Will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone, well my ex wife.
"Don't believe the website!"
06/27/14 SoccerFamily373 De Pere
Made the mistake of believing that this place changed since 10 years ago when it was a dump! We were there for a soccer tournament and only picked this hotel for the team as they updated website to state things have changed! They had! I think they were worse than 10 years ago! I think "bubba g" hit it on the head. How they haven't been shut down as of yet is beyond me. We were even told that the owner and manager lived upstairs but refused to come down to speak to any of us with complaints. And, the signs about the water, we didn't have one in our room, so had we not been told about this by other families, we would have probably drank some of the water! This in itself should shut the place down. Extremely disappointed that they can actually get away with this.
"Worst hotel ever"
06/27/14 todd c Hurley, Wisconsin
This hotel is exactly what the manager says, "this is not a high end hotel". It shows. Dirty. Filthy. Gross. Poor management. In a previous review the manager boasted about how clean this place was...no way! I'm still itching. Cold showers, no clean towels, musty smokey smell. We were offered a full refund, then found out that they only refunded half the amount. I have a signed receipt for full refund, so the defrauded me. Luckily I have my receipt! Hope nobody else is so unfortunate to fall into this dump.
"Rated 1 because zero wasn't an option"
06/22/14 bubba g Green Bay, Wisconsin
This place is an absolute dump. In town for soccer tourney, and was waiting for Norman Bates to appear. Smelled bad, carpets were foul, whole balcony around pool was saturated and soft: waiting for it to fall below. Signs warning guests not to drink the water due to nitrates is absurd: warning them not to boil the water (as it will further concentrate the nitrates) is even more absurd. "Continental breakfast" consisted of a couple of slices of toast on the counter. Bar and restaurant were closed: on a Saturday evening, no less. Excuses made on prior posts that new management was curing the ills is bogus. They've done nothing to this place, and it's evident that ownership is sucking every last penny out without putting half a cent back into the property. Run away, don't walk: better off sleeping in the back seat of a vehicle than this place. Very surprised the health department hasn't put hazmat tape around the perimeter and shut it down.
06/22/14 AHarris2014 Presque Isle, Wisconsin
Paid $125 for one night at this dump. The room was not clean when I got there and the toilet had not been flushed from the previous occupants (gross!). When they finally did get around to cleaning the room, they forgot to put clean towels in the bathroom or sweep the bathroom floor. The TV as an ancient tube type with a lousy picture. A request for towels went ignored. Front desk staff wearing undershirts only added to the low rent feeling of this place. The carpets were worn and dirty, the hallways stunk, and the place seemed very dated and not well maintained. The key card to the room didn't work and neither did the replacements the front desk gave me. The outdoor entrances were not locked. This is one of the crummiest places I've ever stayed at any price.
