Comfortable, excellent room except for decor. The newly redecorated room was manfully spare, although comfortable enough. The decor was in dull dark browns with odd sofa toss pillows that didn't match. Some lamps were too dim and the overhead fixture above the "desk" was too bright and not adjustable. The "desk" was a high table with high chairs to […] perch on -- not comfortable working space. Art on the walls and in the hotel public rooms was incomprehensible in subject matter and jarring in colors and shapes. The wi-fi appeared to interfere with my iPhone and iPad 3-G reception, so I turned off the wi-fie connection. However, the price for the room was right, the staff is excellent, cleanliness outstanding, the bath and kitchen features very nice and convenient, and the location is very handy to the freeway and to shops and restaurants. We brought our little dog and they were going to charge me $150. I was appalled, so they cut it to $75. That is not a deposit, but a charge. Otherwise, the room was good. The thermostat for the air conditioner was not in good working order and the front office staff had to come twice to "fix" it.

The room was very comfortable and recently remodeled so everything was new and in perfect condition. There was still some remodeling in process so the gym was unavailable. Everything about my check in and out was a breeze. Friendly staff, very clean rooms, and close/easy access to a few different types of food options and a nice movie theater a couple of blocks down the street. Close to the freeway, easily found, but not swarming with people, this place is in a great location in the east bay.

The lobby was off limits to us. The temporary front desk was very minimal. While the employees tried very hard to smooth things over, it was very inconvenient. Not sure how much longer the remodeling will take but I really think the rate should have been greatly reduced.

Clean, comfort and convince at a good price. Walking distance to shopping, dining and BART access is just a shop drive away. Staff friendly and helpful. Great cable TV package with many HD channels... DVD in room so don't forget to bring your favs. This has been our go to hotel in the Bay for a while now. You really can't do much better than this.

The room is very compact, and having the bathroom almost right next to the bed is not the most delightful place. The pull out bed had sheets on it that were dirty from most likely people eating on the couch. The sheets should not be on the mattress at all times. The breakfast needs HELP! If we'd stayed longer I would have taken advantage of the mini kitchen in our room. As it was, I loved having a couch instead of the standard 1 chair and 1 desk chair to sit on, other than the bed! Breakfast had a slightly better variety than just the usual breakfast buffet. The scrambled eggs were pretty good! The milk and juices are kept nice and cold on a freezer plate. Great coffee. Swimming pool and spa looked great. Very nice exercise room and laundry room. Nice patio area with grilling available. The room/suite was comfortable (perhaps a little small, but cozy). The bedding, sofa and carpet looked clean. Good wi-fi connection. My only small complaints would be the AC unit taking awhile to get cool (it was nearly 100 outside) and the fuzz in the filters. Adding filter cleaning to more frequent maintenance would be a good thing. (As usual, the mattress was too soft for us, but that's normal for our preference for a firm mattress.) Quick one-night business stay and I was impressed. I could have stayed for several. They gym was above average for a hotel, the breakfast was very good.
