From the outside the hotel looked nice, but the interior was old and in need of a good cleaning. The room smelled odd when we arrived which they said was due to the cleanser. The location was good, very close to eating and shopping and less than five minutes from UMass and Amherst College.

First room given smelled like fish. Asked for another room. I asked manager on duty if there were any local restaurants who delivered. They acted as if nio one ever asked that question before.

It was a convenient location and the front desk staff were pleasant. The room was rather dingy with lights that didn't work, an air conditioner that couldn't be switched off and a hair dryer that was as loud as a leaf blower. We won't return.

The hotel is stingy with the towels, and the towel quality is poor. The pool is a joke. You might as well assume there is no breakfast. Also, they won't clear your room after 1 pm. It's an OK cheap hotel, but not perks whatsoever. Very close to UMass.

Had to get a new room in middle of night. The mattress felt like it had been used by elephants for a trampoline - a hammock would have been better. Next room was a king bed. No mattress cover and bottom sheet must have been for a queen size - would not stay on. A RENOVATION IS LONG OVERDUE. STAFF WAS WONDERFUL.

The rooms were clean except if you happened to look at the back of the bed on the floor near the headrest where it appeared that it is never dusted or vacuumed. The air inside them was pretty stagnant. The air conditioner and fan worked great to make the room much more comfortable. All of the accessories worked great and our stay was pleasant.

The outside of the hotel was great but the inside (rooms) were outdated. It is very centrally locataed as we wanted to go to The Eric Carlee Museum and Yankee Candle. Close to 2 malls.

Our room was perfectly acceptable given the low price. The only disappointment was the thin, hard mattresses that left me quite stiff in the morning (we had a room with 2 doubles, next time, I'd try the king and see if it's a better quality mattress). Over all very clean, especially the bathroom, although both chairs in the room had seats that were […] stained. We found the breakfast satisfactory; pretty typical continental fare. Could hear showers and toilets in other rooms, but not TV or voices so not a problem. Easy access to restaurants, movie theater, department stores. Friendly front desk staff. Read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was ready for me; clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was typical. The only real problem I had was that the evaporator plan for the air conditioning had not been cleaned in a while and I got a whiff of mildew. Perhaps housekeeping could look under the beds once in a while? While standing at the foot of my bed unpacking my suitcase, my foot ran into something hard - it was a beer bottle (not mine!). If the housekeeper missed an empty beer bottle that was just under the bed, what else isn't getting cleaned? The pillows were hard and lumpy, and the room smelled […] musty and dank, like a locker room that hadn't been cleaned for a while. The Continental breakfast was pitiful. I'd rather that there hadn't been anything advertised about "breakfast" because then I would have packed my own. Overall, a very disappointing stay. In the future, I'll take advantage of one of the hotels run by the many competitors in the area. Read more

Due to last minute booking, location and lowest price, I was willing to overlook springs i could feel in the mattress, the long hair clinging to the hairdryer, and the curly ball of hair stuck to the shower curtain. To a certain degree, you get what you pay for, I get that. My biggest issue with the "Econo" is this: When I realized after checking out […] that I left behind my North Face fleece jacket, specifically on the back of the desk chair in the room, I called the hotel and the desk attendant was less then helpful in locating my lost item. His quick check of the lost and found came up empty and he suggested that I call back after 11am the following day (when i would be long gone) to check with the housekeeping staff. Granted he said they could ship the jacket if found, but i was still in town at that moment. I pressed the issue, and asked him to check with the new occupant of the room, among other suggestions, indicating that i can come right back. His reluctant response was "give me 2 hours and if I have time, I'll see what i can do, and call you back." After about 1.5 of waiting I decided to return to the hotel. The desk attendant said that they've looked everywhere, and even spoke to my room's new occupant and nothing was to be found (thanks for the drive-saving phone call to tell me this). I explained that it was a $100 jacket that i had left behind, it has to be here somewhere, i would really like to have it back. He said you can still call back tomorrow, and speak to housekeeping. So I left town, jacketless, and called the next day as was suggested. After a new, 10-minute search by the new desk attendant, i received a call back telling me sorry, but no jacket. So you get what you pay for, but not if you leave what you paid for behind. Read more

I stayed over one night between a two day training I had in Florence MA. I was a little concerned about the location, not being familiar with Hadley, but it wasn't a long drive and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were several places to eat and shop (a whole foods market, panera, barnes and noble and several restaurants) near the hotel. […] I was also pleased with the comfort of the bed. Too often I wake up in hotels with a soar back and neck, but I didn't that night. What was less then ok was the "free breakfast". It was really limited to various unappetizing carbs and there was no place I saw to sit and eat (the food was by a wall in the lobby). You get what you pay for. Blankets and sheets did not fit the bed. Had 3 different rooms within 3 hours of checking in. No hot water in first room. 2nd room had a noisy "vent" located under our window which ran on and off constantly. We finally requested a "front" room facing the street. With the windows closed and a fan on in the room you can't hear […] the traffic. No refrig in room. Very convenient location though to all major roads and attractions. Read more
