"I would not recommend this place"
Checked in and the room key didn't work. Got a replacement which didn't work either. This was lucky because the room was occupied by someone else. Awkward!!! There was an irritating blinking light on the smoke alarm. Maybe they had a problem with people smoking in the the rooms because there was a cage installed over the alarm which reflected the light […] like a disco ball. The grab-and-go breakfast bar had no coffee, two oranges and some packets of instant oatmeal. We grabbed the oranges and didn't wait around. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Recent business trip."
The breakfast choice and coffee was undesireable. But everything else was superb.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Almost excellent experience."
Everything was great. I would've score the hotel a perfect score if it wasn't for the mold on the lining of the shower curtain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and quiet"
Very clean and quiet, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is the right choice for anyone that would like to keep to themselves, do their own grocery shopping instead of going out to restaurants in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel room is clean and comfortable. I can do some simple cooking. Overall, I am happy with staying at the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place for the money"
Clean, convenient to airport and convenient to food. Good place to stay. Only thing is that it would be nice if extended stays had breakfast but I I guess that's not their shtikk...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but not Great"
This is a good hotel but don't forget this is an extended stay. So you are not going to get the same level of service that you might expect at other hotels. But in terms of the basics.... clean room, sheets, people, and service they get the job done. Plus i think the location is nice but its is outside the city of San Francisco by a good 15 miles which […] can be an hour drive with traffic. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"On balance well worth the price"
Room was well appointed and included kitchen - dishes, microwave and stove, full size fridge. This chain has less emphasis on daily housekeeping (though it's available as an option), and the prices reflect it. Doesn't include bkfst, but I've never found the ones that do to be very good in the US. Only other drawback - no computer terminal in lobby. […] Alll in all, not bad. "basic and adequate"
This is your basic room, but it is super convenient to the freeway and the location is decent. The kitchenette is always a welcome addition for reheating food and eating a quick breakfast. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. You get what you pay for. I am happy with it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extended Stay America in Belmont"
Hotel was convenient to South Bay locations. Facility was clean and was priced right if reserved on-line through a discount sight like Hotels.com Staff was plesant and helpful. Draw back was it had a lumberyard on the north side a wquanza storage huts behind it that were a bit unsightly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean room. No breakfast and none nearby until 8 am at Motel 6 next door. Zero amenities. Bring your own everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nasty...stay away!Genuine Expedia guest review
"More apartment than Hotel"
New concept for hotels ...very basic self service. No maid service as standard, so no linen change or room cleaning during duration of stay. Quite expensive for quality of hotel/ more Apartment. There was a kitchenette with two ring hob , microwave, kettle, sink, coffee maker and refrigerator.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for a lower price."
It is just a reasonable hotel but not for the price of ~ $ 170. The location is isolated unless it is a location near your even that makes you restricted to few options. I would pay $60 per night for this. Breakfast is nothing near what a breakfast should be. Hallways have smell of garbage room. The check in time is 3 PM. When we got there, they were […] asking us to wait another 45 minutes for the room to get ready. We were unable to manage and they gave us another room that I assume was worse than what we had booked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A step up from basic, but air out the funk!"
05/29/14 thrall Atlanta, GA
Located about 10 miles south of SFO airport and firmly mid-Peninsula, this hotel is about halfway to everything in the Bay Area, although that can still mean long rides in traffic. It's also a 20-minute walk to the Caltrain station and several restaurants. Depending on your preferences/needs, ESA Belmont has both pet- and smoker-friendly rooms. It is also priced less than many of its competitors and is a reasonable way to save some money in a very expensive area. WiFi, parking, and a very minimal snack for breakfast are included. We did not buy the WiFi upgrade as the normal creaked along at 3 Mbps. Housekeeping is once per week, although you can get as many towels and toiletries at the front desk as needed (and pay extra for daily housekeeping if you require it). While I expected our room to smell like cigarettes (it was the last room available), it actually had this funk like smelly feet that even Febreze could not dispel! There was no comfortable public area in which to sit and work and escape the smell either. Too bad, because I've never before written a hotel review fussing about an odor! Another guest said she'd bought Febreze too. We had neither a pot nor a pan in the kitchen, and I hope the housekeeper was just too short to see the sticky mess all inside the kitchen cabinet (and no paper towels with which to clean up). So the kitchen was a waste except for the fridge and microwave. Ending on a positive note, I must say Victor at the front desk was amiable and helpful over a several-day stay.

If you book online only A room is reserved, not the room you booked. So instead of a King-size non-smoking room, you can get a 2 full-size smoking room. Sheets/Bed were low quality, as was everything.
"A regular extended stay america...not bad...not awesome..."
05/20/14 ArunPatyal San Francisco, California
This hotel is like all other extended stay hotels. Pros: - Cheap - Near to offices in Redwood Shores - Walk-able distance to Belmont downtown. - Clean room - Free Wifi, Parking, Coffee Cons: - No dishwasher - Internet is not that great - Service is Ok - Breakfast, you better get your own. - No Gym - No Office facilities like printing etc, though they do help getting a printout but it is not very convenient. - No Swimming Pool Overall, ok for a day or two stay. Not good for long term stay.

I wasn't expecting too much in terms of facilities given the price, but some things were disappointing - plumbing problems: backflow of garbage into the kitchen sink, bathroom sink draining very slowly - paper thin walls: I could even hear the snoring of the person in the next room, and hear a conversation fairly clearly - barebones breakfast: The only thing hot is coffee and water... I wish they offered something more (bread, eggs, danish, bagel...)... All they have is bars, fruit, muffins... - the person at reception is gone most of the time.... have to call to get them there... On the plus side, free wife, free parking, and clean room.... Overall, I'm not sure I'll come back to stay here...
"Value for Money"

The rooms are clean, although they do not clean it everyday. The Kitchenette is very Handy and important as well as there are very little options to eat nearby. It is a stones throw from Oracle HQ and some of the other firms in the Bay area. The Best thing is it is value for money if you are on for a long stay and there are no issues/problems as such.
"Off the beaten path"

We stayed here for three nights (10/18/2013-10/21/2013) while visiting the San Francisco area. The hotel itself seems pretty isolated, though I'm not familiar with the area at all, but it didn't take too long to get to more civilized areas. The front desk staff was really nice, especially Lisa - who helped us out with several random requests/inquiries. Our room (# 516) was both spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It was nice having a recliner in the room. We had all of the necessities for basic cooking, which we took advantage of. We did need a couple of smaller items which were provided upon request (Thanks Lisa!). There was no real noise transfer between rooms and no noticeable street noise, even though the hotel is right off of the highway; Our hallway smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke; however, our non-smoking room had no odors at all. The breakfast was meager, but we weren't expecting anything at all so it was a bonus. The grab-n-go breakfast consisted of coffee, granola bars, muffins, apples and oranges. All in all, this was a good experience and I would recommend this place for anyone without the need of staying in "The Big City".

The rooms stink, the room is serviced only once a month, there is no place to eat nearby. You need to clean your own utensils. There are no other amenities, it is basically just a room, nothing else. even the TV channels are very limited.
"More than I needed."
09/15/13 Armando G Long Beach, California
I've stayed here twice now while visiting family in San Francisco, and only because they accepted my bid on a travel site. The drive into downtown SF is about 30 minutes in free flowing traffic. The rooms are nice and clean, and come with a kitchenette. For those on a long-term business visit to SF, the kitchen would probably come in handy. While I am over-all pleased with both of my stays at this hotel, I did not like the extra stiff mattress, and the big gap on the bottom part of my room's door. I could hear what was going on in the other rooms and the smell of cooking wafted into my room every morning.
"They gave us a huge studio!"

We had a great stay here. I was surprised by the free breakfast as it was never mentioned in the hotel description or amenities. We got a great Studio with a big kitchen. They had all the cookware required.
"Used to stay here - not anymore"
08/27/13 NJRMontana Bozeman, Montana
I travel to the area several times a year for work. This hotel was recommended by my company and I stayed here over several years. It wasn't great, but it was OK and close the office, and the price was reasonable. However, they recently "upgraded" the artwork and some furniture and now charge quite a bit more. Because there are kitchen facilities in each unit, a high number of people stay for a job they're on. It's almost impossible to get a room that doesn't smell in some way. I think this is due to cooking smells that are impossible to eliminate. I started taking my own potpourri to try to cover up the smells. On my last stay, I ended up in a room where the next-door neighbors had a Friday night cooking "party". I had a 6AM flight and by the quiet hour of 10:30, they had not quieted down, even after I knocked and asked them to please be quiet. (there were 8 guys in there, happily cooking and joking around) The front desk was nice enough to let me move to another room, but it was a hassle since I had to get up in 5 hours anyways. I think this is a great place for anyone who needs long-term lodging and needs a full kitchen. If you need it quiet to sleep, or are sensitive to smells, don't stay here.
