"Stay in April"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 13, 2012
Was pleasantly by the cleanliness if the hotel and the location. They are very accommodating, loved that they had laptops that you could use in their lounge and there were snacks throughout the day that you could have all complimentary. Will definitely stay there again. I parked my car in their garage and didn't need it till I left.

"Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata, On"
Beautiful hotel, everything you need in one location. Close to Scotiabank Place. We will stay there again when we travel to Kanata.
Brookstreet is still the leader in Kanata, but the add on fees (Parking $15, Internet $15) are beginning to make less attractive.

"Brookstreet"
Location is right in the heart of silicon valley north, not so good for downtown though. Great hotel, pool & golf course. Like a resort 20min from downtown

"rookstreet Hotel Ottawa"
It was a great experience from start to finish. It was conveniently located and easy to find. I especially appreciated the underground heated parking, something needed in Ottawa. Another thing that was great was the water pressure and the fact that the towels were not rock hard from too much bleach. I do wish wifi had been free in the room.
"comfortable for the executive"
I was on holiday visiting family and not traveling on business. This is a beautiful hotel for a business traveler. The room felt like sleeping in an executive office. The gym and pool is very nice. The restaurant breakfast was nice and the front desk and waiters very personable.

"Brookstreet Hotel - Kanata"
This hotel was beautiful, very contemporary and new with attention to many little details. We enjoyed a great meal at the bar. There wasn't a lot within walking distance which we expected but if you are prepared to drive a short distance there is lots of shopping and this hotel is close to Scotiabank Place for event. It is adjacent to a golf course […] and had a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool area. Highly recommended. Read more

"Great Hotel---Great Price"
Very clean and new looking hotel. Servive staff were excellent and very friendly. Rooms had very relaxing views and overall the neighborhood was very quiet. Great facilities ie, pool indoor and out, very nice golf course, entertaining bar in lobby. I did find the televisions to be a bit small for today's standards. 27inch I believe.
"Super nice rooms, but bed needs an upgrade"
The hotel is super nice, however, they charge extra on parking (9.99CAD) and even more on highspeed internet (13.29CAD). These charges are per 24h and the internet isn't even wireless. The mattress could also be upgraded, I literally felt the springs in my back, compared with the quality of the rest of the hotel this was poor.
"Small details that need improvement"
Hotel was beautiful, food was outstanding. It was disappointing to have very low grade, rough, irritating toilet paper and tissues. Small detail that is very easy to remedy. Also, bedding, ie. mattress on bed was very hard and no foam padding was available make it more comfortable so I ended up sleeping on the chair and ottoman. The "Heavenly Mattress" […] would make a big difference. Read more

"don't waste your time or money"
Upon arrival I was given the wrong type of room. paid for deluxe golf course view with balcony, not what I got. Apparently the computer does not register what type of room you pay for. After house keeping came through my room they left the door open. Did not restock any toiletries. Had to have room keys re programmed ever day. Nasty email sent to hotel, […] no response. Not impressed on my wedding weekend to be treated like this. Read more

"Cozy and relaxing"
I stayed at Brookstreet for some rest and relaxation over 2 days - and that's exactly what I got! Wonderful service, excellent food, super facilities (although the pool could use a fresh coat of paint - and it's quite a stroll from the changerooms!). I enjoyed some of the many spa services as well as some room service. The food arrived at my door faster […] than in any other hotel I have visited! (And I received a call after delivery to make sure everything was to my liking!) I highly recommend getting a room with a balcony view of the golf course - beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is quite far away from any shopping or restaurants, but it has almost everything you need for a relaxing getaway. (It may not suit those looking to sightsee around the area due to its location.) I will definitely be visiting again! Read more

"Brookstreet Hotel Kanata (Ottawa)"
This is a top-quality hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone travelling to the Ottawa area. It's located at the western end of the City and getting to and from the hotel from the Hwy 417 was a breeze. The underground parking is clean and easily accessible, and it's very reasonably priced. The hotel staff is very friendly and courteous. We will definitely […] return to the Brookstreet Hotel for future Ottawa visits. Read more
"Nice but depends on what you are looking for"
The hotel was beautiful and the facilities were great. However, I was thoroughly disappointed when I found out that you had to pay for the internet. You can get free Wi-Fi at hole-in-the-wall motels throughout Canada so to have to pay at a beautiful hotel in Ottawa was very disappointing. You also have to pay for parking but it isn't outrageous. If […] you want a relaxing time with beautiful facilities but no internet and don't mind paying for parking then I would recommend it. Read more
"Awesome"
Amazing hotel, stayed one night, beautiful room, had room service which was amazing also. Comfort like no other I've been in, also the pool, work out and spa area were awesome.

"Brookstreet Hotel in Ottawa, ON"
Although a very nice hotel with really nice rooms, it's too far from tourist areas and there is is really nothing to do in the surrounding area. Having to pay for parking is ridiculous, if you're a guest than parking should be free. The hotel bar/restaurant was a bit on the pricey side and there weren't any affordable places to eat in the area. Will […] not stay there again, will probably pick a hotel closer to downtown. "Brookstreet - Great"
The hotel was fantastic! The room was very nice & clean. The bed was so comfortable. The pool area was great for our son, and the gym was the best I have experienced at any hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Kanata area.

"Expected better at this price & star rating!"
Room not cleaned properly. Left dirty glasses, watery ice bucket for 4 out of 6 nights! Hotel restaurant overcharged and made mistakes twice on bills. Extra charge for parking and internet. Spa, fitness, pool in good shape and service. Would not stay here again.
"stay at brookstreet"
Great location and amenities for anyone planning to attend an event at Scotiabank place. Only downside to our stay was that the Marshes was closd foor the season.
"Good and Bad"
We stayed at Brookstreet from a recommendation and for convenience. We were disappointed in the service at the hotel. Clearly much work work is needed in this department. I do not feel it is as great a place as the star rating indicates. The 2 of us and a toddler stayed in a room. _Reserved for 3. However, only 1 robe was in room. I requested extra […] towels and another robe to be added when housekeeping some. Never happened. Usually when a specific request us made, you get what you want. The Persepctive's restaurant we tried for a evening meal. 6 of us, full courses. We waited 1 1/2 hours, yes 1.5 hours for our entree's. Mediocre...my steak was awful. At the end, the chef came out and apologized about the delay, stating they had a huge bar crowd. Ummm....what?? The bar get priority? They did not comp anything. Very disappointing. I will say, our room and the hotel was very clean. I was impressed with that..but that alone. One last thing: the key cards kept failing. Not cool when you have a 18 month old sleeping on your shoulder at 1am...and you are locked out of your room. The system needs improvement. Read more
"Kanata business hotel"
This is a great hotel for business travellers. Owned, I believe by the founder of Mitel it sits right in a a hi-tech business park and has a great golf course attached. Close to Scotiabank Place it is convenient for concert goers or Ottawa Senators fans. The restaurant is expensive(breakfast buffet is around $28 a person) Rooms are a good size but check […] to see if wi-fi is included, it maybe an extra cost. Parking is around $13 a day as well. "Brookstreet Hotel In Kanata"
This Hotel is amazing, great rooms, amazing view of thier golf course, and excellent restaurant. Freindly staff, and you dont even have to get your own ice. They bring it to you and check up to make sure you got enough!

"Great hotel"
The room was beautiful with a great view of a golf course. One of the nicest hotels that we have ever stayed in. This would be the first hotel we consider the next time that we come to the Ottawa region.
"Nice and comfortable but..."
Despite the "resort" tagline, this is a good spot for business overnighters visiting Kanata's tech companies, close to 417. The golf course, pools and fitness facilities only punctuate the surrounding wasteland. Good design, nice decor throughout, good room views... BUT ventilation system "clicks" constantly and irregularly at night - not conducive […] to a good night's sleep. Front desk told me to turn up the fan, wow. Had high expectations for the much-touted dining, which weren't quite met. And daily parking fees, out in the sticks? Come on. Service ranged from thoughtless (placing us in a room sandwiched between wedding party rooms) to above and beyond (server at cafe who wrote out driving instructions for us). All round, good value but definitely some irritants. Read more
"Brookstreet Hotel Kanata"
The atmosphere of the hotel was nice and the room was very clean. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. However, the bed was not comfortable. It was hard and the duvet was lumpy. Also, the hotel charged us for phone calls that didn't even go through (we got a busy signal), which I thought was strange.

"Wonderful Accommodations"
Our stay at Brookstreet was terrific. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was impeccably clean, and the location was great! Would recommend this to everyone!
"Stylish business hotel"
Hotel was as it should be for the price. The only two disappointments were that breakfast was not included in the price and was very expensive even a standard coffee was $3.50; and parking was a compulsory $9.95 per night. Not an issue for business people claiming on expenses but for a family it provided a significant extra cost. Facilities were good […] - especially if you are a golfer otherwise location is "out in the sticks" with a car absolutely needed. Read more
