My colleague and I travel all over the UK working for my business, so we have stayed at many hotels. I'm not a huge fan of reviews as they don't always represent the overall business. Sadly, this place needs to be avoided. Firstly, we had no hot water, only to be told afterwards that the reception staff were aware. Then the sink was blocked. We were […] told it would be dealt with whist we were out for dinner. Then told it had been fixed... It hadn't even been looked at! Then finally we had no electric because the circuits had tripped. Although the rooms were clean and warm and yes it was cheap, I will be sadly sticking to what we know best.. The bigger more common hotel names. This place needs to pull its socks up or sell up to a company that has a little more pride. Read more

When we arrived the room was very cold,upon ringing reception we were told the heating comes on at 3pm and allow an hour for it to get through to the room !. The description of the hotel and the images make it look better than it was. I didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. Room was good size, clean, warm and quiet. Unfortunately the steam room was not working. We went in the swimming pool which was clean and warm, but the changing room was a bit shabby. For the price we paid, I was overall very pleased with the hotel.

good value for money but a very tired hotel. Wallpaper was hanging off some walls in bedroom, food in restuarant for dinner was awful, very limited choice and took ages to be served even though there were two other tables with customers so it was not busy. Looking at the reviews we weren't sure what to expect but the hotel was clean and friendly although looking a bit old fashioned. The room was clean and comfortable with TV, coffee/tea, hairdryer and W/C shower/bath. We didn't use the pool or sauna but the pool looked lovely. A very 70‘s retro style hotel. Actually it must have been built in the seventies. The staff were friendly and helpful. The TV did not work properly but the room was large, clean and comfortable. The shower did not work so we could not use it, but the hot water was really hot so the bath was great. No electricity for several hours (not the fault of the hotel) Leisure centre closed for 12 hours after electricity restored. Definitely the fault of lazy maintenance staff. Slow restaurant service

The hotel is fine in its self, its a little dated, and the rooms could do with flat digital tvs as the tvs they have are old type so few chanels. Pool was fine and we used it a couple of times no problems (nice and warm and clean) tenis courts and gym avalable in a 3 star hotel very good. Bar area ok good selection on beers and cider etc. we did not […] eat in hotel so can not comment, there were some bus trips staing at hotel but we did not find this in any way off putting as the people helped create a nice atmospher. overall nice hotel very good value, location is ok if you have your own car /transport, but if you are on a bus trip you are very much a captive group as the hotel is not NEAR any other population areas. so nipping to the shops is not a option. Simply? This hotel is very cheap and what you see is what you get. This was a find a cheap hotel quick situation and it met the requirements. It would be unfair to rate it in comparison to a 4/5 star hotel. Unfortunately I do have to complain about the general manager to their head office since he failed miserably. From the outside looks like a 1970's prison camp! Reception and communual areas not much better! Desperately needs a revamp to bring it up to date, however, rooms have recently been refurbished (well ours had anyway!) and were very comfortable, modern and clean. Stayed on way to Edinburgh from Suffolk to break up the journey. Paid less than advertised rates for a family sized room. Extra blankets and pillows in cupboard which I always appreciate.
