I had two overnight stays in 2008, and had no hesitation whatsoever in returning to the hotel in 2009. Service, breakfast, everything was most satisfactory and the position of the hotel just outside the cite walls has to be experienced.

out of value="5""Brief trip to Carcassonne"

Smal but charming hotel. We had a room at the top front of the hotel and had a full and fabulous view of the Medieval City. Rooms are small (perfect for a couple, but would be a terrible squeeze if you had a baby or kids), but clean and comfortable. Aircon is controoled by reception, they will switch it on by demand. It's also not too far from the new town, and it's a lovely walk in over the Pont Vieux brdge. Carcasonne is a very sleepy and relaxed place, almost a caricature of what you expect France to be.

I selected this hotel mainly due to the convenience of its location. It is located just across from the Medieval castle of Carcassonne which is awesome but, I don't think I'll stay here again. I've stayed at hotels that offered the equivalent rate for better services. There was no shower, no curtain and no internet... this was a downturn for me. It was a shame although the personnel was really friendly and very helpful but I did not like the room at all.
